SephirothX
Next time you're way out at sea and think you've got a long swim ahead of you, you don't have to swim. I found out tonight that you can actually pick people up at sea in a helicopter if you're a good enough pilot and hover low enough. What's more I discovered this at night with cloudy conditions when it seems harder to see the sea level. I didn't know this was possible until I tried it. The best way of checking your height is to move the left analog stick so the camera is under the helicopter pointing up.

A greifer once chased me into the sea in free mode and then proceeded to hover over me as I was swimming, he got so low that when I pressed enter vehicle I climbed out of the sea and got in his copter. This hacked him off and so he flew it real high and than bailed leaving me to crash an burn. Just supporting your topic with my experience. Celtic_Assasinz
That's only if you have a friend online in the same game, or someone with a headset or someone willing to read your PSN msg and then try to pick you up. I remember trying this with a friend when I first started playing GTA multiplayer, the first time we done it successfuly was in Deal Breaker. There was 2 guys in the speedboat, so I tried picking them up with the chopper. Definately helped. I've tried it a few times in Freemode, pretty tricky at times with poor visibility, but a sweet trick.
Booze
I did it in Cops 'n Crooks, All for One. Used the getaway helicopter to pick up the boss who had been in the water for quite some time (if you stay in the water for too long, you drown). Talk about pressure

At least it worked for me once, but it could have been down to what I hit when I bailed. Hasn't worked since.

Most of the time if I'm a passenger in the chopper when it's going down. I'll remain inside until the rotors break off, that way I don't loose much health, unless of course the helicopter is on fire.
