Hodgey.
Its anybodys guess really when R* are gonna say anything about the next GTA, when they have other projects like the DLC and Chinatown Wars. But if i was to guess i would say late 2009 (at the earliest) running to late 2010.
Jaytow
Considering the usual time interval between the major GTA's. who knows, it is possible they wont release it for 4 years. If that's true then in 3 years.. Keep checking the forums everyday
RENEGADEPSYCHO
Well if it's anything like GTA 4 they will set a release date for October... then Microsoft will get their greedy little mitts on it and want exclusive items/maps/missions so then you have to wait another half a year... But if i was to guess i would say late 2009 (at the earliest) running to late 2010. Well, one of the R* Sub-Divisions makes the Handheld games, so they would be in control of that, but i'm sure R* North are working on the DLC, i'm not sure what R* Division is working on Midnight Club L.A (I assume North are), Plus there is L.A Noir, and the yet-to-be-named PS3 exclusive game R* are working on, so it could be at any point in the next year or so that it's announced. WelcomeToLibertyCity
well there was only about one year between vice city stories and gta 4, and gta 4 was alot of work im thinking sooo....
AbSoLuTiOn
well there was only about one year between vice city stories and gta 4, and gta 4 was alot of work im thinking sooo.... Two different R* divisions made those games, with R* Leeds making VCS and R* North making IV, though North did provide some kind of assistance in VCS, i assume they're full attention would have been on IV. Yey different divsions make different games i understand that, like instead of R* North making LCS or VCS R* Leeds did. However R* North were still involved with those games somewhat, but not as much as they would of normally been on a GTA title. That still takes time, but not nearly as much for R* North if they had to make them games thereselves. And i think R* San Diego are making Midnight Club LA and not R* North. dark temptation
Considering the usual time interval between the major GTA's. well at first before IV was released they said where going to kick back and watch the money roll in for a good 3-4 years before we budge again! but IV wasn't such a great success so you might expect it coming out in late 2010? possible 2009 if they rush it? Possibly In December: 2009: 20% 2010: 50% 2011: 25% 2012: 5% And then again this is just by my scale so if R* do "for some reason?" bring it out late 2012 i guarantee they wont be popular and most people would of forgot of the next GTA is coming out by then also there wouldnt be such a big hype! so dont worry people it almost WILL NOT come out in 2012 and 2010 sounds like a fair year they would bring it out but before then they are going to build the hype in 09 so get ready to grip your seats of excitement! DS 17
I think you think too difficult. Look. R* developed a NEW engine and new graphics for the first time. If they develope the next GTA they can take the "old" vehicles of GTA IV and also some impressions of GTA IV. I think that R* never need more than 2 years to release the next GTA. GTA III had also a long time when it was release after GTA II. But see that Vice City came only 1 year after GTA III. I've seen some news before GTA IV was released. There was a redaction of Germany in New York to play GTA IV. Everything was like the other visits of the other magazines but the visitors saw a notice with the next releases. So he asked the employees of R* whether this list is true. The employees hide the list very fast and didn't give him a answer. The visitors were some of the reduction from Fuerth / Nuernberg. I don't know the news yet but this magazine is normally very reliable and so I think it is true. In the news entry stood that there were some notices in the 3th business quarter in 2009. So it can be very realistic that a new GTA will come in winter 2009. I hope that they're right and this list was true but why should write a R* member a wrong list? //Edit: The page I've seen the news entry was www.cynamite.de If you can understand a little bit of german you can search there. Maybe with google translater ^^
Chargr
I believe some sort of GTA will be announced next year, mostly for the PSP if not for consoles. I expect the game out by 2010.

neo92boi
Well look at it this way Rockstar has 4 titles on its way as we speak those would be: 1.Midnight Club LA 2.GTA China Town Wars 3.LA Noire 4.Red Dead Revolver 2 (working title) Now Midnight Club LA is basically done and China Town Wars im guessing is about 75% Complete due to it's Holiday release window, now comes the intresting sh!t. Red Dead Revolver hasn't even been shown that much, there was only a unknown title video at E3 06 for the PS3 conference made by Rockstar which had a western esk to it, so our first guess as gamers would be RDR2 but NO other details have been released on it , and as for LA Noire I do believe it to be in it's begining stages of being made so I thinks is about 0.50% complete. SO LET ME ANSWER THE TOPIC STARTER......... I wouldnt expect to see another GTA anytime next year at all, I predict we'll get our next glimpse of a new GTA title at E3 2010 and even there you would probably have to wait till 2011 for a release

chitoryu12
i think it will be announced between oct - dec this year Not a f*cking chance. Rockstar is planning on their DLC to act sort of like the Stories series in that they provide new gameplay and characters in familiar locales. They can easily get more out GTA IV by adding DLC content that acts basically as new games. They can give those to us and spend more time perfecting the true "sequel" to GTA IV. KageOni
Don't think that would be a half bad idea splitting up SA into its citys. Vegas could easily stand on its own two feet as a GTA City.
