Und3r5c0r3
I don't know a whole lot about this kind of stuff, but I won't be surprised if EA ends up owning everything on the planet that has to do with gaming. We can look forward to an abundance of f*ckin worthless bullsh*t games and an abundance of f*ckin worthless bullsh*t sequels.

CryptReaperDorian
Well, it's over. Take Two is going to accept a buyout from EA.... they are only ironing out the details. I'm afraid this might be true, just hope EA doesn't f*ck up GTA and other R* titles. Sure, I always like more GTAs but not a new one that is watered down to sh*t every 8-12 months. Take-Two better not sell R* games to EA because they are a huge chunk of Take-Two's profit and will totally scar themselves (even probably to the extent of bankruptcy or being a defunct business). Can the OP or somebody else post another link about this news because we know if this is or isn't a whole bunch of BS like the EA buying Euphoria thread? Und3r5c0r3
Well, it's over. Take Two is going to accept a buyout from EA.... they are only ironing out the details. That's pretty much what I was thinking, too. They probably already made the deal. That's a f*ckin shame that GTA4 will be the last real GTA. The next ones will be called GTA, but they won't really be part of the Grand Theft Auto series we know and love. Edit: I still get a chuckle out of this: GTA: MAD TYTE UNDAGROUND STREET RACING SYNDICATE X TIGHT DAWG SHIZZLE 2 Probably because there's a good chance we'll see a lot of games like that in the future Edited August 19, 2008 by Und3r5c0r3
BioVirus
I don't believe rockstar will allow EA to ruin the GTA franchise. EA owning GTA... it's inevitable that they are going to capitalize on the brand and make more games for it... a lot more. But they might not all be bad. Remember, Portal is an EA game. They just make so many games, that the good ones get drowned out. I for one hope EA releases a zombie survival game using GTA IV's Liberty City Edited August 19, 2008 by BioVirus
Und3r5c0r3
I for one hope EA releases a zombie survival game using GTA IV's Liberty City Dare to dream. I wouldn't mind having a game like that, except it shouldn't really be called "GTA"

Algonquin Assassin
If EA does for some reason ruin the GTA series, you watch the amount of people that will take GTA IV for granted. GTA IV is probably going to be the last "true" GTA.

BioVirus
I am waiting for RockStar to sell me the second half of the game in DLC. Now that EA is going to own GTA... will we see Niko make an appearance as an unlockable character in Madden? Niko the QB for your New York Giants! or Niko in Rock Band? GTA vs Need For Speed : EXTREME RACERS EDITION ? I'll be happy with a zombie survival game in GTA IV's Liberty City.
tommy vs. claude
Nothing will change, EA isn't stupid. The video game industry is just that-an industry, and T2 is a top earner. The only change we will notice will be an EA Games slide after new trailers. They know what makes Rockstar Tick, and being the great business minds that they are, they wouldn't change that. Thank you for speaking sense into these people. Of course judging by some of the mindless sheep some of these people are, they will probably buy the next GTA anyways. Road Kill Cafe
Remember, Portal is an EA game. They just make so many games, that the good ones get drowned out. No. Portal was developed by Valve. EA Games is just a distributor for brick and mortar stores.

gamesguru
This is one of the posts I made in the Gaming Chat Forum (there is a topic on this in there as well); and seeing as this one is more popular, I thought I would share my views here as well: EA does have a habit of bringing out the same (especially sports) game out every year; I would like to see a simple update through the PSN Store/Marketplace instead of making us pay £40/$60 every time. The same goes to Konami and PES. However, with the whole Wii thing going on, EA are trying to turn a new leaf by trying new ideas (well that's what they want us to believe); I reckon they are just trying to capitalize on the new Casual Market. However, even though still rubbish (they're new to the whole make an original game thing; publishing doesn't count!) at least they're trying. A bit Off-Topic, but you see where I'm going with this and the future of GTA. Oh, and that contract has expired but apparently Take2 are still in private talks with them [EA]; probably telling 'em to bog off!
