CHILLI
Hello people. last 2 weeks I ago I got FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage for the PC and I just love it! cant stop playing it! so I thought that if anyone around here have any of the games and may want to share some funny moments or just small talk, they're welcome. and, even if you dont have the game I or any other guy that has any of the games, could tell you some info about it. just one this before you can start posting yourself, please dont spoil anything that is new in Ultimate Carnage, as it is like a flatout 2 game, but with like 80% upgraded or new stuff. same maps and cars (but new ones ofcourse) but they seem to different! there's so many new object placed out on each map that I didnt really know what map I was on. a few things I find hilarious on the cars are: Flatout Ultimate Carnage and maybe flatout 2: on the car fortune, the numberplate says "2B L457" which could be in letters "to be last" I find most numberplates funny, because they're stating something that could be the complete opposit to what the cars can actually do. there's more of them, but I dont want to say all of the fun stuff in the first post, instead I will let the people talk and I will help guys that need help as good as I can. greetings and enjoy the topic. BTW moderators: I did search for flatout topics, but I couldnt find any so I did this
Creed Bratton
I played first FlatOut on PC and I got FlatOut 2 on PS2. Great games both of them. I remember the first FlatOut had amazing graphics and it could run on almost any crap you put it into.
Seddo
I bought FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage for the 360 quite a while back and it was a pretty decent game, completed the single player 100% . The online was awesome aswell, had some great races at times especially when it was a full lobby. The only bad thing about the game was when you got tiny little pieces of debris on the road and if your car hit it, it would send your car flying, very frustrating when it happened when you were leading on the last lap. jedimario
How's the online community for Flatout 2 now (EDIT: for PC, if you have it)? If it's got an active demo-derby community, I'll definitely go pick it up just for that. Edited August 13, 2008 by jedimario

Yeah! It's really active. If all the games are being played just wait a minute and refresh and bam lots of servers at lobby. It's always above 5-6 servers. kingvercetti
I picked up Flatout UC on 360 for £20, I'm glad I did, it was a really fun game and the graphics were decent too, hook up your iPod, put on some music and drive like crazy, it's great. I don't think I ever got around to playing it online though. @freak: 5-6 servers isn't what I'd call really active.
Jesus'En'Hitler420
Are the AI cars in UC harder? I remember I stopped playing the first Flatout because they just got too easy after you learned how to race the track. Also, how big are the fields? 8 car fields got kind of lame, same problem with Gran Turismo games.
CHILLI
in flatout 2 they got a little harder, each driver now has their own "brains" instead of everyone following the same line, and also they will take you out sometimes in higher levels (3 per class) so watch out there! and flatout UC I got suprised how hard it actually is... not just the levels makes it harder, but now we have 11 opponents to zig-zag through or just burth through them and on top of the 4 new drivers, they are using faster cars, they are more agressive. but some of them like Ray Carter usually falls behind, and is easy to lap when you are driving on maps with a lot of laps, or lots of trees and tight corners. I should say that flatout UC is the hardest so far, because in derby class one of the new drivers are driving the fastest car around in the derby class. if you doesnt have a decent car for the 3rd level, you're pretty much stuck around 3rd or 2nd place. the damage system has also inproved. in flatout 1 you had just a few different damage models (they seem real-time but after a while of gameplay you notice that there are only a few ones) then in flatout 2 they made more damage models, but some stuff didnt look that twisted and then in the newest game, flatout ultimate carnage, every single damage on your car except for scratches (I think...) are 100% in game. I have played for a few days now, and I've allways had different damages. and some of you might know that EA tried to add real-time damages to NFS PS... well... they failed because there I could see stretched textures. I never see that in flatout UC except when doing beat the bomb, a new gamemode, and the car blows up, sometimes you can see a triangular shaped thing sticking out somewhere with strecthed out textures. but basicly, mash it together with the body and it will actually look alright. so even if a polygon might be 3 times as long, the texture wont move a single bit. instead it strectes in the same way as the polygon. there you have it. UC is harder. sometimes I could have a great race, I mess up somewhere on the last lap and BAM! a driver either hits me, or passes me in wicked speeds. Actually it is active because you can have a maximum of 8 people on one server...well they actually aren't servers you just host the game, so there are usually lots of games being played all the time. CHILLI
I played flatout 2 just a few minutes ago, and I have to say that the online activity is high! over 10 severs I think... with more than 3 players in most of them. if you want to get flatout just for the multiplayer, you should get it. I think it will last for really long since many players might not have the required for flatout UC, well my processor is crap but I still play it
gamesguru
I've had all the FlatOuts, and I think they are fantastic. I remember a friend of mine saying ''well it's not as good as Destruction Derby''. I said ''are you insane!? Compared to this, DD sucks!''. I've still got the PSP version; I love having a quick derbies every know and then.
Torcidas
I bought Flatout2 for the PC as a substitution for Burnout, which is not available for the PC. The races I found really boring, but the destruction derby matches were veryyyy entertaining. Some of the mini-games were great too.

Yeah I think the same too, today(6 minutes ago) in the destruction derby my car almost passed the fences because it was doing 2 360s in the air per second. CHILLI
I really like the insane crashes. roll the car over sideways in over 100kmh and watch the show it could be annoying, and sometimes with friends redicolously fun
GTA3Freak-2001
Wait when did Flatout Ultimate Carnage come to PC? I thought it was only on the 360 and was just a enhanced version of Flatout 2? Hmm no matter I had the 360 version of UC and enjoyed it still. @Torcidas - Burnout Paradise City is supposed to be hitting PC's this year I believe still I was the same back then, Flatout was the only option.
