Fnorg
I have got an HD3850 AGP and it´s only 2-3% slower than the PCI-E Version it was tested i several Benchmarks. I can run every Game with full details (even Crysis) on it so far until Today so there will be no Problems with AGP cards like 7800 GTX, 7900 GS, HD2600 XT and HD3850. The fastest will even run GTA 4 with everything Maxxed Out. I know i must Upgrade in some time to PCI-E but as long as i can play everything really smooth with full Details (with Athlon 64 X2 2.6GHz and 2GB RAM) i have no Reason to spend so much money on a New System as i would have to buy everything new. So i would definitively say an HD3850 AGP would be the best choice by far. It would be useless for him. You´r right i just now see he has got a AMD Athlon 1800+ so it would really make no sense to get a newer AGP card. Maybe a 2800GT would do better. I looked through the Framelimiter thread in the Vice City section, and people were bragging about having those cards. I though, "What the f*ck?", and then I looked at the date the post was posted. Well actually I am desiding to pay for a new PC once I can get a new job because the one I have isn't really top notch for the things I usually do and it freezes when I put my Ipod in for too long and it plays GTA III and Vice City fine but lags badlly on San Andreas when I go in a car or drive around on/off mission even with the lowest settings and cant play DX 9 games

SyphonPayne
Pretty much a 7600GT or better regardless of PCI-E or AGP will run this game.
Abel.
I think the last AGP card was the Radeon 3850 which is a pretty decent card. It's a very nice card, however, the PCI-E version is better. However, I'm with Charmers, spend your cash on a new Mobo, and a new GPU, it'll be worth it. CharmingCharlie
To be honest that card you put up is below what the 360 has (the 360 has a X1900XT eqivulent card) so if you bought that X1650pro card you would at best be able to play GTA in low quality. The better option for you would be this :- http://www.pccity.com.mx/cgi-pccity/www/tienda.pl?accion=detalle&codigo=TV-PCAG3650 I have no idea how much extra that is in your currency but that should be able to handle GTA 4 with no problem and you would just be limited by your processor then. I'd still go for a new mobo and get the 9600GT or 3850 PCI-E if I was in his position. Charmers: Have you sold the footstool?

Hope you aint an environmentalist cos you will scream bloody murder with what I tell you next . I accidently dropped it in the rubbish bin . I couldn't get much for it second hand from cash converters and didn't fancy dealing with a private sale so I just chucked the thing, it was just taking up space (it is only in my sig because editing sigs at the moment breaks them). But you are right on the AGP problem really the only solution is a new mobo, processor and gpu
