Michael Hollick the voice actor for Niko Bellic admitted at Comic-Con that he hasn’t even started recording for the DLC yet and it’s August already.

5.78 million games sold...empty promises of DLC earlier this year. Kind of bullsh*t if you ask me. Of course this is all speculation, but it doesn't look like we'll be seeing anything new any time soon.

To be honest I might have moved on from GTA4 by then. I still play ALOT of multiplayer but it will eventually wear thin especially when Gears of War 2 comes out.

 

I doubt I will even bother paying the money for DLC as Microsoft are looking to do what they do best, rip people off....

I wouldn't say Saints Row 2...I certainly won't be purchasing that but Gears of War 2 is a definite.

 

The DLC will have to have San Andreas, Vice City, and all the old features plus like 100x more if i'm even going to consider parting with my money.

 

Multiplayer keeps me occupied.

Grand Theft auto 4 is an amazing game and i dont think i could ever get bored of the game myself. I have not played it for a while but thats down to playing metal gear solid 4. If anyone says they are getting bored then thats the type of people who do not have a good imagination, i will always go back on it just to mess around and it is certainly not a game to get rid of. When the new downloadable content comes out i wont be buying it, probably wait untill it is free but i cannot wait to see what they add.( I dont want to pay because i have already bought the game as it is, that is enough. But another reason for me not paying is because it goes to microsofts pocket not Rockstar, they have already been paid.) Hope they bring a lot to GTA 4 when it does drop though as it needs a little refreshing to get it back on its feet. Loved the story though and the gameplay is amazing. Hope there working hard on the next GTA because i think we are all already waiting. Thankyou Rockstar for such an amazing piece of game enginering.

This means nothing. There is no guarantee that Niko will feature in the DLC, and even if he is, it's easily possible that they had Hollick do all the dialogue at the same time he recorded for the game

I play much more single play Gta IV now. Multiplayer is annoying becasue you get the retards that always go to war. I hope the ps3 gets something because that's what i have. More cars would be cool not coz im bored but becasue i love driving them. I cant get enough, weapons not a big issue though, more things to do around the city would be very cool.

They have stated a few months back that DLC will probably come only during the beginning of 2009. And this make sense as they probably want to separate it from the PC release.

you're just making it super obvious that you've never played gears. Gears 1 had few modes, huge host advantage, overpowered shotgun rushing, and a near useless assault rifle, and it was still the best multiplayer game I have ever played. Gears 2 will fix all of that and take the multiplayer from a rush-and-shotgun game to a tactical cover game, with more game modes and variety. The difference between Gears 1 and 2 is immense.

As part of its second quarter financial reports Take-Two announced that the downloadable content had been delayed and would be released during the first quarter of its 2009 financial year (November 2008 - January 2009).

Anyways, dont pull the piss out of me, but is DLC different to the episodic content?

See if they were seperate (like DLC was like the horse armor from Oblivion for a small cost and the Episodic content was story lines, new missions etc. for a larger cost) why would Niko's vocal actor need to record stuff for the addition of guns and cars etc.

Have a feeling they're the same thing but just wondering lol

This is all nothing but good news for us PC users. Hopfully some effort taken from the DLC will go toward get the PC version polished.

That's a good way of putting it.

 

Unless it was confirmed by R*, and removed for some reason, then yes that's technically "missing". Most of the things people complain that are missing, were never slated by R* to be in the game in the first place.

Exactly people complain about "missing" stuff when they weren't "missing" to begin with! Planes were out from the get go, car modding was confirmed by Kikizo first i think that this wouldn't be included shortly before the release of the game. Rockstar continuously said they were talking a different approach for the game (Huge hint) The first trailer: "Things will be different" you should blame yourselves really.

Gears 1 had few modes, huge host advantage, overpowered shotgun rushing, and a near useless assault rifle, and it was still the best multiplayer game I have ever played. Gears 2 will fix all of that and take the multiplayer from a rush-and-shotgun game to a tactical cover game, with more game modes and variety. The difference between Gears 1 and 2 is immense.

I do own Gears, and have since January of 2007 (I got it along with Guitar Hero II). I found it fun for two or three playthroughs, then went to multiplayer. I got bored with it quickly because the lag was worse than any of my other games despite having far less traffic than them. It wasn't fun at all, especially since everyone either sniped or rushed you with shotguns and chainsaws.

 

I have no reason to believe the sequel will be any superior. Just like Halo 3, which tried to add support equipment and balance out the weapons to make multiplayer better, still has the same tactics as Halo 2 and Halo 1, GoW 2 will have a few players from the first game who try to play tactically and intelligently, only to be overwhelmed by a bum rush of shotguns and grenades.

I'm sure Rockstar is putting all resources to the pc version due out in Novemeber.(but pc users need to calm it down a bit, the're getting it 6 months later without the upcoming 360 DLC)

 

After the pc release, then Rockstar will work on the DLC #1 the priority, and probably release it in Feb/March 09'.

 

And it all makes sense, because they will see what gamers like in SR2, and probably add in the same sort of feature set into the DLC.

 

I'd rather they wait until IV is releaased on the pc and the release of SR2, to work on the DLC #1.

 

I'd much rather have a great DLC #1 in March 09', rather then a so-so/good DLC in Novemeber 08'.
