Um, Kane and Lynch is Games for Windows Live too but it's on Steam? Why'd they do something so stupid as NOT to release it on steam? They'd get double money.

i made a little research trying to find games that are GFWL and also in Steam and i came up with these titles: FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage, Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, Universe at War: Earth Assault (meaning 4 out of 10 GFWL games are also in Steam if my source is valid). Also upcoming Call of Duty will be GFWL and i'm 99% sure it will be also in Steam.

 

So it's not impossible thing to happen.

Do they want to get some attention that R* still exists in Steam (maybe these are hints about GTA:IV release?)?

 

Maybe there will even be a special offer for those who have bought GTA collection (although i thing R* is not that kind of a company).

Steam or no steam, I'm still buying the boxed game. I'm just using steam so I can play All HL's, CS Source and TF2.

But Steam are good, they are the ones that actually hooked me up to buying games. Before Steam I was just pirating games...

I think he doesn't know that he can make a backup of a game to the hard disk or write this backup into DVD (at least that i have done with some games).

Ahh, i see. I don't really mind downloading games again as i get really good speeds from steam but i usually send them to another computer on the network for backup.

You don't even have to burn it. Just keep your data on a seperate disk(other than the windows disk/partition), if you are afraid that disk is going to fail get an eksternal hdd and copy a backup to that disk.

1. Get a v1.00 GTA_SA.exe

2. Put it in the San Andreas folder

i have no use for steam and GFWL.... i only use it for playing CS and sometimes the join friends game thing but..... atleast make it steam exclusive not some microsht sht

I'm not familiar with GFWL. So can someone tell me will the GTA IV PC multiplayer have server lists? I know its going to have an update from the console version with the search engine but I just wanted to know if for example, COD4 where you can just choose a server you want to play in. And will there be dedicated servers?

I bought it, and I'm in the UK.

It's not available in Ukraine too.

Steam does not prevent you from modding anything. San Andreas 2.0 does. In the wake of the Hot Coffee debacle, Rockstar ceased celling GTA:SA 1.0 and started selling 1.1 (or 2.0) which does not allow mods. Steam, like everyone else, sells only the latest version of San Andreas which is unmoddable without some form of downgrader or hack allowing mods.

 

If you bought a brand new copy of San Andreas from walmart, it would be no diffrent. You could not mod it either. There are various methods in which you can modify GTA on Steam to be moddable, but it does not change my point. Steam is not to blame for GTA SA on it being unmoddable, Rockstar is and it has to do with all new versions of GTA SA being unmodifiable.

 

Other games are modifiable out of the box, Half-Life has one of the largest amounts, if not the most, mods for any paticular game in existance. Look at Counter-Strike, Look at GMod. To be fair these are all VaLVE games, but still.

 

It is understandable people want a physical media and don't like the concept of only owning a game 'on the internet', but this is why boxed copies of games are still sold.

No, it doesn't. You get a v1.00 .exe from a certain world for game copying.

The search term was the same "grand theft auto", the same machine was used.

 

You will need such software as "Hotspot shield" which is free to use. Steam likes to block you if your IP states you come from a wrong country. Like me and 5 million of my countrymen. We are not allowed to buy on steam and other places.

You can get a DVD drive for 20$ these days, but I do understand your internet situation. Did you mean 50 kb/s or 50 kB/s?
