Will the graphics be the same...

I am worried about this because in the previous series the console versions were better, in the matter of graphics and glitches.

GTA 3 had the best graphics on Xbox when PS2 and PC were less detailed. The PC version's textures were 8 bit. Also, GTA San Andreas had the basketball glitch on PC and not on the console versions.

So...will GTA IV be more glitchy and less detailed on PC?

Well you are completely Wrong mercie_blink.gifsmile.gif

The Graphics from GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas were at least the same quality as on consoles.

They even had some higher Texture Resolutions (GTA San Andreas for example) and had a higher view distance not to mention the higher Resolution hhmmm... sigh.gif

What are you talking about? biggrin.gif I can even remember that San Andreas had some extra Effects on PC like Heat Haze and Motion Blur.

Maybe you played it on PC with the lowest Details?

And I am sure GTA IV will have at least the same graphical quality as the XBox360 and PS3 Versions.

I really hope it'll be better. My wish list in the terms of graphics are:

1-Higher texture and model detail.

2-IMPROVE THE F*CKING TREES!

3-Better AA quality.

4-Better draw distance& framerates.

5-Less pop up glitches.

The graphics will be the same as a console and if you have a good enough graphics card, it will out perform the console version

In all that fighting about which one have better graphics, pc or console Im only asking about this. Are graphics gonna be exactly the same on pc in 1280x720 res end on high setting without aa???

If the "High" Setting includes all Graphical Quality and Effects from the XBox and PS Version it will be the same.

Maybe we PC Gamers will become some "Very High or Ultra" Options with PC Only Effects? smile.gif

We can only hope. I wish the graphics will be on par with the first trailer released for the game. It was awesome. But R* had the water down these graphics to run the game at a better frame rate on the sh*tty consoles, sadly.

I think the game on pc will be the same as on consoles and better in the same time turn.gif

Explaination: The game basically will be the same but it will visually be better because of the things that are influenced by the pc itself such as AA, dept field, loading times, framerates, etc...

This is not true !!!!!

GTA Vice City for PC fixed a few glitches that that PS2 version had (such as randomly losing health, being shot through walls and cars disappearing from you garage ever so often).

So much as that X-play actually gave the PC version 5/5 and the PS2 4/5. Citing the fixed glitches and improved performance making the game better. They actually said "GTA: VC is an all-around better experience on the PC"

http://www.g4tv.com/g4archives/features/44...ticle_key=44711

The same also translates for SA. The PC version of SA featured improved gfx, better frame rates and greater draw distances !!! Not to mention reduced loading times.

So please don't get confused.....

It's funny, I heard a lot of people talking about the first trailer graphics and the final version of them.

Could that trailer be from the final PC version of the game, before it was compressed to the consoles?

Has I said before the game even shrunk looks to heavy for the consoles, if they had a better graphic version of the game I think they kept it. Unless they were "stupid" and after compressing the game, erased it all their work.

I doubt it ... and in my own vision I think PC version was made first and then compressed, and not the usual port thing.

I'd say they would be better, makes me mad, because once again, I can't get the moddable better looking version of the game, god forbid the stuff I had to buy to get SA running good, IV, just f*ck it man.

I am 100% sure of this.

Xbox did have some better shaders and stuff but overall PC version was much clearer, better framerate and draw distance.

Also keep in mind Xbox versions were released after PC versions, and seeing as PC version is the last version to be released this time I would assume that it would be the most improved.

This this guy must have a really crap PC.

I have found the graphics on all the PC versions just the same if not better than the console versions.

Though being a next gen game I think most people wont be able to run the game at its full potential. I know my PC will struggle with it anyway, last update I game my computer was for Far Cry coming out lol. Need to get myself some money for a major upgrade.

Just look at the road textures in SA on PS2 and PC. They completely replaced them with high-res textures. Also, compared to PS2 resolution of 640x448, I play San An at 1440x900. That's double the resolution.

The PC versions always out-do the console versions.

SA, even on the lowest settings outdoes the Xbox version......

I expect IV to be no different, but it depends on your graphics card also.

Come GTA 4 has taken a step forward graphics wise, so rockstar will want to keep the realism that was one there main selling point for the console versions the realism, also with all the high end pc's most people now have, the graphics for the pc version could well be better than the console version.

I think only popups will be less.

No, but imagine if you had seriously low RAM (like myself).

GTA3Freak-2001

The only time a console version looked slightly better was with the Xbox version of Vice City which came out after the PC and PS2 versions. The differences came in the adding of better 3D wheels for all cars as well as semi-3d engines and I think some changes in the reflections giving a better fake reflection effect. Still it didn't really make it look overall better then PC. This also only came about because it came out after both the PC and PS2 versions.

GTA 3 graphics were the best on Xbox! You got to be f*cking stupid to not make the difference between 8 bit and 32 bit.PC=8 Bit and Xbox=32 bit textures. That's the motherf*cking difference y'all can't see.For me it is really important that the graphics to be the same or better!

PROOF

As you can see GTA 3 Xbox version had detailed hands and high res and quality texture.

I never said that SA's graphics are weak on PC.I've played it at High graphics and yes it looked better than PS 2 and probably equal to Xbox.

That's not right. The graphics on PC has been alot better. Atleast on GTA III and SA. And the reason that the graphics would be better on Xbox than on PC on GTA III. Could probably be that GTA III was released to Xbox ages after it was released to pc.

If anything I think GTA IV will be better than on console. Computers can do so much more than a console.

since when GTA has been about graphics ?

back in the day I used to play GTA3, VC and SA on a 1.5Ghz Celeron with 256mb RAM and a GeForce 4000, but I at least played it.

GTA has never been about graphics, instead its about the gameplay experience and satirical in-game humor.

You guys are starting to act like those console fanboys, arguing about irrelevant crap, like which GTA3 had better graphics. It has NOTHING to do with GTA IV, its a completely different engine for god sakes!!! icon13.gif

I really doubt they will be changing things like that in the game. They will be fixing some Euphoria glitches. That's not really a big problem. Most people use that to their advantage so they can keep a fast car throughout the whole game

I also suppose you could be able to turn off Euphoria if your computer is that bad.

I must admit, III looked better on ye old Xbox but that was because it was a bad port, and you needed a really good PC to make it look good. F*ck, my PC can run III fine, but the graphics are even worse than the PS2 version; with a weird grain like filter over the game.

However, R* have made progress with ports to the PC and I expect IV to be a pinnacle of what they can achieve. They've certainly got the money and expertise to do so.

The only reason III looked better on Xbox is because of the updated Renderware engine used for better effects but the PC no doubt still has higher resolution than any console.

Equal to xbox? I've played all versions of the game and I know for a fact to this day that the PC version is superior graphically wise, thanks to what I originally said, resolution, then what other people were saying, framerate, draw distance.
