crazymodder Posted August 11, 2008 Share Posted August 11, 2008 my VC is just only 2 months old after i decided to reinstall it. but now i had a problem. every time i start VC, a prompt will pop out and it says 'To run this application, you have to run in 800x600 resolution mode.' but my desktop resolution is 1024x768. but i had fixed it by running it on 640x480 resolution mode. (i cant play it peacely on a bigger resolution!) it still pops up the prompt but windows just enters the game. but after i had pressed Alt + Tab, i cant enter the game! please help me. have cookies! you should know my pc specs. plus, i dont have mods installed. cacarla Posted August 11, 2008 Share Posted August 11, 2008 Vice city is designed to run on a 800x600 reso.. If you lower it to 640x480 still you might face problems.. Go to your settings by right clicking>properties>settings and then lower your settings. also lower your color quality. Else simple: delete your .set file and then see is your old reso's work. Windows Vista Ultimate NVidia NForce 790SLi Ultra Intel Core 2 Extreme 3.0GHz Corsair DDR3 2000MHz 4GB NVidia GeForce 9800GX2 1GB x2 GIGABYTE 16x SAMSUNG 52x Cooler Master COSMOS S (RC-1100) Cooler Master AquaGate Max Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1250W (RS-C50-EMBA-D2) SeaGate SATA 750GB 7200RPM nevermind, fixed. i run it on 1280x1024x32 resolution. but the most damn is, my vista ultimate 32-bit only can detect a 3.5GB of RAM total. i will change it to 64 bit soon.
