Ok, I sort of hate the multiplayer. I just don't like how it works. Single player is great, though. I probably only have a small bit left. Last part I played was in Shambhala (sp?) where you jump in the river and basically get massacred by guys. Fun fun.

Definitely GoTY for me.

Just discovered a cool addition to MP. Team mates grenades can kill you (at least in the modes I have played) and earlier I got killed this way twice by the same team mate. Whilst I waited to re-spawn a message prompt came up stating he had killed me and that I had the option to kick or forgive him! I kicked him but in cases where it may be a genuine accident this will work very well.

That's not new? It was a feature in the beta...

The game took me 11 and a half hours to complete on hard. Did it in less than two days. tounge.gif

yea the grenade thing happen to alot of people

but it really took me 9hours to beat in that case sly.gif

papanesta: Sure. I don't understand how you can both die at the same time from hand-to-hand combat. It's either I die, or we both die. I've tried blocking, but that doesn't work. Sure, you can run/roll away and then punch again, but it doesn't flow properly. There are few maps, a most of which I hate because of how symmetrical they are, like Temple. I do wish they had more gun choices, but that's not really a big deal to me because that's how it is even offline. The co-op is great. It presents a good challenge, but regular online doesn't seem right to me, except for Plunder, which is awesome (but I'm a sucker for Capture the Flag type game modes). Oh, and the fact that I just plain suck most of the time at the multiplayer also plays onto why I don't like it much. Maybe I'm just more of an FPS person when it comes to online.

It doesn't mean I don't like the game. This is probably my new favorite game simply because of the single player. It's amazing, but I feel that Naughty Dog did alright with a try at multiplayer, even though it could be ten times better.

Yeah Panz, I agree with the melee attack thing, it's pretty ridiculous. I just laugh it off most of the time. I dunno, I've pretty much fallen in love with how fun the multiplayer is, and I don't usually play online at all. I'm level 19 already! blush.gif

I just finished a game, where out team was one man down at the start. I killed 27 people, to 10 deaths. At the end, one of the opposition said:

"Dude, without that one guy, it'd've been... over." biggrin.gif

Just picked up the game for a 2-nighter rent - going to be a long night for me. I hope it's as good as they say it is!

Ah I didn’t know the kick/forgive feature was in the BETA, that said it was taking so long to download I never played it so wouldn’t have known!

Just completed the game on hard I’m quite proud to mention. Nothing better than getting 3 trophies at once! There’s a great exploit for the last boss if anyone has trouble with him too. Great game though, just wondering whether to go through again on crushing mode.

I started the normal method of shooting the blue resin/sap as you ran away, but he always took me out when it got to the stage of his grenade throws. The exploit has you hanging from a yellow ledge and moving around it as he gets near, there are 2 resin/saps nearby that you can shoot as he gets near and keep shimmying around until they regenerate. Just repeat to win!

It is a bit fun, but I take forever to rank up! I think I just get bored after a short time with it. No big problem.

I'd like to hear this exploit as I'm basically at the boss. I'm on chapter 24/25 or something, and I know I'm right at the end of the game. I just don't want it to end. sad.gif Any possibilities of a third game in the ending?

Edit: I post too slow.

I’m sure I read after the first game came out that the game was always going to be a trilogy possibly more if it proved successful. There’s even word now that a possible third would be multi platform (PS3 & 360). Wouldn’t bother me if it was as I think it’s a shame everyone cant sample what a brilliant game and series has been so far.

Panz I got a video if you'd like a view of the exploit.

I've been doing it on crushing and getting all treasures at the same time now I only have to get 2 treasures I missed and that's that done but at the moment I'm at chapter 26trying to kill lazarovic and I've tried and tried for over an hour but just can't do it, it's so damn hardbut now I'm just going to give it a break because when I have a break and go back it always seems easier after. So I should evntually get that done then all I have to get is a few more easy trophies and I will have my 5th platinum. biggrin.gif

A little retro to the first game, I played it more then once, on a new drive, and settings, basically. All I can do considering being BROKE AS HELL.

I was able to get, nearly 50 treasures, and I was lacking more then 10. I'm playing it again because, DAMMIT, the rentals are 2 copies and they go for 5 days a piece, that's for $8 charge, BTW.

Hollywood video in conjuction with Game Crazy, who are closing up shop, still selling a lotta stuff however, get down to your local GC!!

BTW, I hate all you guys because you get to enjoy it, I don't. cryani.gif

Evan Wells of Naughty Dog commented that there was a franchise to be found in Uncharted, not just a one off, however, the development was to be on hiatus if it didn't take off like it did. AND despite those projections, it was the rave reviews rather then GTA type sales status that provoked the ND studio. There well be more then 3 in a trilogy, there's no Trilogy suggestion I heard, there was an idea with Uncharted to take a new approach to video games, I believe Lara Croft was the biggest competitor, like Saints Row to GTA. I nearly rented Underworld this evening, but I just want UC2 so much!!! It's the only game I want to play at present.

Since my GTA4 freezeup, and now a new HDD in my PS3, Drake's rippled clothing is flashing blue in some areas, it may have to do with the BluRay drive that caused GTA4 to freeze up, basically dust on the read mech, or similar locale.

The idea for Uncharted as a series will to evoke film as GTA pays homage to films' past as well. Uncharted strives for that interactive cinema experience and I feel makes the grade!

Taking pages from history and evolving what we don't know. They are as excited about it as GTA in next gen is to Rockstar North. A new level of hardware is not something to just drop and game down and walk, when it's got so much possibility and it's fun and addictive, to me, it always has been

I forgot to ask, but can you unlock some behind the scenes or interesting vids of any type like last time, and there are treasures to collect as well??

Link to comment

There's 100 treasures to collect of which I have all with the help of videos on youtube and there's 7 behind the scenes bonus movies which you can buy with the money you earn in game buy earning medals and there's 8 art galleries you can also unlock with money. Today I got my Platinum trophy for this game, the hardest part in my opinion was defeating zoran in crushing difficulty then it was just a breeze really for the few trophies I had left.

So you don't earn rewards by collecting or finding, you spend money you make virtually in the game? I suppose that's not tied to online currently playing, as done with Xbox Live, for example?

It's interesting. Some of the cut scenes that interact with player control in the first game were seemingly there to show off the blended mechanics, and the long drawn out MYST style intro, mostly about 25 minutes of gameplay on average, before you are beset by bad guys non stop, well, you know, I think Uncharted 2 looks more based in varied combat, at least from what I read and the action snippets

I don't understand what you mean by "currently playing", but in-game money can be spent on things such as behind the scenes videos, character skins (for both single and multiplayer), weapons (for single player, but only on difficulties you've already completed it on), boosters (multiplayer) and tweeks, which alter how the game looks/plays (single player).

Hope that helps? smile.gif

They put a currency sign in front of your medal points and instead of unlocking things when you get a certain amount you can choose what you want to unlock.

I was still hurting for cash, but I sold my PS3 version of GTA4, a different pawn shop, for more money then offered prior, not bad. I pawned my 360 Xbox to just have travelling gas money.

I stopped in Hollywood Vid and they had the two Uncharteds rented, so I looked at vid titles, settling on the new to home vid ANVIL movie, most excellent choice to see for rental. I asked about reserving a copy of Uncharted 2 just to rent, they were saying no dice but it came up on their records that one was in, checked the rack, nada. Looked around the counter and found it! So I know have a 5 day rental or something similar. I can try this thing out, finally. You know, it may just keep me off GTAF for a bit, but I'll be back to gush over it, you betcha!!

Oh, Online Currently playing just was a bad summation of words, I meant that points via the online currency charged for services of all variety, where online it's more common than stand alone games

Imma Bump this, just once (today)

I got the game, and played it hours before work, and hours after. I am in the temple of Napal right now, doing the Myst type puzzles, but what's most puzzling is that the 100 hidden objects on occasion seem far out of reach, what is the trick to get them, and do you suspect you ran past a few in a haste to stay safe? There is some REAL furious action and gunplay, and I have a few found qualms with the animation/interaction. To start off, you have to feel your way, as it's not immediately evident what you should do, luckily there are hints. Some may object to the flashback nature, I know I am not a big fan of that, but it is the best looking game, Crysis MOVE OVER, your time is done!!!

I have to ask when I got into the play of the game, Three Dog Night's tune kept popping to mind, it fits solidly into the game so much so it should be in the credits audio, then fade to traditional classic music, or something a big film WOULD do.

Shambala!!

Some of the hidden treasures have to be shot down with a gun, yes that's right shoot old delicate treasures with a gun for it to fall down so you can retrieve it. So you should also look up everywhere and look for places to go and find treasures, some of them are really well hidden that's why I couldn't do it without help from youtube videos, I only managed about 40 without help.

I got even less than that... 36, I think. blush.gif

32. suicidal.gifmoto_whistle.gif. But I gave up looking at about chapter 18.

I accidentally overwrote my hard completed save game when starting crushing. Looks like I wont be able to use the cheating method to complete crushing.

I did the same, what's the cheating method?

Basically using tweaks in crushing mode while still getting the trophy using this method: Link

Wow, I was so absorbed in gameplay, I didn't read your suggestion, I just put 3 days and 18 plus hours into the game, a rental after all. After much thinking, I opted to play the game over, getting those darn hidden treasures, and shooting is key. How much time I wasted trying to jump up and get them!! Dammit!

Also as this game is more BOSS orientated, may I suggest the key to longevity is Run N Gun, and doing so gains a trophy anyway. I nearly also forgot Stealth moves also includes pulling guys from above off cliffs, you do it once when instructed then have to use it later on your own. I won't give away the sets, the encounters, as you know, a bit like last time, once can expect a supernatural twist!

hahaha

It was hard as hell though, The threat I am not divulging and the more intensely armored baddies who ever increasingly close in on you!

Weapons like grenades and RPGs are prized with a passion but run low easily!

The scenery and sets as you move along at breakneck pace are mind blowing, as mentioned, more of the same lush jungles, and killer city scapes and country side. The game motivates me, except when at the "the tree" I was doomed, every time coming so close to ending Mr. L. (will leave the clues ending there)

Anyone want to discuss via PM, feel free. I have to return it, but I feel the game is certainly longer and more involved, and intricate, and imagine GTA in a place this large?!?!?

IMPOSSIBLE!

Same here. There was one treasure that was in the eye of a statue, and I went over to collect it but no symbol came up so I thought it was just a fancy eye and left it suicidal.gif . If I knew that you were went to shoot treasures then I would have had way more. However today I finally got the 101st treasure after a few peeping at the guides ph34r.gif . The last one was such a simple one aswell.

In other news: DLC news. Looks like there will be some free DLC to go along with some purchasable DLC. No official news of what it could be but I heard that Eddie from the first game may be in. That would make sense considering his 'golden gun' is in the game.

This reminds me a LOT of Resident Evil 5 crossed with some platforming.

Bought the game last night, played for a bit, absolutely entertaining thus far. Graphics are pretty sweet and thought maybe it will get annoying or wreck replay value, I'm totally digging the whole movie like quality of the flashbacks and cutscenes.

Early on you're hanging from a roof, the camera pans down to a guard who looks up just as your guy pulls you up. Very very cool stuff.

The weapons have a decent amount of "jump" to them. I actually owned an AK a couple years back and it didn't jump around as much as the one in the game. The fact I'm comparing a real gun with one in the game speaks volumes about how good the game is.

Checked one Multiplayer mode, the co-op mode where you fight a ton of dudes which ALSO felt exactly like a certain co-op mode in Resident Evil. Played with a guy who was already a level 14. Once I learn my maps, I'll kick ass, I seem to do pretty well with the weapons provided.

Excited to play some more story mode and hoping multiplayer is interesting enough for me.
