Ronnyboy
Never got around to playing the NES ones though. Obviously. You weren't even born yet. So, I have a NES in my closet, with 75 games, some of which around this day and I have played does as well, doesn't mean I can go and get the original MGS. I actually want to give it a shot to see how hard it is.
SaintJimmy
Man I've had bad luck with my mgs games.MGS1 has been lost for years. My bros gamecube broke so I cant play Twin Snakes. I had MGS2 Substance but my brother broke it. MGS3 is scratched to hell and back. and I own a 360 and MGS4 is only on PS3. Sons of Liberty still plays good though, and I play the sh*t out of that game! I still wish they had made MGS4 on both systems, hell they did it with DMC (which used to be PS exclusive) Anyone remember the little easter egg with Meryl? I can only remember it vaguely; you could see her undressing or something? If I remember correctly you go in and out of the vent 4 times and on the forth time shes in her panties. Your name rocks and so does your avatar. Lol, back on topic. You guys remember that mission in MGS3 where you verse the sniper dude in the wheelchair?(my memory on MGS is VERY hazy) Well apparanetly you can finish that earlier than normal, and get a special cutscene. Like, right as the battle begins you find this warehouse and the wheelchair dude is next to these flammable cannisters. you can shoot the canisters and you get a rad little cutscene of him dying
YourNeighborhoodKiller
^ Yup. Also, when you're in battle with him. If you fast forward the time on your PS2 to five or seven days I believe. He dies of old age.

SaintJimmy
^damn right. lol. HOLY CRAP, anybody ever notice this? Original Snake design was based on FKN KYLE REESE! And did you guys know that Hideo Kojima or w/e he's called, based Snake's physical characteristics (from MGS and onwards) on Christopher Walken? Damn. Doesnt look like him though. Hart
I had these lying around (I dont know if they're the right size though)But they're just the same, but ones inverted. Anyone can use them, if they really want to, just ask me first. f*cks sake, ImageShack is being a slow bitch, ill post 'em later, BTW they're Gray Fox sigs EDIT: BTW they arent right size. you will have to resize them or they'll get disabled Although the first is the original, the inverted suits the MGS world better IMO Edited August 12, 2008 by Hart
SaintJimmy
^^agreed For some reason they always seem to look a tad better inverted. it seems like theres alot of blank space in the first one
Hart
^^agreedFor some reason they always seem to look a tad better inverted. it seems like theres alot of blank space in the first one Im only using MS Paint, so I cant do that thing where it cuts out the background, so Gray Fox is standing out from the blue forum background. Oh well. BTW Is your sig from the MGS Digital comic? Ive never read/watched it but it looks good.

Taste Of Chaos
One thing I love about the Metal Gear Solid series is the repeated dialogue, for instance the phrase 'neither enemy nor friend' is used throughout the games, but not over-used, they only come up once every game but its nice to hear and think. "I remember that." I love how the game creators have always had a consistant sense of humour in the game. Otacon pissing himself, the 'rookie' arguement, the way you can play and scare your enemys, and who could forget our good friend Johnny. The game is simply peppered with easter eggs, I remember seeing a series of videos on youtube a while ago which i think went on for about half an hour just full of all the funny dialogues, secrets and things to do. I'll look them up if I can. "Everything this thing touched, my home, my girlfriend, my school, old man John, turned into sh*t!" I always liked the look of the Gamecube edition of Metal Gear Solid 1. Unfortunately I never actually got to play it and for those who didn't also here is one of the best cutscenes in a game I've seen. God, he was a bastard. Opportunity knocks once in a lifetime, temptation will lean on the doorbell.
Hart
^^^ Psycho Mantis was so creepy when I played it on PS1. The tension was SO high when he unmasked him, and those stupid camera angles getting in the way! When I finally saw him... bit of an anti climax really, as it was a bunch of pixels on the PS1. I always thought Meryl was a bit rude though..
