pyramid head
For anyone playing the game on hard difficulty try this Easy Funicular Wait In Picus Communications, when you have to wait for the Funicular to come up, there will be enemies that will arrive to fight you. Before you hit the elevator button, block both entrances into the room with heavy objects. This is only possible if you have the Move/Lift Heavy Objects augment. There are two vending machines outside the room, two crates (one short, one big) next to the security computer, and the turret in the center that can be used to block the lower doorway and the side corridor. If you block the doorways correctly, the guards will stay in another room outside the whole time you're waiting for the Funicular. It would be wise to save before you hit the elevator button in case the barricades don't work. Saw this on a Deus Ex forum Mr. Moviephone "Worried you'll lose your girl because of your lower body augmentation, get the Cyber Stud genital augment! You will stay up all night. She'll beg for more and then beg you to stop, that's the Cyber Stud promise! Available in Black Beauty, White Knight and Palomino color schemes (Vibration mode standard, genetic material expulsion device is a 500 credit surplus + extra cloning fees)" No wonder the Humanity Front hates augs so much: "Once you go cog you never go back." I just crawled into the small vent behind some of the heavy crates, underneath the funicular entrance and the guards never found me...
Tycek
New info for fans of Deus Ex: The Missing Link will be released on October 18th, 2011 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in North America! Will retail for 1200 MSP / $14.99. In Europe, it will be released on October 18th for Xbox 360 and PC, and October 19th for PS3, and priced at 1200 MSP / €11.25 (PS3) / €10.99 (PC). Congrats to everyone who participated in the treasure hunt! You're the best ♥ Damn, I was counting on 560 MSP, maybe 800, but 1200 is a little too much for 5 hours of gameplay. I think I'll wait for Missing Link's price to drop and spend my points on Forza's add-ons.

baptiste
1200?! Guess I'll be putting off going back to Deus Ex for a little longer. It is 5 hours though. Considering the main game was 20-25 hours, and you probably paid 50 Euros/dollars or maybe even 70 for the main game, it is at the very worst equivalent. Not aimed at you, but I'll just use this opportunity to point it out, people have to start taking into account the actual content of the DLC rather than classifying all DLC as the same and then looking at the price. Of course in this particular case, they might have inflated the time or whatever, but you get access to new augments, probably a few extra weapons and a few storyline changing decisions giving you the opportunity to replay it+whatever extra cool thing thats gonna be in there. I dont know, I guess I'm just saying that because its one of the DLC that seems the most worth it that I've seen for a long time.

Daz
WHY THE F*CK does throwing an auto unlocking device alert enemies? Also even silenced guns, and having a fart in a wind tunnel. Lethal takedowns also alert enemies and there is not one point in even doing this EVER, I can't bring myself to not loot the f*ck out of every area even in speedrun playthroughs, my ammo wont stack any larger than 50 and it makes me want to hang myself, because I no space to carry sh*t, the sniper rifles f*ck up if you put lazer sights on them and you lose the scope crosshair accuracy, and it doesnt even kill f*cking heavies in the head, neither does pistol AP rounds, only takedowns and tazer. May as well just stab myself now. No alarms has ruined this game. This game is good 90% of the time but that extra 10% can F*CK YOU THE F*CK OFF. Also f*ck that dlc, I like getting DLC but 1200 for missions, is just stupid. Once its done, its done, unlike other dlc that add map packs, weapons, outfits etc for the existing game that lengthen the existing lifespan of the game. So I wont be getting it for that reason. Darkshade12
Just finished the game half an hour ago. Now i am a veteran Deus Ex player (Bought the original back in 2000), i must have plated and completed the original Deus Ex game around 50 times (and i'm still finding new things). I have to say at first i thought this game would be like invisible war and be no way near as good as the LEGENDARY original Deus Ex. I am glad to say i was wrong. This game was epic, they did a really good job at putting in what made the original game so good. I like the reference to the original game after the credits roll Man i remember the good times i had when the original came out, i can't belive how fast time has passed. Hearing the DX1 Music at the end just gave me a rush of nostalgia. Was also kinda sad thinking about how all that time has passed.
mrpain
Need motivation to buy this game. After seeing some positive comments about this game, I'm curious. All I know about this game is that it's a FPS. It is a RPG too? Is there free-roam? Is there conversation like Mass Effect or Fallout?
Creed Bratton
It's a stealth RPG more than it's an FPS RPG. There are some conversations with characters but not like in Mass Effect. Those conversations are mostly like boss battles. You need to convince various people to do something for you. If you fail you'll never get the information or you'll have to find another way into some place. It's pretty awesome. It is kinda free roam, like Mass Effect. There are city hubs you can go around and take various missions from NPC's. There aren't a lot of these missions, but they are not short. They feel like real story missions and everything you do in the game seems important all the time. So you'll never feel like you're wasting time. It is really an amazing game. There are so many different ways you can finish a mission, so the replay value is awesome. You get Praxis points when you reach a new level and you use it to upgrade your augmentations. These upgrades actually matter. Depending on what you upgrade you're building your character and you get to be able to do things you couldn't do before, which opens up more freedom when doing a mission. Weapons are also very cool and you can upgrade all of them with some cool stuff like silencers, explosive rounds, laser sights. And those upgrades change the way your weapon looks like. There are also damage upgrades, ammo capacity and reload speed upgrades. Choosing which weapon you'll use and upgrade is also a tactical choice. You won't be able to upgrade all weapons with all upgrades. And you can also finish the game not killing anyone except bosses in boss battles. The only thing people actually complain about are those boss battles, because you can't avoid them, and in original Deus Ex you could simply escape from a boss battle. But I didn't care because they added more challenge.
mrpain
Wow, you actually typed out the perfect summary for me! Cheers! Sounds like a really cool game. Been a while since I played a stealth game. Gonna sell off RAGE and get this game for $40 on Saturday. Arkham City can wait till next month. Creed Bratton
Well, it doesn't have to be a stealth game if you don't want to play it like that. But you can clearly see from augmentations you can upgrade and from gameplay design that even the developers think of it primarily as a stealth game. Action is always a choice. But it just doesn't feel right to me. Whenever I end up in a firefight I feel like I f*cked up. But that's just me because I prefer stealth in all games that allow it. G The Generous
^after shoot him, hide somewhere in corner, wait until he appear, he will have no idea where to find you and all you need to do is f*ck him behind his ass. don't try to shoot him too much though, you should run immediately before he draw his gun. would be much easier if you have upgrade your armour with EMP shield

mrpain
Just bought the game. The cutscenes are superb, the music is really top-notch and controls are easy to get around. But I'm not liking it. It feels like a Game of the Year contender but something about this game just puts me off. May have been the difficulty or the slow start but I'm just not liking this game. This is just isn't my type of game. Oh well, glad I bought it for $30 at least.
