Struff Bunstridge Posted August 18, 2008 Share Posted August 18, 2008 Has anyone ever that these "aliens" could look normal like we humans and not the bug-eyd, large brain, small stature, no nose, weird fingered creatures everyone thinks they are? It's reasonably unlikely. We're the shape and size we are because of the strength of the earth's gravity, air pressure, humidity, distance from the Sun, number/size of moons etc etc. There's a whole load of factors that would have to be pretty much exactly replicated on another planet for the natives to even look remotely similar to us. Of course, the law of probability says this has to happen somewhere, but most likely far enough away from us to make it unlikely that visitors here would look like us. ...if that makes any sense. BloodOcean Posted August 19, 2008 Share Posted August 19, 2008 to think that there is no other life in the universe and that we who inhabit the earth are the only life anywhere is pretty ignorant, but i think the whole "little green men in spaceships" theory is quite far fetched. I do however believe in life out there somewhere, but more along the lines of amoebas and single celled organisms. It took earth millions of years to get where it is today, in a universe that's billions and trillion of years old, so i think it would have to be extremely coincidental that there are other planets thriving with intelligent life at the same time as us.
