Build Up Your Gang

BUYG: Build Up Your Gang

Recommended Posts

radicell

Nice to see the rackets/businesses up - however, in my opinion, they should vary a little. Right now, the ratio of Building Price : Asset Price : Money per Asset is always 40:10:1 for all the assets. I think there should be some variation in this, perhaps a 40:10:1.5 or 40:12:1 or even 38:10:1, or something like that. It's fine the way it is now, but there's so many different rackets/businesses and there's really no difference between buying this one and that one - except for the initial starting price, you'll earn profit at the same rate. I think all assets should have an "edge" of their own: some assets should have a lower building price; some should have a lower asset price, and some should have a higher money per asset. This way, we could have a nice variety of assets being purchased when the gangs start to get rich.

In response to this, I've tried modifying the rackets/businesses a little: Now, as you can see, no two rackets/businesses share the same money-generating ratio. The cheapest four rackets/businesses have stayed the same. Then, as the prices of the buildings increase, each racket/business comes with an "edge": The ones listed in bold have cheaper building prices, the ones listed in italics have cheaper asset prices, while the ones listed in yellow generate more money per asset. You'll see some of the more expensive rackets/businesses have more than one of these edges, and are either listed in bold italics, bold yellow, or italics yellow.

Racket Cost Asset Cost Income per asset
Weed Farm $1400 Harvester $350 $35
Crack Den $1600 Dealer $400 $40
Brothel $1750 Whore $450 $45
Protection Ring $2200 Enforcer $550 $65
Chop Shop $2400 Carjacker $550 $60
Cocaine Ring $2550 Smuggler $600 $65
Fraud Scheme $3000 Counterfeiter $700 $85
Meth Lab $3100 Scientist $800 $90
Business Cost Asset Cost Cost Income per asset
Café $1400 Waitress $350 $35
Bar $1600 Barman $400 $40
Taxi Service $1800 Driver $400 $45
Strip Club $2100 Dancer $550 $55
Garbage Route $2400 Trashmaster $600 $70
Car Dealership $2550 Salesman $650 $75

Can i join the GSF at LB's lockup?

I have a story :

GSF LB's lockup – Chapter one : Story of my life

My name is Mike Smith. I've lived in Liberty city for four years. I was a member of a small street gang...damn, it was so long ago that i can't even remember their name. Anyway, the whole gang was killed. Exept me. I knew sooner or later they are going to cap me. So i moved into Los Santos, San Andreas and became a member of a big street gang called the Groove street Families. They had assets all over the state, casinos, car shops.....everything! They were the protection i needed. So they gave me a small lockup near Groove St.

Every now and then, some of the gang members would come to stash something in the lockup. Mostly vans of hot stuff stolen from houses. My job was to guard it until LB comes and takes the stuff to sell it on the black market. I was armed with and MP5 and a knife. To tell you the truth, it was an easy job. I've maybe spared 10 bullets or so in the last two years on the job. In the lockup, there is an old dartboard. In the last two years I've became pro. I have a little flat next door. It has everything i need, water, electricity,a kitchen, bathroom and a small wardrobe.

Every day i wake up at 6:00 am and go for jogging until 7:00 am when i go to work. As i said before, my job is easy. My payment is about 1500$ a month. Since im single, that's more than enough. Every Saturday i go to „the hood“ and see CJ and Sweet. We ussualy invite the other homies and go to the drive-through, then we would joke to death until someone spills juice out of his nose....

Day 1 :

Did my ordinary jogging routine and came to work a little earlier then before. I was suprised to see everyone from GSF gathered around a box. I came through and saw some new weapons, Tec-9's, Silenced 9mm's, molotovs and Desert Eagles.

After everyone was done taking weapons, i equiped myself with what was left, a Silenced 9mm and two molotovs. I also had my MP5 so you can say i was armed. After that, a black Boxville came by with some stolen stuff. I guarded it whilst shooting darts. But unexpected, a group of Ballas came by. They were sneaking and hiding but i saw them. I took cover behind a box and threw the first molotov at them, two of them were dead but two of them was alive. I sneaked behind one of them and shot him in the head with the silenced and then took care of the other one with my MP5. LB came in about an hour or so and almost tripped on one of the bodies...

''What the f*ck is this???''

''They sneaked in and tried to steal the stolen....''

''Motherf*ckers! They won't try that again.''

''Sure, sure....Say, what was with that new inventory this morning?''

''Oh that, we ordered some from Ammu-nation....''

''Ammu-nation has a home delivery service????''

''Yep. Strange but true.''

''Yeah.''

''Well, i gotta go. You watch yourself.''

''I will, thanks.''

He drove off with the truck, and i remained thinking. What did the Ballas want? Who sent them? How did they find out about this place?Think Mike,think...

TO BE CONTINUED

Here's my second story. It isn't the best, but I'm pressed for time here.

A cold wind blew over Las Venturas. The night was dark. And so I went off to meet Mr. Yaroslav at the V-Rock Hotel. I entered the dank office. And there was the man, with a concerned look on his worn face.

"Yuri, we have a problem."

I asked "What?"

"The Mafia and Triads are going to war. And both sides have hurt us, Triads in particular. Now, we'll strike an alliance with the Mafia, if we can do one simple job. Then, we can take out the Triads, double-cross the Mafia, and take over this town. A Mafia underboss named Johnny Sindacco runs Caligula's Palace. He needs a certain man wiped out before we can make a truce. I need someone to kill the Forelli Family Capo, Vincent Forelli. He's at the Visage, in his office. I booked an appointment for you. Kill him and set the Visage on fire, and we'll end the Forellis in Las Venturas. Then the Leones. Sindaccos, and Triads will follow. Are you in?"

"Da, Comrade Yaroslav. But I have no weapon."

Sergei pulled a 45. from his jacket and handed it to me. He then followed with some extra clips. The barrel was shiny, the handle and the trigger were coated with a special tape that wouldn't leave prints.

So I entered my beat-up Sentinel and drove down the crowded Las Venturas Strip. Only the comforting sound of bluegrass music kept me from going insane on the road. But I finally reached the massive casino that was The Visage. It was nowhere near as massive as Caligula's Palace or The Four Dragons Casino, but it was still impressive to me. I parked around to the back and entered the stage door. The sound of vivid jazz went off in the background. But I had no time to listen. I made my way up the dusty stairway and into the plush red hallway that led to the office of Vincent Forelli. I made my way to a door guarded by a man in a track suit, sunglasses, and silver chains. He was short and stout, and his hair was slicked back. I said "My name's Yuri Androssov, I'm here for my job interview with Mr. Forelli."

He said "Fine, right this way." as he opened the door and pointed to the office. He closed the door and there was Vincent on the phone. Vincent was a young man, he looked like he was in his early thirties and he was wearing a gray suit and tie. He said "Mr. Androssov, I hear you want to be a cashier. I need to ask you some questions."

I shook and shivered, but I pulled out my pistol and fired a shot into his throat. Red mist sprayed about. He let out a muffled shriek and I shot him in the chest, turning his white dress shirt a dark vermillion. I heard banging on the door and I ducked behind the the desk as two Forelli thugs with Uzis fired into the desk, tearing up the office and just barely missing me. I heard a "click-click-click" of the Uzis, and so I jumped up and fired my 45. into the Forelli thugs, getting one in the head, obliterating the back of his skull and spraying everyone with a gory splatter. The other was trying to reload his gun when I fired into his crotch, downing him as he let out a piercing scream. I barricaded the door and doused the wood desk with lighter fluid. Then I lit the match and set the office on fire as I shot out the window and escaped down the fire ladder. I used the last of the lighter fluid to douse the garbage cans near the massive propane tank. I made a trail of fluid and had a pile of napkins at the end of the trail. I lit the napkins and ran as fast as I could for the ditch.

I hid in the ditch and then came the deafening sound of the explosion. I hunkered down and looked into the bright light of the massive fire as it engulfed the Visage. I ditched my gun, because it had the special tape, I didn't have to worry about tracing it to me. I ran further, guided by the firelight and the stars. The sirens of fire trucks made my ears hurt more. But after three hours of walking, I made it to the V-Rock Hotel. I knocked on the back door, demanding to meet Sergei.

He met me at the back door and I said "The dark deed you requested is finished."

He said "Good job. Here's your money." and he handed me a wad of $50 bills.

"Yuri, you should go get a shower and some sleep. Use my other Sentinel." as he handed me the keys. I drove home and entered the living room. Natalia was still asleep. I entered the cramped bathroom and showered. My ears still rang, but I would be okay. After drying off, I went to bed and slept.

OK, so Mr. Angelo is banned now in this new account he attempted to use for sneaking up past everyone who recognizes him.

I'm referring to that Gunslinger account.

EDIT: Angelo made a couple of funny comments on a youtube vid responding to me.

It says:

"What the f*ck are you talking about? I've never been on GTA Forums. You must refer to my son, who killed himself(died of poisoning before paramedics could arrive)

You tards messed with a bipolar kid off his meds. And you guys are lifeless geeks who messed with my son. And he died. Congradulations, you killed a child."

Chapter II Welcome To The Family

The radio played softly in the background as me and Mitch arrived at the Caligula’s Casino, the sun beginning to rise at our back. We stepped out of our Leone Sentinel and Mitch guided me to Salvatore’s office. Salvatore was facing the window when we walked into his office, with a cloud of smoke hovering above his head.

“Hello my good men!” Salvatore exclaimed spinning himself around to make eye contact with us,

“Today’s a good day, you know why?” Salvatore asked taking an inhale off his cigar.

“Because we did well with your request last night?” I replied.

“You’re damn right Johnny!” Salvatore happily shouted as smoke poured out of his mouth, “Now there isn’t going to be damn Sindaccos stuffing their nose into my business, for awhile at least.” he chuckled, “But the reason I got you to come down here is because I wanted to talk with Johnny. Now Mitch, could you step out of my office for a moment?” asked Salvatore politely.

“Sure boss.” Mitch nodded and exited the room.

“Johnny my boy, take a seat.” he said as he poured two glasses of rum from a small bottle hat was resting on his desk.

“Thanks Mr. Leone.” I said as he passed me a drink and I sat down on the mahogany leather seat.

“Johnny I’m very pleased that you got rid of those Sindaccos for me, and I’d like to reward you by giving you a hard earned position as a trusted member of the Leone Family. Welcome to the family kid.” Salvatore congratulated me as he gave me a gentle pat on my shoulder.

“Thank you boss, I appreciate it very much.” I exclaimed.

“Don’t mention it. Now Johnny as your first official mission since those outsider tests you did for me, I need you and Mitch to kill some Sindacco drug smugglers. They have been supplying some gang up there, Da Nang Boys, or some sh*t like that. They’ll be making a shipment at Pier 69 this afternoon. They’ll arrive in a speed boat and transfer to a car, follow them to their drug meet somewhere in Chinatown and kill them!” Salvatore exclaimed..

“Alright, but we aren’t going to scare away drug smugglers with rocks or some sh*t like that.” I joked.

“Got that right kid, that’s why I got you this.” Salvatore said as we walked over to a closet beside his desk, “Come get a look at this kid.” he smirked as he swung the doors open, revealing an MP5, an M4, an AK47 and a large black sack which contained ammo clips. “Rocks won’t bother them, but these sure will.” Salvatore laughed as he passed me the ammo and the guns, “No go have some fun.” he said.

“Thanks sir.” I replied, examining the guns and walking out the door.

When me and Mitch arrived at Pier close to the smuggler’s arrival. The water glistened in the sunlight as we stood by the water, watching with our guns clenched in our hands. By early noon, we spotted a boat coming into shore fast. “That must be the pr*cks now.” Mitch said in a muffled voice with a cigarette grasped between his lips. When we saw them get into a rugged van, we quickly got into our Sentinel and began to follow them, making sure we didn’t spook them out. They didn’t waste much time skipping through red lights and darting past moving vehicles and we arrived on an alley like Salvatore assured, it was in Chinatown. When the Da Nang Boys and the Sindaccos had their deal underway, Mitch and I crept over to the alley entrance and slowly began to make our way into it. The alley was long and rugged. It led to an area that held three old benches, with red umbrellas over top, and four Da Nang Boys inside, awaiting the arrival of thei suppliers I took out my M4 and loaded it, giving a nod to Mitch that we were ready. We stood out behind the wall as we both yanked down on our triggers. Bullets rattled out of my M4 and Mitch’s AK47 as The Da Nang Boys and Sindaccos were unexpectedly pelted with lead, turning them from men to human Swiss cheese. As we took down the last men, we walked over to the immense pile of bodies, marinading in a thick puddle of blood. Me and Mitch sprinted out of the alley and dove into our car, speeding off towards Las Venturas. As we gained in distance from the alley I gained more and more confidence that we would pull this one off, not for long.

We approached the Garver Bridge, and I spotted a few ars parked neatly in a row across the pavement, a roadblock. We viciously smashed into the cars, tumbling them out of our path and spinning our car in a 360º angle. I took a look out my window when Mitch got traction on the road and nervously I grabbed the MP5 on the passenger seat next to me. A white car was gaining speed towards our rear, and I could vaguely spot men sticking out the windows armed heavily with M4s.

“Cripes Mitch put on the gas!” I screamed aiming my gun out the window of our car. The chase was on. We sped up the bridge, dodging cars with great precision as if they weren’t there at all. The white vehicle with armed men I realized to be the Da Nang Boys. They approached the rear end of our Sentinel, smashing it with amazing force viciously. Mitch was in a complete zone trying to keep control of the car as I leaned out the window, firing more lead then the army could use in a week The Da Nang Boy didn’t waste anytime returning fire, blowing our cars back tires into tiny scraps of thick rubber. When I reloaded my gun quickly, I shot back at the Da Nang Boys, popping one of their front tires. Their driver started experiencing trouble when this happened, so I took advantage, fired my last clip of MP5 ammo into their front end and soon after the gang lost total control of the vehicle. They crashed into the side of the bridge flying out the side of the bridge and plummeted into the San Fierro Bay. As I watched the car sink bellow the surface of the water, I relaxed back in my seat thank full we didn’t end up in the bottom of that bay. A very frightened trembling Mitch tore a cigar out of his suit pocket and lit it as we headed back to Caligulas.

When we arrived tat Caligula’s that evening I and Mitch were finally calm since the events late that afternoon, Salvatore was awaiting our arrival out front. We pulled up along side of him in our horribly damaged Sentinel, equipped with bullet holes, no rear tires, and white smoke clouding out of it’s hood.

“Holy sh*t guys I sent you to ambush some p*ssy little gang, and you come back looking like I sent you to assassinate a Don. What the hell went down?” Salvatore said staring at the car.

“Mr. Leone, we did as we were told. Those drug dealers are sleeping in their blood as we speak. But when we were heading back our problems occurred. The Da Nag Boys put up a chase down the Garver Bridge, and we were almost killed if it wasn’t for Mitch’s driving back there.” I explained anxiously.

“Sh*t it looks like those small time gangs are coming up in this place, and that ain’t good!” Salvatore worried as he stepped into his black stretch parked along side of the casino, “I have to go but I want you two to know you did well. A Hell of a lot better then some people would’ve. I’ll be in touch, this won’t go unawarded!” Salvatore stressed as his stretch sped off.

“Well that went well.” Mitch laughed taking out a small bottle of rum and taking a chug, “Want to go get some drinks inside the casino?”

“Sure, we need some after this sh*t show today.” I joked walking inside the casino to fetch a drink with Mitch.

Build Up Your Gang

CONFISCATIONS

This week, 7 gangs will be targeted by the DEA and FBI.

The gangs selected for confiscation are the Vercetti Gang, the Colombian Cartel, the Ballas, the Cubans, the San Fierro Rifa, the Southside Hoods and the Haitians.

VERCETTI GANG

The DEA performed a drug raid on Tommy Vercetti's mansion on Starfish Island, however no drugs were found and they were let off.

COLOMBIAN CARTEL

The FBI received a tip-off about a weapon's warehouse in Aspatria, and a midnight raid was performed. However, they only found Colt. 45s and confiscated them, with Colombian prosecution pending.

- Colt. 45

BALLAS

The DEA also performed a midnight raid on a Ballas safehouse in Jefferson, looking for drugs, however no drugs were found.

CUBANS

The DEA arrested a leading Cuban member in Little Havana last night, however no illegal substances were found on him.

SAN FIERRO RIFA

A burglary was reported on Friday night in Doherty, with a few pieces of jewellery stolen. The SFPD also found a un-registered Colt. 45, which was confiscated.

- Colt. 45

SOUTHSIDE HOODS

There were increasing reports that drugs were being handed out at parties in Wichita Gardens on the week-end. The LCPD stepped up patrol, however no people were arrested for drug offences.

HAITIANS

Ever since the destruction of the drug factory in 1986, there have been no drug offences committed by Haitians living in Vice City, with the VCPD concluding that "drugs within the Haitians are hard to find, but we'll find them eventually."

I think the numbers should be changed. A lot of the time it landed between 1-70, and most gangs don't have drugs. I think it should Weapons (1-70), Vehicles (71-90), Drugs (91-98) and Assets/Rackets (99-100). That way, it will be more difficult for gangs and will provide more of an edge for the police. Just to increase difficulty for a bit, because I think a few gangs are refraining from buying drugs after Flesh-n-Bone's drug addiction.

The way I initially set up the confiscations system was so that the frequency of confiscations (once a week) would be balanced out with what the confiscations take away from the gangs (drugs most likely, and since confiscations were initially designed for drugs only, weapons and vehicles had a lower chance).

I think drugs should still be our main target, as well as to introduce money confiscations. Although the likelihood of a weapons confiscation should increase. So the chance of confiscating each of the following is...

Drugs

1-40

Money

41-60

Weapons

61-85

Vehicles

86-98

Rackets/Businesses

99-100

How's that?

I know you're reading this you snot-nosed little sh*t.

Get a life, go outside and get a tan and embrace life. We banned you because you are a little f*cking pussy who cries about everything, look at your reaction to how we banned you from BUYG, you've tried to sign back up as several different accounts and you even tried to start your own, where the only people who participated was other accounts that YOU made.

If you didn't react like such a little crybaby then we would of let you back in, but since your a complete f*cking retard who even tried to fake suicide I think its better for everyone that you stay away from GTAF. Its just so depressing how serious you've taken this, don't ever come back here again or I will shove my foot all the way down your mouth and out of your ass.

I hope your dad comes home drunk and strangles you.

It'd be quite BS if money gets confiscated. Because does money need license or such? Money is money... Weapons and drugs can be understandable, even cars with reasons but I don't get why money should be raided? Unless the money has come from overuse of drugs, like with the Los Aztecas in the previous topic.

And this Angelo guy needs to get a life with his pathetic ideas, stop cluttering up each BUYG topic with your stupid bullsh*t.

EDIT: I just went to Gamefaqs and read all over that thread, lmao at this prick, he seriously thinks I was there when I have never ever went to the gamefaqs forums, lol what an idiot.

Omnia sunt Communia

Criminals may have their bank accounts freezed if the authorities believe them to be used for laundering of money, or storing money that is been acquired illegally. Therefore having money confiscated is very feasible.

@Everybody: From now on, may I suggest just ignoring Angelo? If we confront him, then we're just fueling his fire. In the end we're either going to end up with a locked thread; or one filled with absolute crap. I know I don't want either.

Agreed. Despite it being oh so easy and funny to bait him, it's best for the topic if we all just ignore him. It'll mean a cut-down in spam, we can report him quicker, and we won't risk a warning from Mods for feeding the troll. Let's just forget about him next time, since he feeds off the attention we give him, despite it being negative.

New Confiscation Rules

Each Saturday, the staff will choose gangs randomly and confiscate from them. As soon as a gang has been "touched" (ie. someone has written for them and altered their monetary status), they risk getting things confiscated.

There is a 40% chance that a chosen gang will lose their drugs. If the gang has more than one type of drug, one of the drugs will be selected randomly and taken.

There is a 20% chance that money will be confiscated from a chosen gang. 1/5th of the gang's funds will be removed.

There is a 20% chance that the gang will lose a weapon. In these cases, one weapon out of the several that the gang owns will be removed.

There is a 18% chance that the gang will lose a vehicle. In these cases, the cheapest vehicle will be removed.

There is a 2% chance that the gang will have their racket or business scrapped. Again, if there are more than one, a single asset will be selected randomly for removal.

Remember, if we choose you for confiscation of something, yet you have none of the sort, you are safe from confiscation. Thus, if you don't have drugs, nothing will happen even if we choose your gang for drugs removal. An exception would be weapons and vehicles: the gang needs at least one weapon and one vehicle. If confiscating these things would bring the gang's amount of weapons/vehicles to lower than one, then the confiscation will not take place.

Staff are encouraged to write short paragraphs describing the confiscations to keep things interesting. smile.gif

Do we still use that site? Like, 1-40 is drugs, 41-60 is money, etc.?

Build Up Your Gang

Petty Crimes
Petty Crimes are random events initiated by the writer. They are an weekly event which could possibly reward active writers with minor prizes. There are three times of Petty Crime to chose from: Muggings, Carjackings and Robberies.

When an Petty Crime is initiated by the writer, there is a certain percentage that the crime will fail, and a certain percentage that the crime will succeed. If the crime fails, the writer does not receive anything, and must wait till next week before they can try again.

If the crime is successful, the writer wins a prize, depending on the type of crime and their luck. Muggings will result in either a reward of money (small amounts), drugs (low amounts of low value drugs), or a weapon (pistols and melee only). Carjackings will give you a car (low value) and Robberies will result in a medium amount of monetary gain.

Before you may perform a Petty Crime the following week, you must write a story revolving around the crime. Whether it be successful or not.

Just an idea I'm pitching to the masses. What does everyone think?

Stefan.

How do we decide if it's successful or not?

Motherstep

I suspect it will be a staff-wide vote, rating the story as we would a regular chapter. I suppose it would work the same way the gang war system would.
