Typhus
I'd class myself as an Anarchist Protestant. Meaning that I subscribe to the disapproval of Catholic practices and heirarchy and yet do not attend any church. I believe that using humans as a buffer between man and God leads to abuses of power and an erosion of key Christian values. You are given the words of God and yet a man makes it his job to tell yhou the words you can read for yourself. A man places himself on a pedistal that no one should inhabit. Churches encourage conformity yet espuse the great gift of free will. People must be free from constructs and avoid placing God into those constructs. A Christian on his own can worship God with honour and dignity. But banded together you see a mob mentality, racism, gender bias and even violence. The positives are a focused dedication to charitable causes and a sense of belonging for the dispossessed. But I feel that Protestant ethics, stemming from an outrage at Catholic corruption, are best expressed by a rejection of the tools that bring about such corruption to begin with.
