Please have multiple cities

I hope the next one has multiple cities like in SA. I found that when rock star limited it self to Liberty City again it lacked diversity. There was little difference going from island to island(Manhattan has a downtown area i'll give you that), and nothing really stood out(unlocking the 3rd island was a let down..nothing special over there).

In SA you had Los Angeles, San Fransisco, and Las Vegas each with a unique terrain and general feel to the cities(not to mention their own cops).

I would like the next one to take this even further by having 3 cities that really aren't close geographically.

I was thinking of:

-Rome(italin mafias and not to mention endless possibilities of fun missions..assassinate the pope, blow up the colosseum, etc)

-A chinese/japanese major city(to include the Yakuza, Triads)

-A south american city or Cuba(i figure with cuba u can get the cartel, cubans, maybe haitians into the mix or with another south american city the diablos)

i really want the gangs to be back like they used to be in III, VC, SA. in IV the gangs do not stand out at all and are confined to a small turf

Grand Theft Auto IV did have multiple cities though. If you payed attention while playing, you'd realise GTA IV was set in Liberty City and Alderney City. You got what you wanted. Now stop complaining! tounge.gif

That's awful. Killing the Pope is one thing, but blowing up the Colosseum? That's just stupid.

the two were basically the same thing.

how is that awful? it would be awesome to kill the pope

Alderney and Liberty City were different enough to be recognizable as two separate cities. I think having two completely different cities close together is very unrealistic, because most of the time cities build in proximity of eachother often share some similarities.

As for killing The Pope, what purpose would that hold? Other than having the Christians trying every day for the rest of their lives to band GTA NeXt.

I'll say again:

perhaps the pope one day publically condemns the mafia and certain mafiosos and starts to bring attention to the corruption of rome

besides it's only catholics who would care if the pope was killed in a game

Precisely. The Catholics are quite a large and aggressive organization. I suspect with their support Jack Thompson would have GTA banned and burned at the stake within a week.

aggressive? hardly. maybe at one point in time, but now they've gone soft. i bury those cock-a-roaches

assasinating the pope? if ripped up a picture of the pope on tv (sinead o'connor once did that if u didnt know) cause her sales to go plummeting and her albums getting burned, this would be a catastrophe. it would destroy R*

I'm a catholic and I find this idea stupid.

And I don't care if you wanna kill the pope - heck he ain't better than I am.

The stupid thing is that those cities you mentioned are separated by thousands of kilometres and oceans. How do you want to put that in one game? :|

Well it could be done something like The Driver series, and split them up into stages. GTA 1 was like that.

The only problm with that is they don't feel like they're in the same "universe".

OK, multiple cities, bla bla bla, sounds good. I was with you up until you started talking about having a mission where you had to assassinate the Pope.

.... sarcasm.gif .... bored.gif ... *sighs* ... Here it comes...

Are you kidding me? Are you f*ckING kidding me?!?! Are you high? or drunk? or off your meds?! Do you know how much of an uproar that would cause?! If you honestly think that there should be a mission in a GTA game where you have to kill the Pope, then why don't you just go start setting up explosives in the R* headquarters yourself?! That is such a bad-... No, that is the WORST idea I have ever heard. It would be suicide for R*. I don't think there's ever been such an extreme amount of stupidity in one idea.

Gees!

P.S. They could make it so the player uses the airport to go from city to city.

i was thinking islands representing the cities(Vegas isn't an island so who cares)

and who cares..people deface Jesus all the time and nothing happens(see south park episode when they were going to air an image of Mohamed but instead had jesus do something else)

in a game called Medieval 2 Total War there is a faction called the Papal States which has the Pope in it. You can assassinate him or kill him on the battlefield. CATHOLICS AREN'T FREAKIN OUT!

hell it would be a fictional pope. no harm would be done

I still think it would be best to just go ahead and leave the Pope-killing mission out of the next GTA. I mean, people reacted to a sex minigame the same way most people would react to 20 people being murdered with a chainsaw. I know Jesus has been defaced on South Park, but that's a TV show. People react differently to video games, because in video games, the character is controlled by a player in real life. So if there was a Pope assassination mission in a video game, dumbassas like Jack Thompson would accuse the game company of making a religious leader murder simulator or some crap like that. You know what I mean?

Yeah, but that game doesn't attract controversay like GTA does. I mean it attracts the super anal like Jack Thompson enough as it is. Killing a religious figure, fictional or not would get R* some serious heat.

Hell I don't think the Cuban, and Haitian community were really happy with the portrayal of Cubans, and Haitians in VC.

R* pushes certain boundaries, but I think that would be going a tad too far. IMO

Eh I would like to see something like SA - except everything bigger, I'd like to have to take 5 minutes to get from one city to the other on a highway.. and highway being the fastest way, not like freakin back road between LS and SF !

Yeah, multiple different cities would be a good idea, but I don't agree with Rome and Tokyo. (even though they would be cool places to play in)

You simply can't make GTA in non-English speaking country for obvious reasons.

But to get from one place to another, you simply could take a plane or smth. though I liked the highways in SA, want them back.

Definitly different cities, SA was soooo much fun. Also pleaseeee bring planes back.

Also if there was a mission to kill the pope the press would sh*t themselves.

Eh..

Assassinating the Pope would just destroy R*.

Assassinating a crazed assassin who's trying to assassinate the Pope, compromising the whole Mafia, the whole Masquerade, to say...

I like that.

And if they make it take place in Rome, they better have a MP mode where one team is trying to destroy a landmark and another team is trying to stop them.

I agree with you on the first part. I loved riding my bike in the woods between the city's. But 3 city's worldwide? No thanks turn.gif
