Thanks for the informative opening post.

Really told me a lot about the movie, the actors, the directors, the release date.

I mean one sentence and a youtube link? That's all? Not even your OPINION? You think this is passable for a topic?

Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake

Keanu Reeves...

Eh, I dunno about this one. Sounds like some bad casting there.

Says the man who speaks even less about the movie in his own post.

The original movie was great because Klaatu wasn't some weird alien that kept his distance from humans. He was just like any ambassador that goes to a foreign country. He seemed to want to see if the humans are really as bad as their first impression showed. And through interacting with the young boy and his mother, found out that there is more to the human race than war. Furthermore he looks just like a human, and was a good guy. Keep in mind that this movie came out in 1951, a time when Americans were scared of the communists, and when people thought of aliens and flying saucers, they thought of War of the Worlds type situations.

The movie really fit well with the time it came out. The message of peace and acceptance of outsiders really needed to be told, at least in the U.S. Now I know what you are saying. Seems like it would fit well with this day and age. I say fine. But from what I see in the trailer, the messages of the old movie are taking a back seat to action and visual effects.

100 to 1 odds that this movie is another sh*tty remake that doesn't compare to the original.

P.S. anyone know if there are any pictures of the new Gort?

What is it with the human obsession with apocalyptic themes in the media?

It's been a running topic in movies lately.

Kinda scares me watching those films confused.gif

Lately? It's always been a running theme in films. Hell, even in radio dramatisations. This film itself is a remake of an extremely old, famous movie. Nothing new...

photopictures: I have to warn you about the immoral behaviour discussed in your opening post. Licking honey from the entirety of Keanu Reeves' naked body will give you diabetes. Plus, I don't think "rape-sicle" is an appropriate term to use in any circumstance.

I made a topic about this a while back mate, use the search turn.gif

Anyway.. yeah, the trailer looked impressive, with a sneak peak of Gort right at the end
