ViperGTS-R
They ignore them even more when you get to university level. I got C, CC, CD, C, D, E + (a 'Pass' on a GNVQ) (in 2002) I managed to get into a pretty good sixth form with that, where i got C, C, C in 3 A-Levels. I then managed to get into a good university with that. Its all about attitude and being able to demonstrate/apply your intelligence. The grades are just hoops you have to jump through, they show nothing more than how hard you can work, rather than how intelligent you are. Machida
I'm not sure you could do it now but I managed to sneak into university with my standard grades. Show you have the aptitude and desire to learn, along with the money to pay for your tuition fees and there will be some universities willing to take you on if you have the right standards grades. Although this was eight years ago.
Rob.
Got my A-level results last week to get into Uni, I remember after the first few months of 6th form thinking that GCSE's were extremely pointless compared to the work I was doing during my A-levels. At my school there are always a large portion of people who under estimate 6th form and they fail their first exams. If money is your only incentive to work now, in 6th form you'll stand no chance unless the same £/Grade rule still applies. I found myself wanting to learn, and when I had, I enjoyed the subject. And AS are just as important as A2. Good luck to everyone today.

greebo-man
I get mine in exactly one year today.I'm nervous already... Me too i gotta pick my math up today. I took my maths A/B paper early. I should get my maths results when I get back to school, I suppose. Nobody said anything about picking it up. But i got Easy A's in the practices, so I'mconfident of an A in maths already. Kewfmwpj
That was a major anticlimax. I get their and realize it was at 1-2 instead of 12-1. Got an A in Maths so that takes some of the pressure off next year.

Starion
I got a first diploma in Business Studies, which counts as 4 C grade GCSE's. B in English. I was really, really happy with myself here; means I can do AS Media Studies next year. C in Art. Happy with this as well, means I can do AS Art next year too. C in Maths. C in Science. D in Additional applied science. And I was only one mark off of getting a B in RE. And seeing I'm 15, and our school done our picked GCSE's a year early, I'm still to finish Technology and English Literature in Year 11. That all adds up to 12 GCSE's if I pass tech and English Lit. Then there will be my AS courses/grades to worry about. mod it with Nitrous Oxide and chassis dyno.

gamesguru
I got 7 Cs and 2 Bs. The rest were Ds. I did allot better in my older exams (including mocks); but that's the way the cookie crumbles. But I'm alright with it; I was the only one who wasn't nervous when going up to my school with my mates this morning .

Chickstick
We only did a few early this year, so there's still quite a bit to do, but I'm happy with the results; straight A's in Stats, RE, English and Science. I was something like 1.5% off an A* in Stats, so bloody close!
hick
I got 11 A*-C's, i'm really happy with what i got . I haven't got the gift of just turning up for an exam and getting an A. My brother got almost all A's and he didn't even try, he just got them on natural ability. I had to work for what i got, because my brother had always relied on natural ability once he got into 6th form he failed terribly, i'm hoping i'll do better than him because i'm used to working. I'm going to college to study Computer Games Development instead of 6th form. The thing is i don't paticually enjoy playing games, i just enjoy creating stuff for them. I'm hoping to get a distinction in college, then do university for 3 years and then when i'm 21 go on my dream holiday to Fiji with some of my friends . After than i'm off into the gaming industry, well hopefully
