hibernation
Sometimes the state government seems to forget that LC is rapidly growing. All too often there is not enough services or facilities to go around. A Bohan families nervous wait for the only ambulance serving their area last week highlights how existing infrastructure and services are failing to meet the needs of the region. Algonquin with a large population, is not a tiny country town. The area like everywhere around it is growing. Frankly, Bohan needs more than one ambulance at any given time. The family of a twelve year old girl who was knocked unconscious in an accident at school last week told our top reporter of their distress at the longwait for an ambulance. The childs mother said a paramedic rescue unit arrived to care for her daughter because the only ambulance inthe district was attending a patient in Alderny. The rescue unit treated the girl but did not have the facilities to transport her to the closest hospital. She was finally moved to the hospital when the ambulance arrived after a one and a half hour wait. "Im really grateful for the excellent care my daughter recieved from all the ambulance officers" the Bohan mom said. "But to have just one ambulance available to serve this area is a big worry. "Fortunately my daughter was OK but what would happen if there was a life and death situation and there is such a long wait for an ambulance?" Its a very good question. Ambulance officers and the LC Health Services Union have campaigned for years for more staff and improved working conditions. The union has called for 300 extra paramedics and 60 more patient transfer officers which it says are needed to provide and adequate service to the people of LC. The union escelated its industrial campaign last month, culminating in a protest outside the White House and free rides for patients. The industrial action highlights amulance officers' frustration in achieving improved pay and conditions but also the urgent need for more staff. Its time politicians and health bureaucrats listened to the ambo's who provide such an excellent service to the people of this city. These hard working men and women, who provide front-line emergency health care everyday, know what is needed. If they are saying they need more staff, then they do. Its that simple. We dont need review after review, including the current Political Inquiry into the ambulance service, to work out that we need more officers, particularly in growth areas like the Bohan region. STOP THE PENNY PINCHING AND ADDRESS THE AMBULANCE SERVICE STAFFING CRISIS.
Machida
Agreed! Those dick heads in office better get the situation under controll or I'm going to stop paying taxes. Well at least income tax. Just the other week I saw an old gentle man die in the street because the ambulance service is so short staffed. I'll never forget the last words he said to me, "Jim, never run on your sentences Jim." My name's Prince BBHop the 2nd, I don't know where he got Jim from. Maybe he picked it up from one of my homies who was mugging him, he was called Jimbo the 3rd, not Jim though. See this old bloke had a well nice Whiz wireless that my man T-Money wanted so Jimbo jumped him from behind with a baseball bat and pulled off this well nice combo. The old dude was like, dude what just happened! There was no blood though, I've always found that a little strange. Anyway, when he was all like, dude I've been hit, he grabs my arm and tells me not to run on my sentences he calls me Jim. T-money got off with his phone though so it was all cool, but see I stayed to help the guy out coz I wanted to tell him I aint called Jim. I needs to make a name for myself and I can't have cats on the street calling me Jim. Anyway I dial 911 and tell them what I did and that my name is BBHop not Jim. But they say they can't spare any medics coz there be a flat on fire in Hove Beach or some sh*t. So now my rep in in sh*ts man, everyone thinks i'm called Jim! If like you say, the paramedics were fully staffed then I could have explained the situation to the old dude and everything would be real chilled! CryptReaperDorian
Agreed. But really, we need more food/beverage vendors in Bohan because everyone knows that eating one hotdog, hamburger, or a bag of nuts will replenish your health back up and a Sprunk also replenishes most of your health too (not all if it's in red most of the time). Buying a hotdog, hamburger, a bag of nuts, or a soda is a lot cheaper than an ambulance. I also think some of the paramedics need to be replaced with more skilled drivers that don't run over other pedestrians, hit objects on the side of the road, hit vehicles, and get lazy to look for the patient if they crashed. Bohan also has a BurgerShot and if you eat one of those Heartstoppers they would most likely do the opposite of replenishing your health and Cluckin' Bell, don't get me started on how fatal they are. Since because of these unhealthy and dangerous diets at these fast-food places, paramedics must patrol or be around those spots more often. hibernation
Maybe we could also petition for a paramedic to be stationed at every fast food outlet ??
Machida
Aight, so dude what's the difference between gettin healthed up by a paramedic and a dog dealer? I mean how much green will I need to spill for each of them?

Machida
Ah sh*t man. If I had know that I would have just brought the guy a hotdog and taken his shoes to pay for the expenses! So aint the paramedics becoming redundant coz of dog dealers!? Man what we really need is a hot dog delivery service! I think I just thought of my next buisness vocation dude! BBHops dawg delivery! I'll need some starter funds! .. I better get my ass out on the street and find someone to mug!
hibernation
Just start a new topic like i did, ranting and raving to the "higher political figures" re: your needs for funding to purchase an icecream van and convert it to a hotdag van. You are one brilliant mind son, stay on those crack pipes and between us, we will turn around LC in no time.
