BigAmericanTitties
let me gues: a mission would be illgally immigrating back to mexico? there would definitely be a lot of jokes and stereotypical mexicans with sombreros and ponchos im guessing. thecommander
What would it be nothing to rags. The idea seems fun and I can only imagine the jokes. Major drug missions, and a lot of street gangs and cartel. Lazlow would have a field day
unopescio
Thats what I thought gta4 would be, set during the 70s or something.

Tony Mozzarelli 80
Mexico would be f*cking awesome. Imagine the drug dealing and and the atmosphere and the border hopping and the sombreros and the pinnatas and the senoritas and the essays and... i'm running out of mexican stuff now

But Mexico is a good idea. I always thought a bigger desert area would be cool, like the bone county area around Las Venturas but with more space/salt flats ect. They will probably just jazz up all the cities they have done already though. (like GTA4). DanManUtd
Mexico City is massive isn't it? Like the biggest city in the world? Great idea btw!

mark-2007
We wouldn't have to worry about being arrested, at least. Good idea, but I think R* will keep in a fairly affluent MEDC. I think, if Mexico were to be done, it'd be mushed into one city with surrounding desert with some ranches dotted around, and then there may be the Carribean bit included to the east of it and a South American-style such as Colombia or something to the south. Maybe they could even put a US city to the north. I may be getting ahead of myself...
beavis
LOL..some of you guys have obviously never been to Mexico. Not everyone wears sombreros. In fact, not many people wear them. They wear those cowboy hats like the ones people in Texas wear. A GTA: Mexico Idea is a bit too far fetched though IMO. Not to mention all the whiney kids complaining how they don't want to play a Mexican.
famous95!
yeah if you go to mexico people are no longer wearing sombreros thats just old. but comon wouldn't it be awesome. gangsta, drugdealing, city, jokes, the police, peds,? (((Im mexican)))
Zyo
Sticking with the central american theme, how about Havana. Its a compact and great looking city, lots of supercool colectivos/old american cars cruising around. If you don't like setting it in the present day, you could put it back 50 years to pre-revolution when it was gangster central. All drugs, clubs, money and corruption. It would be a cross between vice city and mafia/the godfather. I know refractions did it in Driver2 but that was a while back. Toxicity²
I love this idea. With R* I can imagine all the funny stereotypes and jokes they'll make. I hope GTA V is in Mexico.
Zyo
Back to mexico though, ther desert theme is a good idea. I was recently discussing in an other topic how the desert was kind of neglected in GTASA. There weren't a lot of cool missions out there and Venturas/Vegas could have been better. You know "dusk til dawn" killing spree kind of stuff (without the zombies) or "Vanishing point". Blasting across the desert in a muscle car. Or even "Casino" desert things. Driving out to a quiet spot with a body in the trunk. There are loads of cool things to do out there. PIZZAHUTMAN24
i think it should have 3 citys mexico city, tijuana, and tourism town with ranches and farms. story- should be playin as a crimnal who owns a small crime ring then a powerful cartel murders his family friends and partners for not giving up his crime ring and is in a mission to get his crime ring back and get revenge (kinda sounds dumb)
unopescio
Watch no country for old men and then tell me that a gta involving the border between the US and Mexico wouldnt work. Set in a different time period too, would make it really awesome.

NO IN MEXICO THERE'S AN ANOTHER GAME BUT I DONT REMEMBER THE NAME.WHAT ARE YOU SAY FOR EYROPE? Do you mean Total Overdose, or its PSP equivalent Chili Con Carnage? Wikipedia page: LINK. I never played it, but it looked like it might be fun. Just because other games are based in a similar place is not enough to stop it being the setting of a GTA game. I think a mexico-based GTA could work very well. Edited August 22, 2008 by carpetdweller
