I am LOVING it, I wondered the replay value, starting the game over again isn't the downer that UC1 was, where the action was in lull for many minutes, until midway into the jungle setting. Here there are plenty of high stakes and high paced battles, also to bring up the moving set pieces, two major battle locales where the ground shifts, it's MASSIVE, I felt like I was on a ride at the fair! That's a new experience in gaming right there!

Okay, about 60% done with the game. Fantastic.

 

I no longer rush through a game like this, I take my time, enjoy the graphics, check everything out. A lot to look at in this game.

 

I've always hated platforming games. Naughty Dog, however, always had me interesting with the Jak series. I didn't play Uncharted 1 since...I'm lame and didn't know it was Naughty Dog. Now I'm onto this game I doubt I'll go back to the last one but this really is a "must get" style game.

 

It has a lot of different facets, from straight platforming to straight 3rd person shooter with some fighting and stealth thrown in (and that's just a brief summation).

 

Lurking through the jungle, ninja style, killing dudes, then battling an onslaught of enemies on a train then onto Ramsquatch

I finally got my platinum yesterday. I would say the hardest trophy would be the steel fist expert (the one where you have to kill 10 guys in a row with the steel fist combo). Getting the crushing trophy was very hard but just required alot of determination, however it was fun playing the game again. The steel fist trophy was so fustrating because you cant do it on the guys in black and if you kick them from higher ground it doesnt count.

 

I used the marco polo skin online once but prefer using Drake, Tenzin or Victor 'god-damn' Sullivan.

 

When playing in co-op I managed to complete round 10 with some randomers and realised you get a huge ammount of points compared to when you fail at an earlier round. I got enough points to skip level 7.

I just finished the story today and all up it was a pretty awesome gaming experience, although I saw though the small twist at the very end because I had recently watched Hot Fuzz.

 

People who finished Uncharted 2 and seen the movie it will know what I'm talking about.

 

And does anyone know anything about that Uncharted movie that's being made?

Don't know of a movie, it's likely been hinted at along with the idea that was to be a GTA movie. However, as with that game, they wanted the interactive nature of these games to be what people relate most strongly too, a Movie takes away from that.

 

I can't finish because defeating the main bad guy, you know...Mr. L. It proved too tough for me, but can you tell me what happens after? I had to return the game the other night, then my bike was stolen to top things off that day! SH*T!!

 

Anyway, I agree this game is soooo much fun, I'd started it over, and in the Tibeten village Siege, there seemed a new experience while playing it! One word to those outsiders reading.... T A N K!!

For me personally it was the mission called 'Locamotive'. It involves trying to move up a train while it is moving. The scenery is great as you start in the Jungle and head through a tunnel and come out in a snowy mountain.

I bought this on release day and had to stop myself at the Broken Paradise chapter just so I can stretch my gameplay out a bit longer. Definitely one of the best games I've ever played. I'm focusing solely on multiplayer right now which is also awesome. They just need to add a plunder only playlist

For me, it was as I am about to give away, the moving platforms one is standing on, that's what I found actually a unique experience, the massive explosions shake the whole set, and the military heli is fantastic when it pops up on several occasions

Best mission...man that's rough in a game with so much variety.

 

It's more certain points in the game when you, say, headshot 3 dudes, then KO a guy who snuck up behind you, jump up and climb then hang-shoot some dudes and you say to yourself "holy crap, this is FUN"

 

I like a lot of the climbing/platforming levels. If you apply yourself, there are some cool, hard ass routes to some of the treasures and some amazing visuals up in the Himalayas.

 

If I had to peg one mission, it would be the time spent with Tenzig climbing massive Ice caves in the mountains, fighting Ramsquatch, then the seige of the village.

 

That goddamn TANK is just...annoying! That and the automatic gun mounted on top which hits you wherever you are. All I can say is follow the path, move fast, take cover when you need it and be fast with the aim at the end.

 

On another note, my time fighthing pilots on GTA has rendered the chopper battles ridiculously easy

 

I really like how there isn't one way to do everything.

 

My buddy is playing and generally likes to get in close, ninja style while I love to headshot moving targets and yet we've both made it to about the same spot in the game but with different medals.

Rumor: Hugh Jackman front-runner for Drake in Uncharted film

 

According to Nolan North, who was a guest on the latest OPM UK podcast, the voice of Nathan Drake himself stated that Hugh Jackman is on top of the list of actors to play the swashbuckling hero in the Uncharted film.

 

Stating that he himself would like to be cast as Drake, North admits that just having a part in the film would be enough.

 

“I would love to do the movie, obviously I’d love to do it as Nathan Drake, but I’ve done film and television and I understand the reality of the business,” he said.

 

“Jackman is who I’d like to see. I think the producers would like to see Jackman too, because he has that tough guy exterior, but there’s also a lot going on behind his eyes. A lot of emotion and sensitivity on that brusque exterior, and he has great comic timing. He’s a phenomenal actor.

 

“I just hope I get a part on the movie so I can work with Hugh.”

 

Loads of Uncharted fans have stated since the beginning that if a film were made of the game, they’d prefer Firefly and Serenity star Nathan Fillion, if only because he looks the part.

 

Guess we’ll find out once a decision is made.

I haven't played this game in about a week. I hate finishing games because it means it's all over, and I'm also on Broken Paradise. Such a good game.

Best Mission: Climbing with Tenzin, of course. When I first saw that Sasquatch thing, I honestly laughed. Trust Naughty Dog to bring some weird creature to the game. I alos really enjoyed the detail in the village when you first arrive there. The way Nate interacts with the kids with the soccer ball and the kids hiding and even some animals is great.

Worst Mission: Definitely the tank one..That just pissed me off. It took just a few tries, but I hate being forced from where I'm at most of the time.

 

I can't wait to finish the game, but I'm not sure when I will..Probably in a few weeks when I have some free time and/or get swine flu like everyone else in my area.

Panz, you're not supposed to spoil the surprises like that, the beasts, this time are also human in guise, mutants, the Guardians of the treasure, it's not so far removed from an Indiana Jones adventure style.

 

Reminds me of The Village, the creatures were really a ruse to instill fear.

 

The difficulty factor in fighting them is right up there though!

Once you beat MR L he ends up getting killed by the zombies or whatever they are coming out the blue pool in the middle. After that there's just a bit more to go, it starts off with you running across the bridge as it starts to collapse then you make it to the other side and have to kill another zombie thing that's got hold of cloe before they fall off the end. Once that's done then that's the end and Drake ends up going off with elena because he loves her and sully says which way did cloe go because he wants to get into her pants and they all live happily ever after. To be honest I didn't really like the bit where you had to kill lazarovic but it was all good in the end anyway and very enjoyable over all game.

I can't see Sully getting anywhere with Cloe, There is a lot of banter about that earlier, his seemingly womanizing nature "I like HER!!", I bet you do, says Drake!

I just would really miss Sully not being in on further adventures. There is a real nice mix of old and young characters just with him on board.

Well, save future discussion to my new thread for Uncharted 3, but suffice to say, killing the guy, the main bad guy, why did you object to that? It seemed a well enough envisioned mission... and of course, he was really evil, he wouldn't amount to anything good in the World.

 

I wouldn't use the word Zombies, but when you think about it, in a way they were.

I don't know what to call them beasts so I called them zombies and I guess the bit where you had to kill Zoran wasn't that good for me especially when I had to play in crushing mode because it took me over an hour to do but when I think about it now, it wasn't that bad I just shouldn't have got so frustrated but whenever I leave a game for a bit and come back a few hours later it always seems easier to do and I did it with a few attempts when I tried it after a few hours and it was good to see Zoran be killed, the evil son of a bitch!

 

I would like sully to be back in future games too, it was good to hear his voice for the first time when you were in prison and play with him for a bit. And as for Drake and Elena, I would have prefered drake to be with Cloe instead, she was much sexier and fun than her but so long as Nate's happy that's all that matters I guess.

Update 1.01 is out, fixes some connectivity issues in multiplayer (better be those god damn motherf*cking piece of sh*t freezes), and adds penalties for leaving games early, plus a few other fixes. It's 20mb.

 

There's also a double cash weekend on now for Halloween, and Naughty Dog devs will be playing (look for a paw next to their name).

EDIT: Nice. I just updated my game, and the only skins availablein MP are Skelzor and The Dead Explorer. You can't use or buy anything else right now.

Just discovered a glitch. On the level where you and the reporter girl first enter the trainyard, she jumps to another roof, a small portion breaks, he comments that she's taking the easy way down. You then slide down the wire and land in front of a cart which you need to move in order to gain access to the building.

 

I kept pushing the cart even after he said "that should do it" and glitched right inside the building and could walk through certain objects, though at other times my screen turned white and I could only see the sky and distant bad guys. Coming back I then got stuck in the sacks just to the left of the door and had to restart checkpoint.

 

Still and all, pretty cool.

I got one of those glitches that popped up in San Andreas, on PS2, and even GTA3 as I recall, where the bottom and walls gave way graphically and you could see items suspended in space, this was at the time my camera was handy so I filmed some aspects of it, will add that to YouTube, I nearly forgot about that!!!

 

I had been wanting to ask about those promo UC2 T-shirts you see the crew wearing ...The new game SWAG?

Is it available anywhere for us to buy? I feel I need one of those shirts for every day of the week!!

 

I know the scene below the watertower you refer to, I found instead of pushing the analog, I was rotating it like the last Uncharted and that doesn't work so smooth! I did that for some time, before I noted you push and hold when the animated controller icon pops up!

Yeah, the tank mission was rather the hardest and most annoying in the game I guess. Had to try a few times. You avoid the maching gun by running up towards the tank though and hide behind it. It won't be able to hit you. Having soldiers firing rpgs at you when you didn't know where it came from doesn't help too.

 

Btw, I really enjoyed the locomotive mission alot too.

Okay, turns out the patch didn't fix the competitive freezing. I played a match for a few minutes, but decided to leave for some co-op after so many unnecessary deaths and missed kills. Then I had to stare at the leaderboard for 30 seconds thanks to the new penalty system for leaving early.

 

Anyone else get it? I think it might something to do with my connection. The weird thing is that everything else goes on perfectly, it's just me that stops. And dies.

I looked at EDGE magazines article cover story again, an interesting read after you're familiar with the final product. I went back and read PSM's article on GTA4 after playing as I did with EDGE's cover story that was scanned here at the time, I saved those old scans, when we were getting away with that sorta thing.

 

What's interesting is comments suggesting things about the game versus personal play experience, I still don't think they're Spot-On, which leaves reviews in question status I'm sure! haha

 

Anyway, They nailed the interactive movie aspect. Hope it's not long before another in the continuing saga is unleashed! I wondered if fans of this game tried the new Lara Croft adventure to see how they stack up, I nearly rented that as it was available, even now, when Uncharted 2 is still out. (Hollywood Video rentals)

Oh WHAT THE F*CK. I decided to try some more co-op today, and once I get past the welcome note I get a message that went something like "We noticed you didn't finish the last game you played, we've fined you $40,000." I thought you only got a delay for the first offence, but still no big deal. I could make that in 2 minutes of SP.

 

But no. It turns out the money they take from you is your freaking RANKING MONEY. Meaning I'm back to Rank 1, with $0 earned. I kept my boosters, but I only had 2 anyway.

 

So anybody that leaves a game because they aren't having fun, or the people who get disconnected get fined. $40,000 is nothing for high-ranked players, but for people just starting out it's a kick in the balls.

I've been in so many games where you have two guys whining that they didn't vote for whatever mode we ended up in and then leave right as our team is making progress (which then f*cks everything up because we have to migrate hosts and are now 3 vs 5). I like this
