PhilipO43
Why are you not releasing in game music and trophies on ps3?! How can you turn your back on the company thet made youre game famous! true, that would be sweet if those updates happened. It runs in only 640p, with no FSAA, runs about 10% slower then the 360 version, with a weaker online service, and no exclusive DLC's upcoming. 10% slower than the 360 version?, I think you got that the other way round and both versions run with no FSAA, also online service is the damn same, similar amount of players online I noticed no difference while on psn and live, don't bring such bias into account please. Easily the most accurate article on the differences between both versions: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=137829 The page they give direct results on frame rates: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?artic...d=137829&page=4 ------------ "So the results clearly show that over the course of the entire clip, 360 out-performs PlayStation 3 in every one of the six scenarios presented here. Indeed, on the longer vids, with a larger average sample, we're seeing a good 17 to 18 percent variance. Tests on gameplay (playing through the same mission, but not rendering identical scenes, obviously) saw a similar range of variance too. For example, the 'Ivan the Not So Terrible' stage has a nice range of in-car, on-foot, rooftop and cut-scene action. 30.106fps average on a 360 runthrough, compared with 26.733fps and 26.696fps on two separate PS3 captures of the same mission. The bottom line is that no matter what material I put through the detector, 360 came ahead in all tests, sometimes dramatically so." ----------- And i can say, everything in this article was _dead on_ correct. PhilipO43
Sony is only doing trophies on it's 1st party games(as of now), so let's not blame Rockstar here. Actually i'm not sure why anyone would choose the PS3 version, over eithier the 360 or PC. It runs in only 640p, with no FSAA, runs about 10% slower then the 360 version, with a weaker online service, and no exclusive DLC's upcoming. And this fall, with the 360's new update of any 360 game to finally be installed(and run off it, instead of the DVD) on the HDD, which means the only fault of the 360 version(compared to the PS3) will be a non issue. btw: I have both versions of IV, so i know first hand. Well apparently you do not have both versions, because you're wrong. -It does not run 10% slower than the 360 version. If the 360 version currently runs directly off the disc and the PS3 version runs off the HDD AND disc (as you said in your last sentence) then how could the 360 version be faster, especially considering that the PS3 is technically more powerful even if only by a slight margin? -GTA 4 runs in 630p on PS3, not 640p, but either way your point is clearly that the XBox runs in higher resolution. This is true, as XBox runs at 720p, but don't be so quick to judge the PS3 is the worst looking of the two. Read this article for a simple explanation: http://kotaku.com/385237/gta-iv-runs-at-63...whats-that-mean Side by side, the differences are almost impossible to decipher. -Weaker online service, yes, because PS3 online is not as popular - yet, it is FREE, unlike XBox live. I'll take a free service with less people - but still enough to densely populate servers - over a service that costs a monthly fee any day. -No EXCLUSIVE DLC, but there is DLC coming. Maybe you do have both, but you're biased toward 360. Either way, you did not do your research, and that is for certain. Actually i have both CE versions of IV. Currently i'm at 70% on the 360 and 62% on the PS3 versions, and i can back this up when i hit both 100% in a few weeks. It does run 10% slower..actually about 15% on average. Here's the best comparision done on the two versions: Article: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?artic...d=137829&page=1 Frame rate: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?artic...d=137829&page=3 Now i love both versions, but the only weak spots on the 360 version are more pop in and a nasty dithering problem. The pop-in will be a non issue once the 360 update allows full installs. The PS3 is a great version, don't get me wrong, but the 360 gets the edge in every which way but in the case of that dithering problem. Live has alot more gamers using voice, and the achievements add even more to it.
