IceWolf729
Well, I just bought this game and installed it a couple of days ago; I really do not understand what's all the hatred about... So far I only played the first 3 main missions, exploring the city, but it seems really nice ! Although it doesn't surpass San Andreas, it's still a nice game with some refreshing ideas . After Steam updated the game with the patch, I have to say that I rarely (if ever) get stuttering issues (I have to admit that I have a very strong desktop PC at home that can run GTA IV at (almost) everything set to high with 50-60 FPS; I tried this game on my laptop that just passes the minimum system requirements and, indeed, I had horrible stuttering there even with everything set to Low). To sum up, I think that SR2 is a pretty decent game, worth a try if you're into sandbox games at least a bit. It's nicely installed on my hard drive alongside GTA IV, GTA San Andreas and Bully and they seem to get along, no problem ... I will play this game at least until the GTA DLCs get released on PC . Speaking of DLCs, I wonder if they will release the Saints Row 2 DLCs for PC as well ... Chances are slim, but we'll see... Black-hawk
I've started a support ticket with Steam to get a refund for this game, though I doubt it will work out in my favor, That being said, can ANYONE give me any tips on fixing the incesent stuttering when moving in a car or running? Without having to cripple my machine by removing my paging file? (I LIKE my page file lol) It's a fatal bug within the PC version that they're not gonna fix. rubba_dukie
ok ill add you , another question in saints row 2 are the finishing moves in melee fighting random Yes, you can't choose which ones you get. Well I suppose there are different finishers depending on what fighting style you use.

However, I somewhat like how this topic was bumped. It reminds me of a time where Saints Row was at its peak. It just went downhill after. Also, I believe this game is free on PSN for those that have Saints Row: The Third. So, I'm almost surprised this topic has been dead for so long. So, I'm almost surprised this topic has been dead for so long. It's an old game, everything that can be discussed, has been discussed. The only thing you can really do is post about the crazy sh*t you did. Plus this is Gaming Chat, most topics that aren't about recent games die pretty quickly. Unless it has a pretty good online competitive scene.(Ie COD and BF) Formerly known as The General

Hmmm nice bike
However, I somewhat like how this topic was bumped. It reminds me of a time where Saints Row was at its peak. It just went downhill after. Honestly, if I'm ever bored, I still pop Saints Row 2 in and play for a bit. Meanwhile, I haven't touched SR3 in a very long time, and I'll probably end up trading it in. To me, SR2 just hasn't gotten old, I just wish I could get on co-op and actually do the rest of the missions cheat-free.
fireguy109
Just got this on Steam and I quite like it. My laptop isn't exactly built for gaming so I've been forced to run it at its lowest possible settings sadly, but I'm more concerned with the gameplay than graphics. I'm quite enjoying just driving around, customizing cars and causing trouble. Reminds me a lot of the old GTA III days.
Rebel
I picked it up on Steam sale even though I played it for xbox. I still have tons of fun with it - especially the co op. I got it with all of the expansion packs so playing co op with the space movie thing is sweet. Although the one thing I've noticed is the fact the flying controls are totally f*cked up. To the point where I'd probably have to use a game pad. I don't understand why you need such a good rig to play it on while it doesn't have the best performance for your buck. Hmmm nice bike
One thing I really love about the game is the setting. Stilwater was such a better city than Steelport from SR3 and 4. It's just a much more varied map, there's more things to do and places to explore (like the shopping mall, the mountain/small countryside area, university, trailer park, beach, etc.), and the city overall was way nicer looking. All SR3's map was is just derelict buildings and factories, the city really looked the same everywhere, there was no distinction between districts. I found the flying more fun, too. The helicopter controls were crap, but the planes flew nicely and didn't all fly like fighter jets like they did in 3.

DeafMetal
Alright, so I've had SR2 for a few years now and thought it was a really good game. But that's just it... it was a good game. I never found it to be nearly as addicting or fun as a large portion of people on the net think it was. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea but I feel I should have enjoyed it more. So, what's so great about SR2 compared to GTA IV or San Andreas (as an example)? I might have to go through it again. I didn't spend more than 20 hours on it so maybe I just didn't give it enough time.
Vercetti42
Because it was like the only Saints Row game worth comparing to GTA. The first one was okay but the 2nd one was the best in the series, the 3rd one was below average. So many regard Saints Row 2 as the last 'true' SR game. Finn 7 five 11
It's nothing extremely special. It's just fun man, Next best GTA. SOme people really enjoy it, that's their thing, they're allowed to. Everyone has different things that pique their interest.
Booze
The co-op and rewards system worked REALLY well and are to be held as an example for other sandbox games.
Tycek
It was good game with really fantastic customization of both characters and vehicles, got decent story (SR got better one) and nice balance between fun and seriousness. SR2 is worth playing and the second best part in the series. It could evolve into real competitor for GTA, but instead Volition turned into 12 years old wet dream.
