Console Gamers seeing the Light?

I don't know how much simpler I can make this. Did I want a 360 ? No I did not want a 360, infact the 360 now resides in the shed propping the lawn mower up. I wanted to play a pc franchise that I had played for 10 years. The only way to do that was by buying a console so yes I was coerced into getting something I didn't really want. Yes I should blame MS because it is MS that made sure that it created enough uncertainty about the PC version to con people into buying their console.

 

No No No, if you did that for every 3d GTA game you wold have a ps2 as a door stop right now (inless you do). MS did not come over and scream in your face that this game will never come to pc and get a 360. it might of happen in your world just not the real one.

 

 

 

You keep bringing up "fairness" I never said this was fair or that it is unfair.

 

no you did not say if it was fare or not but you did say its not good that a costumer hast to buy a 360 and a ps3 to play games ect. i just use the word fare.

 

 

I I mean surely if console gaming is so great there is no reason to delay the PC version of GTA 4 for nearly a year. Oh wait yes there is, that Peter Zetterburg told us if they release a game on the consoles and pc simultaneously then people will most likely buy the PC version. Hm doesn't seem to me that console gaming is so great then.

As for why I feel so strongly about this, well I have been a gamer for 25 years and in those 25 years I have seen gaming go from a fantastic form of entertainment into a money grabbing, user shafting pathetic shell of it's former self. The games used to be about bringing the best experience possible to as many as possible. Now it is just about meeting specific deals and fulfilling specific contracts and the end user instead of showing they aren't happy they praise the hell out of these companies.

 

yeah i know that, i said that in my last posted. also you sound like a old guy in that paragraph. "remember good oll days when games were about having fun and not money" yeah i see what you mean, and i do play free games... its just that those games dont seem as good.

A nice AMD phenom Quad Core sounds good to me

 

Though actually been thinking wither to stick with my nvidia graphics cards or to try out an ATI.

What card you got ?

I know I upgraded for cheap.

As of july 29th Nvidia released a hand full of gt cards

for really good prices.

 

It will not hurt to take the step.

But a total conversion just as the game releases. Means you start

learning a whole new set of issues.

Captain Obvious probably pointed out the obsurdity that is this thread. Most peopl who are members here HAVE A COMPUTER, and they either didn't buy a console, or they did. I did. The more obvious question is whether they will or ARE going to buy a new GRAPHICS card. Wouldn't you say??

Every time GTA comes out i wanted to get a PS2 so i could play it, this happened with 3,VC and SA but as soon as they came out on PC i was so much happier i waited because of the mods and better visuals.

 

Was so close to getting a X360 to play GTA:IV but decided against it because of the issues of disc scratching, mp, crashing and whack visuals PS3 was way out of my budget and was not any more powerful then the computer i had at that time (ironically the exact same G70 chip as the RSX )

 

Never played a Wii and never owned a console so yeah, not a PC fanboi just never could be stuffed getting a console and was always prepared to wait for R* games to be ported.

 

Anyhow as far as console gamers dumping their copy and playing the game only on the PC, sure i can that happening, especially when the mods come.

My comp can handle Crysis, so I think I will be fine (though it looks bad). The only PC games I am currently playing is Team Fortress 2. Which doesnt take a lot of power.

 

I don't want to buy SA again for the PC, after getting it for the PS2.

PC is the best, no doubt about it. GTA San Andreas offered new stuff in the pc version so its worth the wait to get it on pc than buying a console just to know that a year later the games is commin on pc with new feutures.

Um, I have won all the street races on every GTA on PC, always using the keyboard & mouse. Maybe you are just uncoordinated? I have a gamepad that I can use to drive if I want to, but I usually stick to the keyboard, the secret is not to mash down the steering keys, just give them gentle taps, like you do to a joystick.

Well, I completely agree with strategies, sims type games etc, but RPGs are console games. I mean, Final Fantasy, Blue Dragon, Lost Oddysey - sure, you got Gothic, but that's the only exclusive. Oh, and the Witcher, which I heard is pretty good. And about the FPS games - it's a matter of experience and training. I understand people who prefer mouse + keyboard, but I can't imagine playing CoD4 on anything other than Xbox controller. And believe me, I've tried. And no offence to anybody of course.

I'm fairly confident my current PC is more than capable of running IV. It can run Mass Effect and Bioshock with no problems. IV should be a piece of cake.

The only thing consoles have are JRPG's which no one in the PC world cares about, thay are the worst RPG's, also I said RPG's are better on PC, never said it gets all RPG's. The Witcher, NWN2 and 2 expansions, titan Quest, Diablo III, Vampire bloodlines, Rise of the Argonauts, Age of Conan, WOW, Guild Wars, mass Effect. The controls with hot keys and better menu navigation, easier to navigate items, spells, potions, better party control. Sorry, RPG's, with better controls, mods, graphics are way betetr on PC, the only thing console has are linear boring japanese RPG's which need a major overhaul, they are outdated. RPG's are console games? That is the dumest thing I have read, some of the biggest and best RPG's ever are PC only, baldurs gate, Fallout, neverwinter Nights, etc... get real.

 

COD4 with a 360 gamepad cannot touch mouse and keyboard, the fluid and precise fast movement of the mouse jsut cannot be matched, that is widely known.
