Gabriel Constantin Posted August 20, 2008 Share Posted August 20, 2008 Left 4 Dead is an upcoming multiplayer co-operative survival horror first-person shooter game by Valve Corporation. The game has been built using Valve's Source engine and will be available on Microsoft Windows and the Xbox 360. Left 4 Dead pits four human playable or AI controlled survivors of an apocalyptic pandemic against hordes of zombie-like, aggressive "Infected". The Survivors' goal is to help each other make it through various scenarios to safety. The Infected are controlled by an AI that dynamically balances difficulty and mood depending on the players' progress and situation. In an alternate game mode, human players can control up to four mutated Boss Infected with special abilities and cooperate to stop the Survivor players. The expected release date for Left 4 Dead is November 4, 2008 for North America and November 7 in the EU. The survivors (original design). Left to right: Louis, Francis, Zoey, Bill. Shame this will be a X-Box 360 exclusive! I might just buy a 360 in order to play all these exclusive zombie games. Anybody else looking forward to this game? It looks pretty good, probably will be worth owning, but not enough to make me buy a 360. Hopefully EA ports it over because I would enjoy playing this. I would never buy a console for the sake of a single game. Though there a host of 360 exclusives that would help persuade me to buy a X-Box. It just looked like a bunch of pissed off people trying to kill you. and by the looks of it all you can use is guns... boring! But I guess I should at least rent and give it a try when it's out. I believe there is, plus, you get rewards and demerits for good and bad team based actions, they stay with you, so people can tell how you play. At least, I think it works that way. Just because one zombie game allows you to use a guitar as a weapon, doesn't mean it should be the standard for all zombie games. I'm getting left4dead cause the co-op WILL be what I'm looking for. "you can only use guns..." well if there was a zombie outbreak or something a guitar or a soccer ball wouldn't be my first choice of weapons. I'm more into the ones where they're in huge numbers and shamble about, Thats when you get out a guitar. Do I really have to say more? Yeah man, Counterstrike, Day of Defeat, Half Life, Portal and Team Fortress all suck balls. This game is guaranteed to kick ass, and plus you'll never play the same level twice due to the AI system (or The Director or whatever its called) spawning the zombies in different places and different amounts depending on how you play. Do we need to enter a lobby to to play co-op? None of my friends are interested in this game so it's going to be hard getting a co-op game started. Like the big brutish zombies we saw in the movies, they seem more suited to games like Resident Evil than ones like this. I always prefer my zombie games to be realistic as possible.
