I even played those later on on emulators on my PC (like FFIX and Broken Sword, Resident Evil). As things are looking now, console gaming has become a perversion of reality. Old PS was unbelievably sturdy and well done. You could put a lot of strain on it. And there were great titles. In the end I ended up breaking mine in a rage attack over some dubious referee call in Ana Kournikova smash court tennis but most other units (my friends still have) are still playable. Then PS2 came. ALL PS2 my friends had broke down. On of my mates got three of those crapboxes. At least there were nce PS2 titles. Now there aren't almost any classical action games on consoles. It's all about sports and FPS shooter (which are not even native to consoles input method). I just don't see anything interesting about it. Like most people here don't. So they get a bit off in their discussions. I thinks it's still polite enough and at least it is based on some facts. And to finally get on topic, those screens look nice. But, at this moment, I'd accept a free Xbox. ...I'm getting a new rig in two months, and another $300-400 extra spent is $300-400 wasted. And goddamn it, give up about the gloves. n00bster Posted August 21, 2008 Share Posted August 21, 2008 (edited) no offense but after seeing those graphics, i dont think i'll be upgrading my graphic card. wtf there so small and compressed into a sh*tty resolution. is it me or the screens? on the side of multiplayer, there has to be a limit. more than 8 players and then we start to see some lag and gameplay becomes unbearable as is the case with every game. so overall it depends,, bit i guess 8-16 is fine but 100 is a bit too far-fetched. 100 and it will sound like a demolition derby or something f*ckin laggy sh*t everywhere lol. but yeah? the main features of pc gta is there, replay feature, multiplayer (like every pc game has it now), there just enhancing the graphics *sigh*, shouldnt they be concentrating on the gameplay? i mean graphics dont mean a lo to gta, gta is all about gameplay. it kind of sux that there concentrating on visuals and polishing it up. im dissappointed? (waits for a fanboy) nowadays graphics are like same for every game, so really i dont see the point in improving gfx. i know that rockstar has foxused on graphics and realism? what for to give please to graphic fux3rs like myself and som other guys here again gta4 was a failure to some because of lack of gameplay? sigh and they focus on gfx. I know it's not the final buid,but take these standarts seriously. we're not in 2006. Now it looks as lame as any other B game. One more thing,we need global illumination. prepare for the new age,GTA IV is no match for oncoming raytraced games of 2009 and on. Here's why: It's R*, and it's the PC version, you do the math, and quit blurting out these fancy words like "mechanic occlusion for shadebumpers". You know the stuff, we get it. It will be improved over console versions and it is still work in progress. So it's the consensus that you get a better deal (I.E, the graphics); they look better than the pre-release console screens. But I must admit, if the graphics are not any better than that, then I might stick with just the console version for now. Although, they are going to be better than that, when maxed out; and of course you've got features like the replay editor, mods (hopefully) and allot more to help me seal my (and many others) copy.
