Vercetti21
Why not? It's just proofreading; every good writer does it. I see no problem with it, but I'd confirm that with Phusion first.
Eminence
Regarding the signature - they can't quite be used at the moment, can they? Anyone can feel free to cook up those types of images - people could even include them themselves if they wished to show off. Regarding a medal, however, it's been brought up before and I'm not interested in pursuing the matter, so no. I don't think it's relevant or needed. As for your question, Pat, I'm not too sure; I'm kind of on the fence. I mean, on the one hand, I don't see a problem with it - it's just honing the piece as much as possible before entering it. On the other, I don't know whether I fully agree with having other people proofread it, even when you post it, for example, and then being able to edit it based on their input. As it's a competition, maybe it should be fully down to the person themselves to sort all of that out, not editing any version of it with feedback so that 'what you see is what you get' when voting time comes around. However, this prevents all posting of them before the deadline, which I'm not really in favour of. As I say, I'm on the fence.
Carbine23
The topic is a little easier but i might not be able to dish out a story this month. I think i need to mainly focus on "The Man Who Once Spoke" if i ever want to finish it.
Pat
Taking that in mind, Phil, I think I'll proof-read it myself and hope for the best. All things considered, it would be a bit of an unfair advantage. Now I just have to finish writing the damn thing.
Wanted Assailant
As of now, I'm not inspired to write such a story, but because I enjoy SSOTM, I might pitch in later. Still got weeks to go, but I don't I'll make it in.

I edited mine after you left feedback, just correcting the little errors though, not changing the story much if that makes it okay. Still, I'll just check and double-check it next time and then leave it at that on here.
Eminence
There's no problem with it - as I say, I'm on the fence and that's simply my opinion at the moment. If someone leaves you feedback, feel free to make edits and changes as you wish; there's no rule against it.
Lochie_old
Mm, one side of the fence is that people could get all the help they need and completely turn their story around, whilst someone else just simply goes through nitpicking. I might have a think about this for the next competition, but as for now anyone can proof read the work.

Pat
I'll try to have mine up by tomorrow. I scrapped the one I was working on, however, and started on a new one that no one's done before (unlike the one I was doing, which has been very overdone). When's the deadline again? Eminence
Yeah, not having links is horrible! Lochie_old
I'm missing a story I can tell you that, but I don't know which one. Anyway, links are crap, when this whole thing gets fixed there will be a total re-vamp of the layout topic. (Basically just tables and stuff.) Oh sh*t mudafawkers, the deadline is tomorrow. Poll goes up on the 26th. Edited September 24, 2008 by ~PhusioN~

Eminence
RE: Vercetti and Tony. Why null your vote on the first day of voting? You have until the end of the month to read what, 6 or 7 pieces? And yet you decide to null on the first day because you haven't read them and don't have the time to do so? Seriously, that's just lazy. What's worse, in Tony's case, is that you enter and expect people to read yours, you get votes for your piece, and yet don't bother to read the other entries? Why enter, then? Furthermore, what's the logic behind needing to write more before reading? Reading stimulates the brain and inspires to write - if anything, it should be the other way round. I'm not trying to create any argument or personally attack either of you, but I just find it a little annoying that you can't be bothered reading a few pieces in 5 days. You aren't that busy. Vercetti21
To be entirely honest, if I allow myself to vote, I'll probably just keep putting it off and ultimately forget to or won't be able to find the time to read them. Or I'll read what I can, then vote. Which isn't fair to the others who entered and I didn't read their work. Lazy or not, I'm trying to keep this competition as fair as possible. Honestly, I have the feeling that most of the people who have voted are not reading every piece entered. Just look at the amount of criticism Ronmar got on his Along a Sicilian Road or Tony's Pulse compared to yours. I think a lot of people are biased on which pieces they read and which pieces they don't, depending on the writer. Which is fine, but it's not fair to cast a vote on that writer when you haven't even given anyone else a chance. I'm planning to vote in next month's competition and if I find the time, I may enter. But I refuse to vote against something I haven't read.
