johnnyk1
I read the bit about you calling me child then i stopped at the bit where you said you played at your friends house. idiot. ...what is your point? That I'm an idiot/child because I played the game at a friend's house before I bought it? Are 23 year olds not allowed to visit their friends or something? Kid, you need to learn a bit of common sense before you attempt to insult someone. im 22 and theres no way in hell i would go to my friends house to play a game....a few beers mabey. your a hipocrit you call me a child yet you act like one going for sleep overs. PhilipO43
Iv'e been playing this series to death since the original, and i culminated it with beating SA some 4 times.(twice on the PS2, once Xbox and once pc) Actually i have all versions of the GTA series except the DC version. I'm now at 70% for the X360 version and 60% for the PS3. Here's my thought in a nutshell: IV is like having the best piece of cake in the world but you wish it had a bit more icing to it. The only weak part of the core gameplay(not features) is that the missions themselves are too repetitive. If anyone here can name a better game, this generation, with a better mix of storyline/ physics/ cover/ animations/ voice overs/ music/ 'world' detail..ect, please try and name one. Now is it perfect? Heck no, and this is where many don't like the game. Actually IV seems a bit rushed out, because the core elements are so ahead of the feature set, it feels like R* left out a number of no brainer features for upcoming DLC's(X360 or universal) or the next installment. But R* is not stupid here, as unlike in the past they can easily add in DLC's for all platforms to make this the complete package. What threw alot of GTA fans off was the drastic change from the heavy feature set/crazy storyline of SA, to the much more serious and storyline baised gameplay of IV. Personally, i love IV's more mature feel, however there _must_ be that ideal mix, especially in a more realisitc type of game like IV is. If your walking by Star Junction and see the arcades, your thinking, 'i must get inside this', only to be letdown. The same goes for the amusement park or Casino or many other 'closed' sections. Add in the lack of a replay/save feature for saving your best gameplay moments, and a user track radio station, as well as saving cell phone pics. I put in over 120 hours into this game(combined versions) and i still cannot get enough of it, because it's so far better then SA in it's core gameplay and for _once_ the storyline is not just as throw in. Having said that, there are so many times i'm thinking what R* normally added in the III series, and this goes beyond missing features that many expected. The fun factor in the game is just not as great as SA, and this is immense in terms of replay value, and it's the missing piece in IV. When i'm playing IV, i feel like i'm playing the best beta ever released, because the core gretaness is there, but it just feels unfinished. Of course R* has sold over 10 million copies and they had to save something for the DLC's, and you know fully well, that all DLC's(X360 and universal) will be loaded with features to complete this game. IV is still the best game i played this generation, and it still has it's faults. However in my gut, i see the DLC's making this game the complete package that many expected it to be. It's even hard to rate the game as it stands, because the DLC's can easily make this game a perfect 10/10, for many fans.
Matt21
NO its not "over hyped" for me, its endless fun, ive been playing story for around 70 hours and im still having fun, plus im on multiplayer sometimes which also it very fun, why people say its over hyped i do not know.Gta is the best sandbox series of games EVER made, saint row hasn't even got nothing on gta2 in my opinion, ill put it this way.. if your gonna moan about how you dont like gta 4 and how R* didn't forfill you wishes for IV then you really should stop playing the game. the game practically scored 10/10 on every review it got. Quit your moaning and play.
