Although I have super ratings with both Dwayne and Little Jacob, Dwayne turned down my request for backup on this mission....and Little Jacob wouldn't sell me any weapons.

 

This is the first time this has happened.

 

I've only used Dwayne's guys twice...and I think it was awhile ago...so I should still be able to tap that resource, right?

 

Anyway, I was doing fine by myself...kicking butt...and then the frickin' game locked up on me!

 

First time that ever happened.

They won't always help - i think its defined in the mission parameters. for instance after 3 leaf clover you can ring Kiki and get you're wanted level down when you exit the tube. however on the museum mission a bit afterwards when you blow up the rest of the gang as you exit and flee across the park, ringing kiki doesn't work to lower it!! Does that make sense?

I think I read somewhere that you can get three favours from your friends, without having to hang out with them again, but I'm not so sure...

But take them out for a beer every once in a while, anyone would get a little fed up with a one way friendship.

I dunno if that's accurate. I call little jacob every time I need armor (every 2 or 3 missions) and haven't hung out with him since I reached 100%. Speaking of which - why can't you smoke weed with LJ? I mean you can kill thousands of people in this game and f*ck hookers, but smoking a little weed is too illegal to put in the game? What would be a good friend activity.

 

Pick him up, drive to a dealer. Smoke a fattie while you drive around... get wanted by the cops if they see you. Make the physics a little messed up to seem like you're going faster than you are so you have to drive real slow. And after a little while you get the munchies and go to burger shot and spend 30 bucks.

It's not a 3-to-1 kind of deal. Once LJ, Dwayne, Roman, etc. like and respect you enough to do you favors, they'll keep doing you favors unless you piss them off. You annoy them when they call and ask you out and you blow them off. Do that often enough, they'll stop doing favors.

 

There's also a limit to how quickly you can get another favor from the same guy. I think it's one favor every 12 or 24 hours. Dunno.

 

And yeah, occasionally you're in it alone.

 

Besides, Niko has a personal vendetta. He insists on dealing with Dimitri alone. Don't worry, though; LJ plays an important role in the ending.

Once you trigger the final chapter, you're on your own. When you complete DEAL or REVENGE, your friends are available again.
