Naseem Srour
Try deleting the [.set], which is located in My Documents / GTA San Andreas User Files. Did you install any mods ?
gtamodder
What are your system specs? Edit: Ok so try disabling the User Account Control, and run the game in WinXP Compatibility mode. Edited August 11, 2008 by gtamodder
sanandreas2
Hi, After installing a mod and realizing it didn't work, I backed up my files and now my game won't load a new game or any saved games. I have tried uninstalling the game, then rebooting the computer and re-installing it. Still, the problem presists. I am currently running the Second Edition and I am sure that my saved games aren't from the first edition. Please reply if you have a solution! Thanks! sanandreas2
Hi, I've recently restored my system with System Restore and now my copy of GTA San Andreas (Second Edition) won't load saved games. Also, I can't start a new game as the same thing happens at the loading screen, where the bar only fills to halfway and the game freezes. I had tried uninstalling the game, then restarting the computer and then re-installing it, but the same thing happens over and over again. System Specifications: OS: Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2 RAM: 2.00 GB Processor: Intel Core 2 Duoprocessor T5550 Video Card: 256 MB nVIDIA GeForce Please help me if you've got a solution! Thanks.
Girish
Delete the gta_sa.set file from the User Files folder. You might also need to delete the virtual store copy located here - C:\Users\???\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas
sanandreas2
Hi, I've recently purchased a new laptop and GTA San Andreas is refusing to load my savegames. However, whenever I start a new game, it still works fine. Has anybody experienced similar problems as well, and if so, if you have fixed it, please tell me how to do so. Thanks. lil weasel
<No need to keep making new topics> You tell us nothing about the Game itself. Did you install from an Original DVD? Are you playing with that disc in the Drive? Did you mod the game before playing? Are your save games your own or downloads? Are you playing as 'Administer'? Are you playing in W98/XP mode? sanandreas2
To answer the questions: - I've installed from a original DVD - I have the same DVD in the drive - I have not modded the game at all - The savegames are backups from my old laptop, so I would assume it would qualify as a download - I am running the game as an Administrator - Tried running it under Windows XP Mode in Windows Virtual PC, virtual machine did not support 3D graphics - Compatibility settings on the real machine are applied to Windows XP (Service Pack 2) - 64 bit OS, so running game as a 32-bit application via Windows on Windows 64 P.S. I've selected "Show hidden files and folders" in my folder options, went into my virtual store and Program Files (x86), but still can't find the virtual store file for GTA San Andreas. I've deleted the [.set] file in the user files. Since the problems are persisting, I believe that it may be the 64-bit OS that could be the culprit. lil weasel
Only the Vista had the 'vertual store'. Win7 discontinued it. I do believe the Vista to Win7 may be the problem. I too now have the Win7 although I like the so I didn't carry over from my other computer the saves. For the heck of it; Would you upload a save game so that I may see if it plays on my system? Please use: Samutz's Uploader/Downloader: http://www.gtasnp.com/
Girish
If it's the same game, then there's no reason why those earlier saves would not work. They should work unless they were created when you were using a modification that changed the script files and now you're trying to load them with the default script files. Either that, or the mod that you tried installing earlier might have ended up corrupting the saves. Do as lil weasel has suggested so we can check if something is wrong with the saves.
