okei
Why are NEC mobiles phones so huge? Has anybody ever owned one and agree with me? I've had two and they have both been really big, in the second one the battery was like semi-external because there was no room for it. I'm talking about modern ones by the way. Slamman
Let's talk about the old ones, they're even more interesting! <G>.... Recall TV shows of the 70s, for example, cell phones that were the size of the at-home version with a cord to a portable box with an handle. Car phones had large cradles for the receiver!?? NEC has been making parts large and small for years now, also teaming up with Mistubishi as well. I cannot tell you why they have large phones, but I bought several classic NEC Vcrs, and my 18 inch LCD is claimed as made by NEC/Mistubishi even though it doesn't clearly say NEC on it. Many countless IC chips in all manner of electronics are stamped by NEC, over just as many years. I believe it is Nippon Electric Co. They are not rather large physically in that case. Typically large or older electronics are that way due to the board spacing and design, which can be the result of silkscreening of the component placement, I believe. If you were to examing the internal layout, you could discern that to be the case, or the components are larger then other makers, perhaps.
