Lol you wasted a lot of money buying that GPU when you have such a crap CPU. Should of gotten less RAM plus less storage biggrin.gif

That's your opinion the GPU was only 160Euros, and the CPU is the oldest piece of hardware in my system +1year smile.gif will change it when i will have money for a quad.

Anyway if GTA 4 won't run ok in high i will OC the CPU's ass so hard he won't be able to power off smile.gif)

I recently sold my old rig to a freind and it has similar specs, although his chip is an E6600 and his GFX is the 3870.

He clocks it to 3.0GHz stable and pushes it to 3.4GHz most of the time, on air cooling.

There isn't many games he can't run with decent resolution and framrates, some of the more fancy effects have to be turned down but you should be okay for IV's meagre requirments.

OK, this is totally off topic, but I would really appreciate if all of you PC tech freaks (biggrin.gif) go here and vote for number 27. Maybe you'll want to check out other people's work blah blah but vote number 27!

I f*cking hope so. I'm clouded with rage at this very moment, so reading legal (it's a language) isn't gonna get me anywhere. I guess I'll know in a few days.

Either way, I am so done with Internet shopping.

Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 at 2.93GHZ

4 GB DDR 2 RAM

Nvidia EVGA GTX280 SCC

250GB Hard Drive with a 500GB external

Windows Vista Premium

22 Samsung Monitor

Can run damn near anything at full graphics settings. I have to turn down one or two settngs for Crysis though lol.

What settings? AA and AF don't count turn.gif .

To be honest I can't remember. I haven't played it in a while. I think it was basically just a few DX10 goodies that I had to turn down to high. Things like volumetric effects.

But why? on a 280? What resolution you using?

1680x1050. I think its more the processor thats hurting me. Not the GPU.

Oh, OK, I get it now, a 260 should be fine maxed out at 1204''1024 for me anyway cool.gif .

Thanks for your response.

sh*t mate sad.gif. I don't know how things are handled there, but in this sh*tty country when something like that happens all the creditors lose their money. That is, if the state doesn't step up and give them some tax payer's money.

my specs for playing the real version of GTA IV Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

mobo: ex38-ds4

cpu: e8600 (thinking of upgrading to some form of quad but will try on my duo first)

hopefully should be all roses for release (still scared about the recommened quad)

I'm *hoping* that we, the customers, are first in line for our money back, then the places where the shop buys its parts from.

I sent the lawyers an e-mail with my order confirmation (which I printed by a freak accident), so I'm hoping for the money back. Fingers crossed!

Thanks. I'm still expecting them to respond, I seriously do not want to go another three years on this piece of sh*t. I miss my old, (weak) dual core and 6600. Wasn't much better, but it was a bit better.

It depends on resoultion really. If you play on 1280x1024 or close, c2d can be enough for max details when videocard isnt crap.

Just buy an external HD, then you don't have to worry about it. I've got a 250 GB internal, then bought a 500 GB external and have all the space I need.

I wouldn't recommend that, external drives are noisy as hell.

At least these cheap ones. (I have a LaCie)

Next time I need more space, I'm gonna go for an internal HDD, they're cheaper too.
