I just want to say we're still searching for people to help. There's no modeling needed, just place assets in a good order to make awesome places :

 

 

Btw, we're recruiting modders (not modelers) that have skills placing objects into 3dsmax to create our landscapes. We have around 10 places to offer. If you're interested into going thru G7 developement, PM me to know details.

 

If we get around 6-10 people the surface to build would be greatly reduced. (the surface is around 6000*6000) Having to place just 600*600 meters would be faster for everyone.

Of course jsut for future references.

Shadows are much more beautiful ... In G7 will be something similar to ENBSeries? New DLL?

I think many will want to see a new graphics in the G6 ... I think you understand what I want ...

P.S: If you are making a new DLL, please do Shader water and return adjusts brightness

Not really related to GP7, but, how did you get occlusion culling into gp6? I want it in normal sa

 

And, are you going to use bump mapping in gp7?

There's already alot of occlu volume in SA. I don't know if they're well placed. But.. Yea search for occlu.ipl

 

Bump mapping is impossible if we don't get news from DexX. So at the moment, that's still no.

Hey, this mod is the best I have ever seen, the details are going way further than GTA mafia stories, and MS also got advanced details (for now on).

 

But I was wondering, your models seems to have a high polycount, would a dff be something around the 6000 polyies in G7?

 

If it is, how have you managed that the engine engine can hadle such a details. in MS every model is dissapearing for a second, and the get reloaded.

 

do you guys know how i can fix this, maybe by using patch or something. My graphic card cant be the reason, its a 8800 GT

Highpoly models wont make the engine re-read the models, but yes the textures. Each lot in gostown 7 can be around 7000/10000 polygons. If the textures you're using are pretty big, the engine will stop reading, unless you increase streaming memory.

Hum, if i'm right the program name is SA Limit Ajuster...(check the edition room to find it), a really good tool, but i don't know how to use it..lol.

So, after a while, no update for now, just to says i've been deleted all my old lot because of max and dff corupted problems, so, the future pics you will see from me, will be really new concept and work...

Now, i'm reworking on the dt-27, dt-28 and dt-26...they are "big" lots and i'm a little modeler so, don't ewpect me about the time i would take to have them done... blush.gif

 

And this month is a month special for me, because it's my modding birthday date, i do some job on 3D since 1 year now, and i think, i'm not the worse, and i'm lucky to be in the GP'devs...so thanks Parow to trust me !

When you get on to modeling the buildings are you going to do interiors with a marker or just model the interior in the building and add a door like inside safe houses?

As i now, for now there are not building interior, but for my part if i've to do some interior, i will do like this ; for small interior (just a room with a bed) maybe i will do without markers, but for an interior like a police HQ or something like that, a marker is needed because the polycount of one interior can be supérior at the polycount of two lot...so, a markers is needed if not, you pc will lag...infortunetly...

Looks like Gostown isn't installed on your game correctly since the game tries to load LAw.ipl which is disabled normaly. Re-install the game + mod. You don't need to use mapcleaner.

loads "somewhere" i dont keep track of that

Seriously doubtful. Looking at the debug info it seems there is an object failing to load (either missing, incompatible or corrupt). The same goes for Huzaifah who also posted similar debug info. Your best bet is to re-install the mod on a fresh installation of SA, you must be going wrong somewhere otherwise everyone would be posting the same problem.

I reinstalled them both twice in a row.

 

I also have other problems with Grand Theft Auto San Andreas (not related to Gostown Paradise) like when I uninstall it and delete any leftover files then reinstall it any modifications I installed before uninstalling it are still in my game. suicidal.gif

 

I feel like totally giving up.

 

Could it be my CPU, Norton 360 or what?

u have to manually delete your game because your uninstall isnt seem to be working and delete the full rokstar folder and reinstall it again!!!

In Vista, It saves files that you have deleated, apparently. I think they are stored in "My Documents". Have a bit of a search.

I don't understand, what is the difference between g6 and g7? Exept that g7 has more progress?

G6 is basicly a mesa in the middle of the ocean with city on... and it's about the size of Los Santos and half of Back o' Beyond...

G7 is bigger and much more natural looking

@Wazzup: In Gostown6 they removed everything from the old Gostown versions. Everything's new.

 

But IMO, they should have kept the old island + style. It was much more paradise alike, with the paradise lake, small tropical islands etc. Also the buildings were a lot less New-York-ish and more Singapore-ish, which IMO is the true paradise. So hell, I say start up Gostown5 again, or someone else do it. I really loved that mod smile.gif.

In Gostown6 they removed everything from the old Gostown versions. Everything's new.

Us modders don't think / work the same as players do. And don't see our work the same way neither.

 

When we start a project we like it to be strong, and have the ability to stay for long time alive. Which is not the case of the GTA Community currently. I'd say a big 10% of the started mods here -- and I am easy -- will keep alive to a release (what ever serious release it is).

Gostown5 was a sort of startup, in which firstly I used to drop some tests, some experiments. I also had on the hand other projects Like VCSA and others like SRT3 by the time. I was also trying to work with Myriad Islands Community map, but quit after some arguments with one person there.

 

I released GP5 in multiple upgrades, each time adding some new stuff. After a while, other modders like JostVice and SeaNorris were motivated and we united our forces to bring GP5 into a TC, using the Myriad-ish lot system (the same system Rockstar Games uses for his GTA games, btw)..

 

But the fact was that GP5 wasn't really friendly with community work. Because It wasn't made with that in mind. Also having to deal with VCSA on the same 6000*6000 map was a load of work more. At the time when discussing with X-Seti I tried to gain the official permissions from Rockstar Games to develop VCSA further more (and maybe bring it back to a standalone version). Seeing as no reply came -- HC drama made it hard ?! -- I decided to stay legal in my mind.

 

 

There was other issues that have bring VCSA out of Gostown Paradise, those were the paths compatibility with SA. In fact it was a real pain to convert them in a steady way. They made the mod crashing all the time. There was maybe some problems occuring with a maximum number of nodes reached in some area, tho optimizing the node number didn't make any benefit. That being said and mind stormed, we after some agreement removed VCSA from GP.

 

SeaNorris being banned -- however the reasons are legit or no -- it was hard for us to keep two mods. We had a great graphical experience with VCSA, and the players liked it, but our scripting side was missing. We hardly had any SCM script, neither good scripters. After that, we faced GP5 lots system limitations, and also I and maybe others have become better at their tasks/skills and I didn't want to keep the old models from GP5. So we felt like we wanted to build an entire new world again.

 

 

But IMO, they should have kept the old island + style. Based on our late 2006 skills we started GP6, an Island with incredible heights in its landscape, a totally new to GTA scenery, and a new way to come to vegetation placement. We made it a success. We also built the city layout (JostVice and I) and made it so everyone could get into easily (lotmap progress/zonemaps/helpers for modelers, starters). The city is still excellent from now on, and we don't see why it should be changed, so in other words, the city will be finished this time, no doubts.

 

GP6 Island was made meter after meter, whithout any concept or discussion. So it resulted into a weird island, with alot of boring places as well as some great ones (the bay). With Vaderios we made some concept art to create a perfect land, something realistic, and fun to play on. The city is still the same, and if modified, it's only its height level going from 500 meters avg, to 40. No other changes.

 

Some empty lots are edited to ease the lot developement and island modeling, but don't affect in any way to what already exist in our GP world.
