Can I ask how you got the silencer? I'm loving the stealth and hacking approach. Anyway, if you want the PEPS gun early on, just get to the armoury in the police station--you'll need level 3 hacking. I got it as a reward for a mission, I'm honestly not sure which, but it was in Boston. If your past Boston and dont have it its probably a secondary mission so I'd say Cloak and Daggers. Just an informed guess though, I honestly cant remember.
JOSEPH X
I had already got to lvl 3 hacking, but I've had about 5 goes at the sewer door but it's just too quick. I've been killing Ballers4life for the past couple of hours - found a pocket secretary on a baller with a code to switch off an antenna, so I went and did that, then got a call from Pritchard, "Jensen, what have you just done?" Jensen (sheepishly) "I found a code to switch of this antenna, thought I'd block their communications" Pritchard, "Hmm, interesting!" I couldn't stop laughing, so fkn random I'm currently hacking bonus items from the locks from Sarif HQ. If you're quick enough you can get some stoppers to give you more time when hacking other doors. They take up inventory space, and you can only use them once. Is it the third of the three signals, or the second? They're both a bit of a pain. One is half-way up a wall and difficult to spot unless you know where to look. The other, the pip on the map sends you the wrong way- you've got to go a long route over roof-tops or find one of the ladders (requires high jump aug). When you find the area swarming with Belltower mercenaries, you got the right building. JOSEPH X
Has anyone else had trouble completing Cassandra Reed's quest? When I tell her what happened I get an empty dialogue box which I can't get out of, and then I have to reload.
Abel.
Has anyone else had trouble completing Cassandra Reed's quest? When I tell her what happened I get an empty dialogue box which I can't get out of, and then I have to reload. I didn't experience this. Have you done everything required for the quest, namely investigating both offices and confronting Wagner? I don't mean to sound patronising, but I didn't experience this glitch after doing all those tasks; maybe it's a glitch seen only on the Xbox? baptiste: Thanks mate. I didn't get it from Jenny in Cloak and Daggers, maybe you need to remain unseen in DRB territory to get it? By the way, I'm finding the cloak augmentation pretty useless, given its power draw. I'm thinking of getting the Icarus landing system, but it's probably only good for getting out of situations quickly, not getting to hard-to-reach areas; it's also not very subtle for a stealth player. JOSEPH X
I didn't confront Wagner, but I got all the evidence from the offices and the lock-up, Pretty f*cked up it giving you the option to finish the quest and then freezing like that. Just did a google search of "deus ex cassandra reed bug" and there's a lot of people getting the same experience. Is Wagner only available if you convince the desk guy to let you in? Isn't an issue on PC. I completed the quest by confronting him, and it all worked fine for me. I believe you can confront him without convincing the desk guy to let you in, as I didn't. G The Generous
finally! I'm finished the game. it's not really what I expected after all, not really long and the story is not really much intense as I expected.and I thought Adam gonna die in the end for the humanity. however the ending was really meaning. I choose to follow Darrow conspiracy because human should remain human.still, the story is a bit unclear and there are still many thing to do. I hope Eidos team will remake the first Deus Ex,as you can import your save game from HR and process the ending you choose.to know what happen to Adam and what happen to your decision. and the secret ending was f*cking awesome, I'm ready to play Deus Ex 1 again. and yeah... can't believe it! that Megan Reed BIATCH!!!! it was a great game. I have spend 4 days to end this. well, in fact it's end soon than I expected but still, it will be hard to forget all the awesome moment I had in this game Edited August 29, 2011 by badboy_zay
JOSEPH X
sh*t bitch, I dropped the tranq rifle to pick up the rocket launcher which was as much use as a tube of smarties against Barratt. I'm going to have to play this again straight away, I abandoned Motherly Ties and went to Heng Sha.
pyramid head
Good game so far, i'm outside Sarif Industries after meeting Adam's girlfriend's mother, took a while to get out the front door to meet her, i was hacking every door i could hack and exploring every part of the building i could access looking for collectibles. sivispacem
Just finished the game. Chosen the equivalent ending to "New Dark Age" in the original. Game says something about "stay tuned" 2200 GMT today, may be announcing additional content. Hopefully, it will include downloadable versions of the pre-order DLC which was supposed to come with the sodding augmented edition in the first place, but didn't. Minic
So i'm sorta stuck i the medical place in China, I have to get some kind of identity pass to go through a door that some guard is, well, guarding, i figured out that i can go into the security room though a vent and access a computer that may have the info on it, but it's a pain to hack and i keep messing up o it right at the end of the hack sequence, any pointers? JOSEPH X
Those guards are dumb they don't notice a big box has just made its way to the middle of the corridor. Tchuck
Finished it as well, 31 hours after starting. I chose the Sarif ending, mainly cause I agree with his reasoning, that man was made to conquer his difficulties and overcome barriers, the augmentation allowing him to go far beyond his wildest dreams.. Really enjoyed the ride, will sure play it again, this time taking a more killer approach, killing everything in my path. Also, I really, REALLY regretted getting the chip upgrade in Shanghai. I had a feeling that it would come out to bite me, and it did. Made the fight versus the merc leader nearly impossible. Luckily I stumbled upon the Turret way of killing it, and managed after a few tries. By god was it hard though.

G MONEY $$$
I just wanted to get a couple opinions on how this game might play for someone who hasn't played the first two games. I know it's a prequel so I would assume you don't really need previous knowledge of the story, but would it be more enjoyable to play the first two games first? I'm definitely willing to play the first two but...as I'm strapped for time these days, I might also want to skip them.

There are cross-references to certain incidents from the first game in particular (I can't find any reference to the second so far) but they're largely humorous filler. Stuff like comments from staff members if you walk into the women's toilets at Sarif and the suchlike. Found my first game-breaking bug this morning. One of the idiotic augmented bangers on the Detroit level fell through the floor so I couldn't "neutralise" him for the side quest. Bit of a pain. Tchuck
Yeah, I've had a couple enemies falling below the floor, making it impossible to hide their bodies or loot them. But it only happened like, 5 times through the entire game, so not too bad.
Creed Bratton
That never happened to me. Is that on PC or console? I'm playing on PC. I just beat the game. I tried every ending, and Sarif's ending just seems like a right choice. I'll definitely replay this at least one more time. Amazing game all the way through. meta187
So yea, I guess I'm a bit late to the party. I just got done stealthily ransacking the police station and had a blast doing it. I keep waiting to hear something in the news about an entire police department being discovered mysteriously unconscious. Anyways, the one laughable thing in this game so far is the Just Cause offensive stereotype voice acting on some of the characters. Letitia is straight up Aunt Jemima! Apparently, I wasn't the only one who noticed. The YT comments on this are hilarious. Letitia is the worst thing to happen to black people since apartheid. Well, SHEEEyiiit! lol. meta187
Yea, I remember. "African Child is the worst thing to happen to black people since apartheid." One thing I did notice is there is a girl in your main building in the front lobby on the 2nd floor, near the beginning of the game that dresses and looks exactly like Letitia only a little cleaned up and talking normal. She's chatting on her cell phone about how she's going to be late coming home. I just listened to it again, sub in the word "massa" for every time she says "Cap'n" and sh*t gets real.
