DoubleOGJohnson
Its funny that you are telling people to go play San Andreas considering the fact that nobody will be playing IV four years from now. The fact that IV fanboys even mention SA proves its longevity and its superiority over GTA IV.

What he means is tha SA is not as good as IV because of the graphics and physics etc etc etc. So after playing a good game with sh*t graphics etc, when you go back to play IV it will be so much better. It`s like this. you have a beautiful woman in front of you who wont put out - GTA 4 then you have an avrage looking woman in front of you who is down for anything - SR2 so at the end of the day it might look good but it dont put out. GTA_Godfather
johnnyk, You have a great and humorous way of putting it. Thanks. I look forward to making my own judgments on the PC version. GTA III, VC, and SA (all PC) each left distinct impressions on me. VC was my fav, mostly because of the recreation of the setting/environment and the characters/storyline. I hope I don't come away with an empty feeling with IV. I haven't with any of the others.
CarbonSpaceTime
Ah, I'll admit it. Way back when I first heard GTA IV was coming out on next-generation consoles, before I decided not to hype myself up, I expected some sh*t from GTA IV - like super cool sh*t, and GTA IV wasn't really out of your mind cool. Viewing it in that context, yes, GTA IV sucks.
02134
Graphics should be sacrificed for gameplay in my opinion. I couldn't care less how realistic a polygon flower looks. The best games ever made had the worst graphics, like Metal Slug and Monkey Island. No game with the modern style "next-gen" graphics will ever be as good as games with some basic graphics but amazing gameplay. I've played flash games with stick figures that I thought were amazing compared to games for PC and consoles these days. The more people care about graphics the worse and less original games are going to get.

I think thats the big thing with GTA IV is rockstar made it more open for gamers to find things to do rather than just giving them all these little things to play with. explains why theres free roam with 16 players. Ive found many things to do you just gotta think of things and be creative. I was playing a game earlier today where me and my friend gathered alot of weapons and made a roadblock on a bridge and he took cover on one side of the cars and I took the other and we fought the cops off as long as we could and it was accaully really fun. hell we even take fast cars and line them up on the top of the hill next to middle park near the internet cafe and race them down to the road block and come back and since you have cars like turismo and infernus and its a big straight away its kinda cool to see what happens we even took a bus with 4 people and have 4 other people in cop cars like a police escort and was fighting off the other players and cops. theres many things to do in GTA especially online you just have to be creative

Halo 1 and 2 have less going for it and people still play on both systems.
timredd
I have played thru GTA IV twice, once to %100, another just the story. I've just finished SA again There is NO WAY I'm gonna play GTA IV again soon its just too boring Just my opinion The reason I hang out around these forums is to get any news re DLC I'm hoping that it will redeem it for me............... mkey82
theres many things to do in GTA especially online you just have to be creative You mentioned the word creative a bit too many times for a GTA title GTA should felicitate your imagination, not demand it to have a good time. From my experience, most people settle in a mind rut and don't have that much imagination so it would be unwise form R* to make a game that requires from people to have palnty of it. Tony Mozzarelli 80
If fun gameplay means more creativity, then fun tools equals more fun gameplay, simple as that. The very idea that anyone would suggest that rockstar has had the benevolence to give us the oppurtunity to better use our imaginations, is preposterous

mkey82
thats because everyone is complaining how there is nothing to do well theres one solution for that. be creative Yes be creative. Let's take it one step further. If you are creative enough, you don't need GTA IV. You don't need the console, you can do without a TV. If you are creative enough. If you are creative enough, any open ended game can offer you enough. For instance, X3 - a space sim/action game. There are literally thousands of ships you can mess around, follow them and emulate their behavior. Or you can explore a lot. You can set out to map it, mark certain points of interest. Or to catalog the available technology. You can do this, ut it doesn't make nay sense as the developer needs to provide the tools with which you will have fun. Like I said, you can not put creativity under system requirements. Especially if you are planing to sell the game to millions of people. Maybe 250000 of those 6 million that bought if for x360 are creative enough. Tony, did you try to register again?

When I was waiting for my PS3 to come back, I started a new save in SA, but I think I done a total of about 3 missions, and haven't touched it since. It simply doesn't hold my interest like IV does. To me IV is the better game, full stop. SA was great (Read the tense was), but I like GTA IV so much more. DoubleOGJohnson- How do you know no one will be playing IV in 4 years time? You do realise that not all of us have SA jammed so far up our asses, it clouds judgement on other games? who said take a step further, I simply said if your bored be creative and find things to do its really not that hard. Did god give some of you 5 second attention spans when you were born? F**k I remember back in the GTA 1/GTA 2 days when all there was to do was cause mayhem throughout the city. That was before R* started spoon feeding people, and you know what whenever I play those two now, they're still fun to play. Tony Mozzarelli 80
So it wouldn't be far more fun to have lots of different stuff to do? would this in any way hinder your imagination? would it all of a sudden stop you from being able to use your creativity? or would it give you a greater platform from which to use your imagination in a variety of different ways?
