Threepwood
Hi there. I'm trying several days now, and don't get a clue what has to be done at all. I am experienced in using MEd, making maps, editing stuff. But for a little project I want to get rid of Mt Chilliad and its land surrounding. So far, I know it will not work just to delete the entries in gta.dat or delete the parts in MEd (if it was simple as that). Mt Chilliad and its surrounding is connected to the main map via 2 Bridges, because of this it is the best part to get some free place, and it is quite big to place several new maps there. At last I want to place race maps there, because real good maps are pretty big and can't be placed in SA anywhere else (Maria Beach is big, but only for 1 additional map). So, does anyone have a clue how to manage this? Or is there someone who did this already or knows for sure how it can be done? regards, Threep
Threepwood
Wow. I thought to find at least 1 answer with anything in it (hell, even a stupid question for things I have forgot to mention), but nothing here? C'mon guys, NOONE with experience? Thousands of Mapping-Noobs on GTAF? I don't think so, so please share your knowledge
spaceeinstein
In five days only six topics got a reply. Not much people reply here at all so expect that. Open your gta3.img and delete .ipl files that are related to the mountain. I think this link still works http://people.freenet.de/steve-m/binipl.rar It should help you which .ipl file to delete. After deleting the .ipl, you should delete the corresponding ID in the .ide file. And then finally delete the .dff files from gta3.img.
Threepwood
Yeah, thanks a lot, but I did that already. But maybe something went wrong with the streamed IPLs. Or - last theory - Something in the main.scm I could have to delete? I don't guess so, I even had used mapcleaner but no effect. Thans at all for the suggestion and answer, spaceeinstein. I have seen there's less engagement in the mapping area, but I can't believe it's because noone knows nothing. regards, Threep
