famous95!
If gta iv was so modern about the music then why didn't they add a radiostation with artists like: T-pain, Lil Wayne, Usher, Baby bash, T.I, akon, Sean kingston, Chris brown? it fits perfectly with liberty city (NY)??? Crosby
Any music would fit perfectly in LC/NY-It's a melting pot. They are trying to put less recognizable tunes in so you aren't sick of them before you hear them.
The Elite Sniper
They did have some modern music and they try not to choose popular songs that everyones heard. I've found many songs on GTA games that I had never heard and now sit in my playlist

dkznr3
I prefer when they use songs I most likely will not hear on my own radio. GTA IV's soundtrack sucks though. The only station I can tolerate is Tuff Gong.

That's not the only kind of "modern" music why don't you crawl out from underneath the musical rock you obviously live under. They don't have any Chili Peppers, Wolfmother, White Stripes or Black keys or any bands for that matter that actually released an album in 2006-2007. @The Elite Sniper - RnB is actually short for Rhythm and Blues and should not be compared to the sh*t artists that famous95 mentioned. Chewybacca
They don't have any Chili Peppers, Wolfmother, White Stripes or Black keys or any bands for that matter that actually released an album in 2006-2007. The Black Keys' "Strange Times" is on Radio Broker. Good tune. I do agree that GTAIV's soundtrack seems to be lacking in comparison to previous iterations. I have a feeling it is because Vice City and San Andreas were set in the past, so they could easily pick out songs that have proved themselves to be classic and definitive of that respective era. However, since IV is set in present day, Rockstar doesn't have retrospective advantage anymore. And plus, the danger of selecting lesser-known artists is that people playing the game will feel like the in-game radio does not reflect what they actually hear on their radios in real-life. I reckon that is why they had a couple of stations that played older tunes ie Tuff Gong and Liberty Rock. Most of the songs on those stations are classic songs everyone has heard once in there life.... Even Famous95 who only seems to listen to "RnB". To be honest i have only listened to the music radio stations a few times, i mainly listen to the chat radio stations as they are hell funny. RnB =/= rap RnB =/= hip hop Hip Hop =/= rap T-Pain - RnB Lil' Wayne - Guy who sounds like he has freakin' asthma, does RnB/some hip hop Usher - Rnb Baby Bash - Never even heard of him T.I. - I don't listen to him so I don't know Akon - Manly homo who sings with a really high voice that does RnB Sean Kingston - Black guy who sings like a Jamacain, does RnB Chris Brown - Homosexual little kid who sings with a high voice, does RnB The only half- decent person up there is T.I., and I haven't listened to him since like '05. Besides, pretty much all other modern RnB/Hip hop on the radio today sucks balls, so I'm just gonna listen to my own music while playing GTA. EDIT: I was reading a wikipedia page on Akon. It says his full name is this. Stain Of Mind
PS. How can you tolerate rap? Honestly,... LCHC should of had some Slayer, would have been perfect. Liberty Rock has like 3 good songs, "Heaven and Hell" by Black Sabbath feat. Dio. "Straight On" by Heart. And "Jail Break" by Thin Lizzy. Rockstar f*cked up this radio setlist, I agree with SyphonPayne, Vice City at least had some Slayer..=)
