It was my birthday on monday (1st of September) and this is dedicated to a belated birthday present I received this morning at around 5:30 am.

At least the sunrise was nice:

Had the police come out, full credit to them, they were here within about 20 minutes, but just waiting for the scene of crime people, thankfully work are understanding so I've got it off as emergency holiday for today.

From what I can see, someone smashed the window, leaned in took the radio, then looked for the radio key, then they pulled the seat forward, pulled the back seat down and had a rummage. Don't think they managed to find the key or stole any stuff from the boot, all the bits like my work pass etc are still there.

I feel so poo.

I just really don't need this atm.

Thats f@#ked up man,you bust your @rse off so you can have something that pleases you,

and then comes some little c@#% & stuffs it up.

And if the jacks "do" get the prick/s they get away with a slap on the wrist, but if YOU catch em in the act & bash the s#!t out

of them, yoooou get f#@%ed over by the law anuj_cop.gif No justice bro.

The window has been replaced now, trip to the scrappy's and £20 later.

The headunit is a 6cd changer from ford, retails for like £200. and they found the security key as well, so that's fooked.

Still had the serial code though, so I gave that to the police, they found nothing but smudges though mad.gif

@ Game cheetah: Like I said, headunit retails for over 200 can sell it on ebay for about 100, so they've made £100 near enough $200, plenty for a smack addict.

My insurance excess makes claiming not worth it, £120 window excess, all well and good, but I saved myself £100 by doing the work myself, as for the radio, I'll have to wait and see for that.

I f*cking hate theives, sorry to hear about it especially on your birthday. its been a long time dream to find the ones who try to steal my car (they ripped the steering wheel off to try and get the wheel bar lock off), i'd just love to go to town on the c*nts with a cricket bat and my steelcaps.

Nothing but scum.

I had my car robbed a couple years ago. Seriously, the first time I ever left my doors unlocked. It was raining so I was in a rush to get inside.

Most people "car hop" around here, which is basically just looking for unlocked cars then going through the glove box and center console for money/change and electronics and stuff.

Well I only had my wallet in the glove box which had no money, just my new drivers license (which I just renewed 5 days prior!) and insurance card. Luckily though, the f*cker dropped the stuff down the street and a neighbor brought it over. All I was out was a sh*tty old wallet, and some gained insecurity of the safety of my car at night. From then on I always looked out the front window for a few seconds every time I walked past it. The next f*cker to touch my car would get their legs broken by a baseball bat.

As for you stretch, that really sucks. I only lost a wallet and nothing was damaged, I couldn't imagine the rage I'd have if THAT had happened to me.

That's the main reason why I'd never park my car in the street. Assuming the driveway's full, I'd park in the yard. Anywhere's better than the damn street. Much less likely to get broken into when it's parked somewhere secure.

@!!GameCH33TA!!: Like I said, headunit retails for over 200 can sell it on ebay for about 100, so they've made £100 near enough $200, plenty for a smack addict.

Really? That pisses me off.

I can relate to this sort of sh*t 'cos my brothers Ford Laser was broken into and the stereo removed.

Fortunately, they tried to sell it at the second hand shop that my sister owns so they went to jail, fast.

Our car was stolen once. It was an Audi. We opened our garage and bam, it's gone. Freaking gone. But since it had an aftermarket car alarm installed, I decided to take the remote and go around the neighborhood clicking the button in hope of finding our car screaming back.

I found it. Nearly shat my pants in excitement. The goddamn assholes parked it in a garage like 400 feet away. Good thing my dad disconnected the battery for some reason, so when the thieves connected it back, the alarm didn't go off, and they weren't aware that it was present in the first place. I felt so proud that day. Even the cops congratulated me.

But that feeling does suck, especially the whole insecurity and paranoia you get after the event.

No, addicts usually get 20 or less for head units, power tools etc. Yeah, they'll cost you hundreds for a 20. By the time you discovered the theft, they were probably out looking for more. I got hit years ago, so my cars now have just the factory heads. I keep a killer home system instead, home burglaries are much less common around here.

btw, happy birthday stretch

Damn, that's horrible. What would bother me is not the fact they took the radio, it's the damage to the window: it takes so much time, effort and money to get it repaired (plus the discomfort e.g. weather of driving around without a window).

For convenience, I always put the fascia to my headunit in my glovebox: people that peer through your window think you've taken it out with you, and for them it's not worth the risk of getting caught if they don't even know what stereo you have.

Also, who actually buys the stolen stereos from junkies? I thought they would just give it to their dealer as an exchange, and the dealer puts it on eBay.
