Neon25
Even If i was rich, Id still pirate games as its a lot more comfortable than going out to the store (which is about 30km away as I live in a small town), getting the game, taking it to the register, and paying for it. Yep, it's that easy. If you can't afford a Ferrari, just steal it. It's much more comfortable than going to the dealer and paying for it.
SkapeGote
Yeah, Okay...... I live 1hr from anywhere in a small town, and that has never stopped me from going to the store to buy a game, or anything for that matter. I just make a day of it. I would have to be a pretty fat, smell, nerdy, loser to use an excuse like that. I hope you are not one of those useless people who think that playing a computer game is ike having a real social life. Maybe you should get a chair that doesn't swivel, that way you would be forced to get up once in awhile. You don't use the same excuse for still being a virgin, do you?. All joking aside, pirating games just seems wrong, I guess I just am morally superior..... but I already knew that. lol. Skape *All comments are made in jest and only reflect the views and opinions of those who do not steal/pirate games because they find it morally reprehensible

MrKlorox
I don't care if there is a CD-Key system... as long as it's not some sort of atrocious DRM type thing like SPORE is/was doing. I know that I'm always on the internet, but I utterly despise companies that require me to be online or to sign in every 10 days to play a singleplayer game. Th3ProphetMan
Sure it will have a CDKey, and it will require the CD, although i wish it would need just the cdkey and work without the DVD. What i do hope is that it doesn't require any stupid activation system like bioshock
Dillyracer
I hope so, take Race Driver GRID as an example. Great game, but there are so many wreckers that just downloaded the game and can't get banned because the game doesn't have a key-code. If GTA IV doesn't have a key-code, I fear for the multiplayer. However, it is a GfW game so it probably will.

jesushumper
There's no way they'd let illegal copies play on official servers. But i'm sure before logn someone will come up with a private server mod or somethign of the like, as many folks (including me) despise GFW. It may take a few weeks, but I'm sure it'll happen. Hamachi support, maybe?

free_to_view
What kind of server does ROCKSTAR have...hmmmmmm They could try and link up with gamespy like they did with Flight simulator so that you could play online. You will need to create an account and login. I don't know how they are gonna do it (playing online) but I can't wait to fire up that baby. Bring on GTAIV for the PC

ass reamer
I agree. I will never understand the need to pirate stuff. I just go to the store and buy it, and if I cannot afford it I wait untill I can. What is wrong with working hard, earning money, and then being proud to slap that cash onto the counter to make a purchase. I think some of you pirates really need to learn to be more respectful of our hobby. You can argue till you are blue in the face that piracy does not really affect PC gaming, but it is not you that has to be convinced. As long as companies believe it is true, and trust me they do. I do alot of marketing work for software companies, and this is always the first question. Can we design a campaign that will maximize sales and minimize piracy. If you think a game is priced to high, or unfairly, wait 3 months and it will come down in price. Don't be so impatient. Have people become so lazy nowadays that they just can't work to pay for things?. Also, money is the stupidest reason for piracy. Get a damn job. I have been getting paid to work since I was 8 and shoveled horse manure for 3 dollars everyday after school. My parents were poor so I made my own money. I worked 2 jobs in highschool, and was a straight A student. I worked 3 jobs in college while getting my BA at a 4.0 and 2 while getting my masters. I worked 3 jobs the last 4 years and have paid off my entire school debt, bought a car outright, no loan. Anyone who says its money is just a lazy fat loser. I now have only my mortgage to pay, it is a hell of a relief. I have to tell you that if you are 15 and still have never had a job, you are an idiot. If your parents are loaded, still stupid. That money could disappear in an instant. Get off your collective asses and go make some cash. There are alot of working days before it is released. You have lots of time. Why pay for something you can get for free?

Kimd41
they should put it exclusively on steam.boom, piracy gone. That'll only block pirates playing online, but it will make downloading the game 100 times easier for pirates too. Why? Because there's a cracked steam out there, and it let's you download the games at very high speed, unlike slow overloaded torrents.
Jackmackg
they should put it exclusively on steam.boom, piracy gone. that's the same as putting it up only on vista. not as bad but not going to happen.
ass reamer
Stealing a car is not really the same thing as downloading a game. They're both theft, yes, but that's really where it ends. But if it were as easy to steal a car and get away with it as it is to download a game and get away with it, you can be damn sure I'd be stealing cars. Actually paying for something isn't a source of pride for me as it seems to be with you guys. So if you went to buy lunch, but there was a place next door giving away free food, you wouldn't opt to get the food for free?

SkapeGote
I guess I was raised differently than you. I was taught stealing was wrong. Maybe your parents didn't teach you that. I was always told it is better work hard for something, and be proud of that fact. I was taught that it is better to wish for something you can't have, than steal something just because you can. If you actually believe the statement "Why pay for something if you can get it for free" then your parents failed to raise you with proper sense of morals. If you want to argue this fact, go ahead. The fact of the matter remains, thieves are scum. Always will be. What your saying is that if someone leaves their door unlocked, it would be okay to steal because it is easy. Well then, you sir are a god damned idiot. If you read the forum rules, warez talk is not allowed. So just end it here before a mod gets angry. Take your illegal downloading, fight the man, evil corporation, I am to lazy, or whatever bullcrap to another forum that allows it. Skape

Skape Too bad though that when I """"""""steal"""""""" games/music/anything in the way you refer to, SOMEHOW the person I "steal" from STILL has the game/music/etc. as opposed to if I steal a car, then the rightful owner has NO ACCESS TO THE CAR. WAREZ DOES NOT deprive anyone of anything. And let's not even get started about money. They would not BUY it in the FIRST PLACE. Ever. If they have the intention of warez. CharmingCharlie
WAREZ DOES NOT deprive anyone of anything. And let's not even get started about money. They would not BUY it in the FIRST PLACE. Ever. If they have the intention of warez. Let's just cut all the BS shall we. Why do developers make games ? because they want too or because they want to make money ? Oh I think I will go with "wanting to make money". There is nothing wrong with that and good luck to them. Now if developers make games for a market where most people STEAL the game what do you think they are gonna do ? will they go :- a) oh jolly good show at least they are playing my game. b) f*ck this for a game of soldiers let's do the games for a market where people can't steal our product so easily. So when you steal a game, yes there is someone that loses out. It isn't the developer, it's YOU that loses out by stealing games you reduce the incentive that a developer needs to produce the game on YOUR favourite platform (ie the PC). The PC is being royally sold down the damn river by Microsoft, hardware companies, software developers and hell even the people that "supposedly" love PC gaming are stabbing the knife in the format. Now I admit the PC isn't exactly at crisis point yet games wise. But unless we as PC gamers start pulling our weight the only damn games you will be stealing in a few years time will be flash versions of f*cking pacman. I mean fine whatever, don't buy the game for yourself, hell don't even buy it to reward the developer. Just buy the game to show you want the franchise to continue on the PC. There is a victim of piracy, the victim will be those that love PC gaming and want to play PC games.
