Thanks anyway. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table> <!--QuoteEEnd--> No, I meant 1920x1080, as per the last one I looked at. To be truthful, they're in 1920x1200, 1920x1080, and 1600x900 as original shots. And as for most monitors being 16:10, you know as well as I do that 1920x1080 displays perfectly on a 1920x1200 monitor, albeit with 120 pixels of letterboxing. Also don't forget the fact that 16:9 implies a horizontally wider field of view than 16:10, not a shorter vertical FOV. Albeit camera mods are bound to come out to resolve this for those of us that like to use every pixel our monitors can display. Thanks anyway. themerchant8
" I have a question for you PC gamers, how often do you have to upgrade your hardware to play the latest games on highest graphics settings and when you do how much do you spend?" I dunno, because I find it a waste of money to do that. Generally,we only upgrade when our games begin to have to be run on medium, which is about a year. There are exceptions, however, during price wars you have some kick *** parts being pushed out at insanely low prices, and everyone in their right mind with cash usually flocks to upgrade. That's the expensive way of doing things. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Really, it's not that expensive when you stay away from shops like Best Buy which overcharge notoriously (I got my videocard for $100 when they were charging $400 for it. I was like O_o). Heck, A gig stick of RAM is like $20 now. You can get an 8800gt which is a high end card that maxes just about everything besides Crysis for about $100. And it can handle Crysis on high with some very high. CPUs don't become obsolete nearly as fast as GPUs, and if you got a rig with a quad core you shouldn't need to upgrade your CPU for quite a few years. =========== <b>All in all, my rig is worth about $450 now, x2 3800 1.5gb RAM and 8600gt. Plays a lot of games on high setting, a few maxed. However, it's starting to run some newer games on medium. I could have done better though if I had waited a month and gotten an 8800 for the same price as my 8600 (which has half it's performance)</b> =========== And our games are usually only $40 new in comparison to $60 console games. That difference adds up FAST and makes PC gaming actually cheaper if you play your cards right.
Dillyracer
I never understood why people play these games with wheels tbh. one hand driving, legs control the pedals, other hand aiming with mouse and shooting. walking and flying in done on keyboard. now tell me that you "never understood why people play these games" without wheels. I still don't see the difference, but whatever suits you. And I do have the same wheel as you.

Because switching controllers is silly and GTA games don't focus enough on realistic drving to bother using a wheel.. For racing games, hell yes a wheel is by far the best... From your sig it's clear that you're addicted to your wheel, but give it a break - you are in teh minority on this particular issue. Be happy with it relax. an wait impatiently, like the rest of us. DjMiikkii
since the max resolution will be 2560x1600 im guessing this game probibly wont be a easy game for pc's to play. i mean its not crysis but any game at that res would be damn power hungry! it might also explain the no Anti-Aliasing in the screenshots......hmmm Edited August 23, 2008 by DjMiikkii

For instance, I'm going to us 1680x1050 because that's my screen's native setting. I doubt I wont be able to max the game out, since there are minimal graphical updates. =( I'm going to have to try out enbseries for GTAIV. Oh and for the one that said "I dont want GTAIV to have Crysis game engine" Crysis has a very very customizable graphics engine which can be modded easily to suit your pc. The text file which you edit looks just like the enbseries text file, except it has much more graphical power for pcs that can handle it.
nlitement
HAHAHA once again, the console version is just a beta version the PC version is the final version.
MrKlorox
Because switching controllers is silly and GTA games don't focus enough on realistic drving to bother using a wheel.. Being able to pick up a controller for precise driving, and dropping it between my mouse and keyboard during on-foot parts is/was incredibly handy with San Andreas. However I doubt this will be possible in GTA4 until Racer-S/Stretchnutter or somebody else releases an app similar to SA Advanced Controls. GTA4 PC will likely use xInput, which is why it will map to a perfectly 360 controller without need of configuration, but also requiring a setting change in the menu to switch back to/from M&K (like Bioshock... which was pointless with a controller, unlike GTA). I've never played GTA with a wheel, but it seems like it would be weird using it for driving while using M&K on foot. The SA Advanced Controls app had settings for force feedback wheels and expanded vibration options, but I never got to try them all out (except a few vibration options... controller rumbling on explosion or ticking on suspension shift is always better than not). Moustacheo
I don't see why so many people are so hung up on graphics - sure, I love the graphical improvement over the last generation of GTAs but that's not what why I'm so hyped about the game. Like CC said we have some slightly improved graphics, expanded multiplayer and replays which is great and we can't realistically expect loads more than that. I do share Truxter's concerns about the replay function's memory usage though. I don't think it'll be a problem for me personally since I got a new rig last December, but for many it could be quite important to be able to turn it off.
