SloveneBM
Hi to all, I'm a new user here and I have some problems with SA. My problem is quite big, but I don't understand it quite because I'm not very computeristic but I quite like the game. Let's start: I decided to buy myself this game about a week ago as I needed something to play with I'm not sure about the components as this comp is quite old and I get a new one next year but: -I have about 2,2 GHZ proccessor -256 MB RAM -32-64 MB Graphic card (unsure) The game firstly installed perfectly and worked quite fine for me. I played the game quite alot and got to the part in San Fierro (I could access Amphibious Assault) The problem was, that about the part I got to the countryside the game started to become VERY slow and sometimes when I got to the mission it didn't display the intro and I had to reset about 2 times just to be able to get to even try to do the mission. I didn't have such problems in Los Santos. I decided to uninstall the game and then start over, with backup of the previous game in San Fierro if it wouldn't got any better. I would also like to mention the sound problems. E.G. I drove around the city with radio on user tracks but it only displayed them after a while and when the song was already in the middle. The game has also frozen sometimes when i tried to switch to user tracks. I also had problems with radio stations as the parts already spoken repeated and repeated even when i got out of the car and pressed escape. The same goes to mission intros and even if the text on subtitles goes on I still heard ''Mike, Mike, I've been trying to contact you''. The thing is, this morning I tried to uninstall the game.I'm not 100% sure what happened as my head is about to explode but I think it went like this: I clicked on the icon uninstall San Andreas and what was displayed: >SetupDLL/SetupDLL.cpp (469) PAPP:Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas PVENDOR:Rockstar Games (http://www.rockstargames.com/) PGUID:D417C69A-FCC7-4590-A1BB-FAF73F5BC98E $10.50.0.125 @Windows XP Sevice Pack 2 (2600) BT_OTHER 232.64 Phew, I couldn't copy this BTW When I clicked OK below, I got this: Setup has experienced an error. Please do the following: -Close any running programs -Empty your temporary folder -Check your Internet Connection (Internet Based Setups) Then try to run the setup again. Error Code:-5501 I could only click OK. About two minutes before that , I accidentally clicked GTASA as I already installed it once before but unsuccesfully but thought it might work (Damned external n00b I) and because nothing happened I clicked uninstall. After those uninstall messages, I closed the process gta_sa.exe and tried with uninstall again but it didn't work so I restarted the computer, twice by now but with no good results. I deleted every file in my computer connected to GTASA (atleast visible) and then putted the DVD into DVD-ROM but still it wrote ''Play GTA:San Andreas aswell as I got the upper two messages when tried to uninstall the game. When I clicked the Browse DVD Contents and clicked the Setup.exe and used the minimum installation as before it didn't work because of the problems: Feature:Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas Game Data Component: Anim File:E:/Data2.cab Error: File error (Checking CRC). Then, the installation ends and its window shuts. I didn't know what keywords to enter with this problem so I didn't use the search . I REALLY appreciate any help as my knowledge isn't enough with this one. Thank you!

gtamodder
The problem was, that about the part I got to the countryside the game started to become VERY slow It could be your RAM, 256 is the minimum for SA, and if you just meet the minimum you really usually get 10-20fps. Try lowering the settings. As for the error, your disk may be scratched. Try cleaning it and update your firmware drivers for your disk drive if you haven't already. Naseem Srour
Maybe, I'm not sure ; delete a file named gta_sa.set, which is located in My Documents / GTA San Andreas User Files .

cacarla
As Gtamodder 256 mb of RAM is nothing really for SA. Try playing your game with revised in-game settings like: Anti-aliasing: off Draw distance- Zero or nil Reso: 640x480x16. If the game is not loading do a clean re-install of the game by which i mean delete the san andreas folder and then do a clean re-install(also delete the .set file) as Naseem said.. PS: Alternative method for uninstalling is to go to your control panel and click on add/remove programs and delete SA from there.

Yknow guys it's time to confess I'm 12 I don't have much word when it's time to upgrade the PC (5 years with this crap) but if i would we would have 5 PCs in the time we have had 1... @cacarla: Note: I can't install it succesfully, but I sent an email to the company where I bought the game to see if I can get a new DVD (quite some scratches and dust found on this one, note its 10 days since i bought it ), new game costs 30 € in Slovenia where I am (about 60 $US) and it's quite much for me so I hope I'll get a new one free, nice to see so many responses in this small time and I appreciate yall
