thOma$
Hi, I want to change name of texture that my dff model uses. For example "bmytatt.dff" uses "tattoo" as texture tag, and i want to change that texture tag nameto something else, how can I do that? in 3dx max? TripleAs
Hi,I want to change name of texture that my dff model uses. For example "bmytatt.dff" uses "tattoo" as texture tag, and i want to change that texture tag nameto something else, how can I do that? in 3dx max? Select the part of the model that uses that texture (I'd do it with the Select Element lovely thingy max has). Now fire up the Material Editor (The keypress is M) and go to the first blank sphere you find, go to Diffuse and click on the box near it, now find a texture that has the name you want it to have (something that isn't named tattoo ) and click on the button to assign it to your selection. Now, just export your model. And nope, there's no need to reassign a texture that's named the same to the other part of the body that you didn't want to change. Max does that automatically. Bye

xmen
well you can do it easily through RW analyze, just like renaming a file
TripleAs
well you can do it easily through RW analyze, just like renaming a file Yeah, but that requires you to know a bit of Hex, I assumed he didn't know that and was more familiar with 3dsmax. But yes, if you want to do that for a couple of files my advice would be to learn how to do it with RwAnalyze
xmen
but that requires you to know a bit of Hex no, just double click on textures' string node and change the name but it will be little bit difficult in first time
