It depends on the settings. I'm not really looking for realistic graphics. I already have that IRL. I'm looking for over-the-top graphics. So I add more Occlusion and DOF to have a variety. Uhm, If it can make it look just as good without losing all the performance (If you have an ATi card, for example) then its worth it, not saying that it is worth it, but if it can do that, then its worth it. Tommy-Vercetti19 Posted November 22, 2008 Share Posted November 22, 2008 lucky. my dad just ordered my x-mas present :a ASUS 3850 512mb PCI-Express. i managed to scrape enough money together to buy me a starter desktop though. i have a Compaq presario 2Ghz 1GB ram ddr2.Im gonna overclock the processor to about 2.2-2.3 since its only new and i dont want to push the thing to the limits.Im also gonna get 2GB ram possibly. I've got Corsair ValueSelect RAM in my PC and it used to go for around $25 for 2 1GB sticks about a year ago at Newegg.com. Now they don't even have ValueSelect 800Mhz RAM anymore, which is a sign of how DDR2 is going to slowly fade away. my guess is prices will drop for the next year, then climb quickly once every one is using DDR3.
