tuareg
I need to copy stuff onto a cd but the otherwise empty cd says that it's full when it has nothing on it, but it still says it has 0 empty space. I know i'll come down as an idiot, but i seriously have no clue what to do with this.
Exkabewbikadid
Did you try another blank cd? Maybe that one is bad. And you can't "copy" onto a cd as in copy & paste. You have to burn it on there.
tuareg
Yes haha i've tried a new cd but that doesn't work either. I've tried to put the same folder onto the cd 2 times, so it asks me wether i want to change/swap the file with the same one. Wish means i already have it on there. But It doesn't show it. And it still says it has 0 empty space and 0 used space as well. Edit: Oh wait, burn it on? You mean burn cd, or am i just stupid haha?
Rebel
To put something onto a disc, either files or music you use a program which will burn the files onto the disc. There's a lot of free software that will do that for you, or you can buy one. I got Nero with my PC that I have so I use that.

Use this The answer is in your question quite frankly when you get a message indicating that the CD is empty, it's telling you that it hasn't been formatted yet so what happens is that the recording software can't tell the difference it's better to use an alternative burning software like this one above. Just try it and post back. Before you start burning or adding files erase the disk before doing anything else even though their's nothing on it it will prepare it for burning. tuareg
I have it downloaded now, but i'll be honest with you i have no f*cking clue what i'm doing or what to do next, i can't even erase a disk. Like seriously. I try adding files but i can't, the only option is "close". I know i'm closely the biggest fool, but what do i do now?

Try checking your optical drive in your device manager something could of mess it's drivers up. I'm guessing something is making them act up cause even if you didn't have any burning software install your CD burner would still work with Xp's/Vista own just by sending the files to the burner would automatically start the session. For curiosity what are you trying to burn don't worry I wont tell anyone Is it some type of image or a bootup disk of some type because their are certain files that cannot be seen by the operating system and makes it seem like the CD is empty when in reality it has data on it.
