ApplePieMolester81
I hope im in the correct section here for this thread "crosses fingers" But what's your opinions on game cheats in general? I used to be a hardcore cheater, in fact I was about 52% progress in GTA 4 and I decided to restart without the cheats so I can feel a bit more accomplished about it. I was a cheater galore on San Andreas and albeit it being fun with so much extra ammo and getting out of cop heat so easily it just doesent feel as accomplishing. So do you love/hate game chaeating and what are your overall opinions?
jedimario
I think cheating is ok if you're just messing around. I mean Rioting Pedestrians is just good ol' fun. But I wouldn't ever want to save after using a cheat, and that goes for any game. It's much more satisfying to actually complete the game without giving yourself that advantage, to experience it as it was meant to be experienced. K^2
Games are for having fun. If you have more fun with cheats, cheat. If you have more fun with extra challenge, don't cheat. That's all there is to it. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.
xtal256
I agree with you -- in theory. In theory, communism works. In theory. I only used a cheat once in SA (and saved) but now i wish i hadn't. I used it to get more ammo to help me win a gang war but i later discovered a glitch to get lots of ammo* and after that i won gang wars easy. Apart from that i just used good 'ol perseverance to complete missions. But, like i said, i agree in theory. There are some games like the Doom and Quake series that i just cannot get through without cheating. I hate it when there are 50 enemies all around you and a health pack is nowhere to be seen. I find it much easier and more fun if i cheat. I don't have to worry about dying and i still enjoy blasting monsters and exploring the cool levels. There are some games like Halo that i can complete without cheats (if Halo had cheats), i have even finished 1 and 2 in legendary difficulty, but my view is that if the going gets tough, cheat . I mean, if the game's not fun then what's the point of playing? I enjoy a challenge but as Lisa Simpson said (yet another Simpsons quote): Bart: I thought you came here looking for a challenge. Lisa: Duh! A challenge I could do!
Struff Bunstridge
I'm not big on computer games, and don't play that many. When I first picked up SA about a year or so ago, the size and scope of the game seemed almost intimidating, and I ran through most of my first time using a couple of cheats to help me out, while I figured out what the hell was going on. Nothing serious, just health and ammo. I then restarted using no cheats at all, but I guess you could call my SA experience one big cheat, I dunno. Generally I don't use cheats, because, to paraphrase my old Latin teacher, by cheating you are only cheating yourself.
