these news are beyond great! im so happy!

 

im a big editing and cinema fan and i hope the replay feature will include free camera and good enough editing to make some good action sequences.

 

beyond that im waiting to hear about more ppl on MP. yes, it sounds reasonable that the player cap will be upped but im not gonna raise my hopes up until it's official.

 

the only announcement i am really waiting to hear is that the PC version will be MOD friendly.

once they admit that i can die happy (after playing the game, of course. dying before will be pointless)

ON TOPIC: The 1up.com preview words the search filters option a little more vaguely:

 

Rockstar mentioned that GTA4 on PC will also offer improved searching and filtering to find the type of multiplayer games you're most interested in joining.

 

Yes, pistols or location are obvious options, but I kinda wanted to read that statement as an allusion to multiplayer mod support.

Based on the Screenshots the games visuals still look pretty average as far as PC graphics are concerned these days even though R* 'polished' them when compaired to the blury console versions.

 

Those who said this game would look about the same as Assassins Creed on PC where right.

 

Cant wait for GTA:IV PC and get on MP Lan/Online and have a great time!

 

On a side note Graphics has never been GTA's strongpoint, and while GTA:IV looked very good last year and the year before, this year it looks quite outdated.

 

Where GTA:IV is especially lacking is Textures.

 

Its strong visual points are effects, filters and some models.

 

At least it has a great physics engine to really add to the gameplay.

after reading the news about the 360s DLC I think that M$ are hinting at a possibillity of it coming to PC too!!

Well I wouldn't say I "hate" them. It is more along the lines of "I already have something better than them" in other words a PC

 

Let me put it another way it is a bit like telling the owner of one of these :-

Anyway I am getting a lil bit off-topic I think. Overall I was pretty pleased with what I read and saw at Leipzig. There are some nice extra features that could be fun to play with. I mean sure it would be nice if the graphics totally blew the console versions out of the water. However that was never realistic, after all Rockstar wouldn't want erm certain sections of the gaming community to feel too erm "short changed" shall we say.

We are just celebrating.

It was rough going for us for a little while.

we got shoved around by millions of console freaks. and laughed at when

release news had nothing to do with pc. And pretty much shoved out of every

thread because we didn't have a way of playing the game.

 

Practically ostracized.

 

Called cheap, and told we where poor because we couldn't afford a console

as apposed to the consolers accepting the fact that we just don't want a console

for what ever reason we have.

 

But now we have a place to talk. We can't mingle with the console gamers

just as a conversation goes good, they start talking "traingle button,c button"

blah blah blah. Again we are excluded. Instead to saying "punch button"

or kick button.

 

Do you see why the mentality seems shallow?

triangle button?/???? when I hold a console controller I never look at the buttons

I just mash till I memorize location.

 

Pc we set our own buttons. no combo buttons triangle square and Y

 

screw that ... J button will do that move and #8 will do another move.

 

There aren't very many kids coming in here with a great gaming machine who don't know what they are talking about.

I mean in the start it's asking what parts to get and why. We tell them. they learn there are tons of console kiddies who think in square triangle right button left button.

 

Pc gamers feel as if they earned their status. It's not a better than lesser than.

And why should you? You are free to leave at any time. Those images are a bit too much, but they show the relations in real world in a funny fashion.

 

I don't want to turn this into pissing competition, but let's face facts.

 

-upgradeability (this is not actually a word, but Ill let it fly)

PC - all you can afford. Not really necessary, you can do it once in 4-5 years (if you buy a decent PC to begin with)

consoles - none

 

-price

PC - if you buy a nice PC it will be more expensive in the beginning, but the price difference will be accounted for when you start buying games.

consoles - cheaper to start with, but games are more expensive

 

-exclusives

PC - has a lot of them

consoles - this is subjective of course, but the only console title I would liek to paly now is a stolen PC franchise.

 

-functionality

PC - I don't need to explain this

consoles - Gaming.

 

-reliability

PC - a lot. They can work 24/7 for weeks and months

consoles - the reported malfunction rate of 30% for x360 is a lot. Even when you compare ti to cheapest and most crappy PCs.

 

What is there left to discuss?

No, I am just saying, I have never been entwined in a PC discussion like this before. I am a fan of PC gaming, sure I love my PS3, but I also enjoy PC gaming as it allows for better visuals, modding, and better controls (when re-configured). I really, at this point, don't care about the PS3 and 360 bashing. Sure PC's are way better, but if I wanted to play games like COD4, on a PC, I would need to get a new rig, with atleast a $600 price tag. I can get my PS3 for $400, same visuals, and a Blu-Ray player, but PC's won't need Blu-Rays for quite some time now, so that gets thrown out of the argument.

 

@mkey82: I agree on all of your points, and that is one of the reason's I love PC gaming, but I also love console gaming for it's exclusives just as much.

 

@Truxter: I am over that crap of why something is better, and I need to create a topic to prove otherwise. I respect all points in what you are saying, but it also comes from where you first start gaming. I started wit PS1, and I loved that. The only PC games I played at 5 were point and click Mickey Mouse games. So I guess that's why I was always turned off by it, but now I really enjoy it.

 

But I still love PC gaming, and console gaming (except for Wii).

but it comes from where you first start gaming. I started wit PS1, and I loved that. The only PC games I played at 5 were point and click Mickey Mouse games. So I guess that's why I was always turned off by it, but now I really enjoy it.

I started out on PS1...

 

But after playing some Hardcore PC games, I wouldn't ever go back down to Console gaming, and I would hate to hav to put up with that RROD (Red Ring Of Death)
