silent pistols in game

Ok I managed to get this f*ckin "silencer", eh, it's just the normal pistol with an invisible thing, you can shoot to people without sound but the wanted level increases even if you're, for example, on the beach and there aren't cops around you.

Are you sure it wasn't just you shooting people on the beach with a normal pistol with the sound on your TV off?

It is illegal to mod the console version, it goes against EULA-yada-yada.

No.

I followed the tutorial the ukrainan guy said on PM, it worked, but it's not like if the pistol had a silencer, it was like if the silencer had no sound at all. You know, if you shot with a silencer it makes a little sound but this doesn't at all even if I turn the audio to the max, as I stated before it's just a "glitch", it spawn the model but it hasn't textures and sounds. Useless. We have just to wait for a DLC.

or in few words, there only a script, with no models, textures, sounds, niko just standing in t-pose and you only can see the bullets coming out of the physical center of the model (his PENIS area? i know its lol, but the physical center of the human is somhwere by the bellybutton) its fun watching this from a side turn.gif

This whole thing could be just a bunch of people over-reacting to broken/unfinished codes, Rockstar either plans to release this on DLC or never.

I don't see what all the fuss is.....

 

I mean come on...HOW MUCH better would it actually make the game?

 

Wow it will have the same effect as a normal pistol but just be quieter.....

 

The police know when your beating the hell out of someone with your fists even when their is no police in the area to see you do it. So stealthy kills are definetely out of the question as the police on this game are completely crap and never leave you alone.

 

I would like to have the silencer but i'm not going to piss my pants over it...

Like in Final Interview, where you kill the lawyer who has dirt on Francais. The hardest part of the mission was when you had to escape from the building fighting off police and security. If they never heard a gunshot, you could just leave calmly and pass easily.

You know you can also kill him with a knife and get that same effect you just described, right?

There're not leftover codes from San Andreas.

GTA IV has a lot of shiny new middleware but it would be naive to think there is absolutely no reused code from previous GTAs. There's a lot of programming that controls how the game is organized and executed that has nothing to do with graphics and physics and AI. There's a certain rhythm to gameplay that couldn't possibly feel so much the same as the GTA III series if it was completely redone from scratch. It's too complex to duplicate by chance.

 

I think every visible part of the game has been replaced or upgraded but the underlying master program is a revision of San Andreas (with additions from Bully) which in turn were revisions of Vice City which was from GTA III. It's the latest version of the same game from the same people. It's like a symphony orchestra that has all new instruments and a new concert hall, but the same conductor and a lot of the same players.

I don't know anything about what you've said, but the # means a comment in the code, right? So by removing that #, the silencer would be in the game.

 

This means it's there, just inactive in the code, and it makes it extremely likely that it'll be released via a hack or DLC or whatever.

I seriously hope that R* didn't include code only to be unlocked as a part of DLC

That is really screwing with us gamers. I mean we paid for the whole game and all codes included in the program.

If a BMX comes to the DLC it will make my day. Mind you, there's nowehre to ride it...

I don't think the DLC is hidden to be unlocked. From interviews Rockstar made it sound like they hadn't gotten past the idea stage with DLC, as of GTA IV's release. These references in code are leftovers from past GTAs. Rockstar probably started GTA IV intending it to have more of the past vehicles and weapons and so there are placeholders.
