SaintJimmy
Inspired by Hart and The Scariest Gaming moments thread Gotta love MGS. Sure, it may be 80% dialogue, and you wont understand pretty much any of it until your second replay of the game but it has to be one of my, if not my favourite game in the history of gaming. Hart
Dude this is awesome. You're going in my respect list for this. The most awesome boss battle in the game IMO: The most heart crushing scene in a video game. The best game ever. Hideo is a God among men. EDIT: Actually the bit where Wolf dies is worse. manofpeace
Found as some Youtuber's background: http://www.youtube.com/user/WiiManYo Only MGS could inspire that. I got 1-3 in the special box set for PS2, the first so far is my favorite, but it's really hard getting past the guy in the tank.

I was wondering if there was a box set, as my friend tried getting 1 through to 3 seperately and he did, but I just thought 'It'd be AWSCHUM if they made a box set'. Now I'mma try and score it offa eBay Edited August 11, 2008 by SaintJimmy
Hart
I really think they should have kept the neck snapping noise from MGS1, I cant remember what they used in MGS2, but it sounded crappy in MGS3. What did it sound like in MGS4?
YourNeighborhoodKiller
You could of just put Official Metal Gear Solid Topic. And put the legendary quote. "Snake? Snake?! SNAKE?!?!". And yeah, about time. Best music ever. I could give two f*cks if you disagree.
Hart
I'd say the MGS Appreciation thread is more appropriate, as its inspired so many games. Also, I agree with the music.
YourNeighborhoodKiller
Here, all the alert themes. Hmm... For some reason, when I hear the MGS3 theme. I think of Big Boss being in pain. Maybe it was because of that torture with Volgin. Or it could be that scene with The Boss. When she throws him off the bridge.
Capricornus
Awsome idea for a topic OP. I love it. Well, MGS 4 is THE greatest game that I have ever played, period. I love this game. Definitely. I know that this is a GTA Forum, but MGS 4, IMHO, is just superior to GTA IV. Gta IV is a great game, but MGS 4 is the perfect example of an epic, well thought out, well put together game. That;s how you go out if you want to make a final game that is part of an epic series. MGS 4 definitely deserved the "10" that it got. From the characters, to the awsome story, and awsome music, the MGS series as a whole is just epic.
Hart
YNK, when I hear the first MGS1 alert, my heart starts beating! (more so than before...) When you hear that its time to get the f*ck outta dodge! Bring cardboard boxes..

And GOD, GOD GOD GOD GOD GOD, do I want to play MGS4. I'm considering saving up a good 800 bucks for a PS3 just for metal gear solid 4. It looks oh so f*cking sexy. Also, anyone remember how cool you would look when you'd pop out of a cardboard box and just completely obliterate someone with your hands and feet? Hells yeah. Hart
Anyone remember the little easter egg with Meryl? I can only remember it vaguely; you could see her undressing or something? The bit where you're crawling through the vents and you see her doing push-ups? Theres something you can do to get her to do it just in her bra and panties, but I dont know how. Also if you look in the other rooms, theres a soldier having a crap.

Algonquin Assassin
My first MGS was Sons of Liberty, but I got rid of that a few years ago, and I have just recently bought MGS4, so I'm not really familiar with the characters, or the MGS universe. I must say though I reckon MGS4 is easily one of the best games I have ever played. I just reached act 2 , and the whole game thus far is written so well. These kind of games aren't my thing, but MGS4 has given me an open mind. Edited August 11, 2008 by Miamivicecity

Sir Million Knives
Metal Gear Solid 2 is the only game that I consider art. Metal Gear Solid 3 was a huge letdown for me though, good gameplay concepts f*cked by too much linearity and story was just meh compared to MGS and MGS2. deathdealer
good thread. Last night, my sister kept on killing emma by snapping her neck(she like to hear snake say "Emma! raiden, you son of a....") Trying to get the foxhound ranks(or the bigboss rank in mgs 4) is a pain but it is fun.
Hart
Hilarious codec call from MGS3: Also, what are your favourite bosses? Mine: MGS1: I cant choose too hard! Gray Fox, Rex, Wolf, Psycho Mantis... MGS2: Fight with Vampire, that was good. MGS3: The Fury. Awesome fight, and great effects. Also maybe against Volgin while hes attached to the tank. When he dies and the fire sets off all the bullets draped about him! EDIT: This theme is pretty good. He looks like hes having an orgasm while playing though: Edited August 11, 2008 by Hart
Hart
Hey guys, I'm thinking of changing my avatar and sig to one of these. Ill let you decide which ones, ill fix all size stuff later: First sig: Second Sig (Just inverted colors, but it looks cool. First avatar: Inverted avatar: Any criticism or help is welcomed, but dont ask me to do too complicated stuff, this is all on MS Paint you know! EDIT:Ive also posted it in the Visual Arts Section Edited August 11, 2008 by Hart
Taste Of Chaos
I love the second sig, got a real 'neon' look to it. I think its because the forums default skin goes with it really well too. The first avatar with just her face in it looks good in that sort of style for me. I always loved the final parts of number two where you find out the Colonel was actually an AI in Arsenal gear, which then crashes into NYC. This series is easily the best sounding franchise I've ever heard too. Music, Voice acting, sound FX are spot on in every single one. BigNekkidSnake
Man I've had bad luck with my mgs games. MGS1 has been lost for years. My bros gamecube broke so I cant play Twin Snakes. I had MGS2 Substance but my brother broke it. MGS3 is scratched to hell and back. and I own a 360 and MGS4 is only on PS3. Sons of Liberty still plays good though, and I play the sh*t out of that game! I still wish they had made MGS4 on both systems, hell they did it with DMC (which used to be PS exclusive) Anyone remember the little easter egg with Meryl? I can only remember it vaguely; you could see her undressing or something? If I remember correctly you go in and out of the vent 4 times and on the forth time shes in her panties. Bernard Jazz
You can find the easter egg in the PC demo, clicky It's only a demo version, but still well worth having.
Gouveia
I gave up the series after trying to play MGS3. I know, it was only in the start, but it's too long on dialogs and such for my taste. But I gotta agree, you gotta love the game's style, specially the outfits.

Ronnyboy
I played all the MGS, never finished them. I do know the story thanks to Wiki and videos. I think the music and acting is awesome, and I love them all. Never got around to playing the NES ones though.
