Taste Of Chaos
I've never seen the iPhone as nothing more than a "Hey guys! Watch this!" stunt by Apple. Personally, I would never shell out that much money for a phone which is that likely to break. Even if I was going to use the features. Opportunity knocks once in a lifetime, temptation will lean on the doorbell.

darthYENIK
I pretty much agree with the list. I don't agree with all of this, "It's an apple product, and everyone wants one, so it sucks." Mentality. Get over it, everyone wants one, and conforming to nonconformity is lame. I just don't understand why people pay so much for cell phones. I think anyone who buys phones for cameras, wifi, and mp3s, just because they can, are rubes who want to make up for their rubishness by using their gadgets to make them look hip. Do we really need a camera with an internet connection and music playing in the backround, where ever we go? Stop taking pictures of your dumb friends, stop and ask for directions instead of tapping away at your gadgets (god forbid you talk to a stranger), and f*ck the music you don't need it (it all sucks now a days anyway). Sorry if I come off as an asshole I just watched a George Carlin special, and I'm not as good at social commentary as him.
swolo yaggins
I wouldn't use an iPhone if you cement glued it to my hand. f*ck that piece of trash. I'll stick with the Nokia SMARTphones. But really, 5-7MP is the sweet spot for most people to get good printable photos, as long as the lens and sensor are decent, as most point and shoot cameras are. For normal "omg trip to the zoo" or "zomg liek night out clubbing" pictures go. But, for serious photography you'll need a higher quality lens, sensor and 8mp helps TONS, since it's not always easy to get in close enough to the subject, and in more cases get the correct composition (as in, you need to take a picture of more than the subject and crop later). If you have too little MPs, you won't be able to crop much and keep a decent resolution. ESPECIALLY if you do prints./rant SNORE NO ONE CARES Edited August 19, 2008 by Desmosedici 5192:12.3.02LM/SSHmkl

Svip
I think it sucks simply because everyone wants one or if not have one already just like the ipod. Then you are guided by mainstream opinion as well. Because you choose not what mainstream picks. You equally sucks.
Struff Bunstridge
I like my $16 phone, it can ring people which is why I have a phone ZOMG I think every phone manufacturer in the world's gonna forget about this at some point. If you're dim-witted enough to expect one single device to meet your high powered business, communication and entertainment needs all at the same time with complete reliability, you deserve everything you get. Especially if you buy it from Apple.

Hayden
I like my $16 phone, it can ring people which is why I have a phone I got a new phone a few days ago for AU$70. It's a nice phone, slim and good looking. It's got everything I need, audio and text communication, and an alarm for getting up in the morning. My sister got an iPhone... I never knew the iPhone could piss so many of you off. I'd rather buy a blackberry to keep in touch with my friends and what not, but I'll stick with using the house phone for now. I've never had the demand to keep in touch with my friends to such an extreme. Perhaps later on down the road when I become a more sociable person. Creed Bratton
I don't think it's worth the $$ at all. May as well get a nice decent phone and get an iPod touch, heck get the same features as the iPhone just without the Phone. Hey, maybe you could...you know...get back in time and prevent the making of iPhone.
JayC
Is one of the reasons cause you don't have one? I don't have one either but I don't understand the hate. Boo f*cking hoo its made by Apple. So f*ck. You should all be happy that a product has been released that breathes new life into an ageing market. All of a sudden all the major manufacturers are shouting about their life changing tech and flooding money into research for new user interfaces and features. I do agree with you Jay, the iPhone is pretty amazing, and many of you people in this thread are being so anti-Apple that if I said Steve Jobs, you would say anti-christ. Name a phone that can only play iTunes music, full movies, get directions, search the web, have tons of games, and still manages to be a phone. I realize that Apple sometimes get's products out to early, with too little of innovation in a new product, but that's how Apple sells. Much like how Microsoft can release a new OS, that is sh*tty at launch, and they make you wait half a year for a patch to fix it, but sometimes that doesn't even work. PSXtreme
2 megapixels means jack sh*t. They could make it 5mp, the sensor size and lens is going to remain the same size/similar, so your pictures are just going to be MORE noisy. megapixels are the worst way to measure a camera's ability. if you actually care about taking pictures, buy a real camera. lesfleanut
The app store is by far the coolest thing to ever happen to the mobile phone business. Numbers have been released, and coders are making an upwards of 5 grand a day selling apps on there. The total sales numbers for the first month alone were 30 million. That is going to draw some big attention, no doubt. I can't wait to see what more professional developers come up with in the future, with bigger budgets and a lot more time to work with. Most of the sh*t on there now was thrown together in a couple of weeks, and a lot of it rocks hard. The iPhone is also a really cool gaming platform. Nobody has released anything as of yet that really pushes it, but there are a ton of neat little games on the app store that are currently wasting a lot of my time at work, most of which are free. John Carmack, founder of iD games, has been quoted as saying "(The iPhone is) more powerful than a Nintendo DS and PSP combined." in terms of specs. Read about it here. Sure, the phone has it's drawbacks, but there is currently nothing on the market even close to it in terms of a true mobile development platform. Weather you like it or not, Apple raised the bar and made everyone copy them with the iPhone last year. This year they took the bar and smashed everyone else in the face with it. To most of the f*ckwits in this topic bashing the iPhone; odds are you know nothing about the phone, and you probably haven't used one. To the rest who have legitimately spent time with one and found it unsatisfactory; to each his own. I personally don't own one, I have an iPod touch. The only thing holding me back from getting the iPhone, though, is that AT&T isn't very good in my city. That will be changing soon, however, and when it does, I will be ditching my Verizon phone and my iPod touch for an iPhone.

But the iphone is just not as special as people are touting it to be. and yeah, razors SUCK
