Exfernis
I feel like I have to post this, I don't know why. I hate the cops that stop us skating around our local area when their's chavs harrassing the old people, who are probably scared out of their wits. A few days ago I assembled my new board (Blueprint deck, Destructio Trucks, Element wheels) which cost nearly £100. First time skating it around 9 at night, then what do you know. A f*cking cop pulls up, shouts at us, then takes MY board out of 5 of us, and says "You're making too much noise". It's f*cking aggravating, we're not doing anything wrong yet they have to stop us having fun because they have a shiny, gold badge. Well they can shove their badge up their ass. It just generally f*cking annoys me that there's 15year olds joyriding around in stolen cars we're havong our boards took off us with the chance of never getting them back. It's bullsh*t. darthYENIK
Isn't it illegal over there for police to take your personal possessions without a warrant? Well, it is here. Anyway. I've been harassed by cops all my life for skateboarding. Half the time they are cool, the other half they think I don't know what my rights are, and act like assholes. It comes with the territory. If you skate you WILL get harassed by everyone. I don't know if it's because people hate to see other people having fun, or because they truly can't just walk away and go to another part of the park, or school, or town, but people have it out for us. It's a prejudice. They see a skateboard, and they think hooligan, thug, and menace to society. P.S. why does your board cost so much?
Typhus
Okay, the cops took your board away. But how much noise were you making? You know, sometimes people like to have a nice atmosphere with lots of peace and quiet. And so anything that upsets the apple cart has to go. But you just know that it was some doddering old woman who called the cops on you, see a pair of dead eyes glaring at you from behind a net curtain? Yeah, that's the culprit. My board costs alot because I buy top quality stuff that's not gonna snap in half an hour Then again I get paid alot so that might be it. >> Typhus, unless skating around just chatting counts as making alot of noise... When I hear guys chatting outside my house it sounds like world war 3, since when has all talking by young people become shouting...
Struff Bunstridge
To be fair, skateboards are bloody noisy. In Nottingham, UK, they recently paved over the central square in the city, transforming it from an unintentional skaters paradise (steps, jumps, grind rails etc), to a flat concrete expanse. I think rather than confiscating boards, why not just build more skate parks?

I think rather than confiscating boards, why not just build more skate parks? Yeah but then they get graffitied by chavs and even the skaters. Then it becomes an "eyesore" to older people in the community, and people are bound to drink about there at night, which could cause problems. raresh_r
you're stupid if you let the stupid cop take your board. he hasn't got the right to do that. the mayor build a special park for skaters in my city but only EMO and young kids (age 1-15) go there. the "pro" guys are in a park downtown you should protest about this !
